Our Story The business has taken on a life of its own and seemingly on its own. Unless you live inside the head of Chris Kellum. He is always thinking about the next step- always trying to make things better, always trying to find ways to improve. His fastidiousness with his business and his machines comes from his inability to surrender to challenges. He possesses the kind of fortitude of which most are envious, and of which has catapulted this once tiny business into a thriving and real-life dream come true. Prior to the inception of Custom Rugs, Chris was born into the flooring and carpet industry. His first industry-relevant job was in flooring: selling for his dad at an Abbey carpet store in Florida. He was immediately drawn to the business and has accumulated over 25 years of industry experience on the sales floors of myriad carpet stores throughout the country. As a result, Chris has relevant experience but also a diverse understanding of the needs of his clients.
