We recently worked with Veterans Carpet One to get a house ready to put on the market. For a free estimate, the representative came to the house, spent a lot of time measuring, talking with me and our project manager and assessing our needs as well as our budget. He treated us with respect and understanding and offered us choices that met our needs. There was no high pressure tactics to get us to "buy the best" and he was able to answer all our questions. We left the shop after picking out carpet feeling confident that we had made the best choice for us. The install was executed at the time agreed on and was done with the care and precision we were told to expect. No mess was left behind, the carpet looks wonderful, and the installer notified me as he was leaving so that I could go check things out and secure the house. I would use this company again and highly suggest that you check them out for your needs!

My husband and I purchased a Quick-Step floor from Veterans and had it shipped from out of state. Not only did they have the BEST price but they were great to work with. Even with a very active lab puppy, our floors have held up great!

AT ALL COSTS DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Verteran's Carpet One was hired by Lionsbridge Contractor Group to complete a flood restoration in two levels of my home. S&S Floor Surfacing Inc was then contracted as a 3rd tier sub-contractor to complete a flood restoration in two levels of my home. They didn't complete the initial work for 6 months with no explanations from Verteran's Carpet One. When the work was initially completed the floors looked unbelievably terrible. The issues with the flooring were as follows, vapor barrier was not installed under the wood flooring, wood was not left to acclimate prior to installation, initial unfilled gaps of a 1/16th of an inch are present between old and new sections of flooring, surface finish has dirt in it all over the floor, finish is uneven with some areas not getting any finish, nail holes were not filled, pencils lines are present under the finish, gapping between 1/32nd of and inch and 1/16th of an inch over the whole floor within a week due to lack of acclimation, filling is chipping out, because of separation of boards edges are sharp and catch as you walk over them.
Verteran's Carpet One then started work to replace carpet in the damaged areas. During both the wood flooring and carpet replacement I stayed in temp housing covered by the insurance company. The project manager Chris Fall at Veterans Carpet One lied to the insurance company claiming that they had completed the work when the carpet wasn't even installed leaving me and my dogs without a place to live as the insurance company refused to pay for temp housing "after the job had been completed".
The owner of S&S Floor Surfacing Inc came to the home to review the issue with the wood flooring and agreed the repairs were not done to his standards but after discussion with the project manager Chris Fall at Veterans Carpet One they refused to fix the issues. Veterans Carpet One hired an independent inspector to document the condition of the floor and confirmed with a 20 page report that the flooring was not done properly. Veterans Carpet One refused to fix the issues but offered to add a coat of finish. Lionsbridge Contractor Group said to pursue any additional effort would not be possible until S&S Floor Surfacing Inc had an opportunity to fix their mistakes so they came in and added a coat of finish 11 months after the original claim. The rework did not resolve any of the issues previously discussed and the rework looks even worse than the original finish.
Now, over a year has past with unprofessional back and forth and S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group refuse to fix the flooring.
S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group are big on customer service and top of the industry promises but terrible on results. They are unethical, unprofessional, and the quality of their work is seriously poor. At all cost do not use this company.

Comment from Carpet One-Veterans Carpet One:
We received this claim from the insurance company and were tasked with getting Mr. Jocelyn’s floors put back together after his loss. We have worked very closely with all major insurance carriers and have been a part of their “Preferred Service Provider” program for over ten years. We have been a part of this program for so long because we provide exceptional customer service and products to the insurance carriers’ customers. They don’t continue to assign work to companies that lie or refuse to take care of issues when they arise. As a 71 year company, owned by three generations, we take a lot of pride in this. Mr. Jocelyn’s job took six months to begin because there were other contractors on the job that needed to finish before we could do the floors. We strive to complete work for our customers as soon as possible not only to get their home put back together, but because the insurance company doesn’t pay us until the job is done. Once the contractors’ work was done, we started our work. After we finished, Mr. Jocelyn was concerned about the finish on his new wood floor and some seasonal gapping he saw. We don’t sand and finish in house so we hired S&S Floor Surfacing to do the job. They are a long standing and reputable sand and finish company in the Denver area. The owner of S&S went out multiple times and deemed that a screen and re-coat would take care of his issues with the floor. Before the job started, Mr. Jocelyn signed off on our wood expectations form. We try to educate our customers as best as possible on the characteristics and behaviors of wood floors. Two points highlighted on that form are that some debris will settle in the finish because you can’t control particles floating in the air. Another point highlighted on that form is that proper humidification must be in the house to reduce expansion and contraction of the wood. Mr. Jocelyn does not have any in home humidification and refused to install a humidifier on his furnace. Our form is aligned with NWFA standards and so are all of our contractors we use for sand and finish jobs. We offered the screen and re-coat to Mr. Jocelyn as a way to fix some of his issues with debris in the finish and the seasonal gapping. We knew the gaps between the boards were caused because he didn’t have proper humidification in his home. We also knew the sizes of the gaps were well within industry standards for normal seasonal gapping as the NWFA states. Mr. Jocelyn was not happy with this and wanted his floor completely torn out and re-done. From here, the insurance company decided to get an independent inspector to make sure everything was within industry standards. The inspector hired is known as one of the best NWFA inspectors in the nation. His conclusion was that everything was within industry standards but we offered do a screen and re-coat to help take care of Mr. Jocelyn’s personal issues with the floor. Highlighted on the report was that Mr. Jocelyn did not have proper in home humidification and that the gapping was less than 1/64, which is normal seasonal gapping. A copy of the seven page report was given to us, S&S, the insurance company and Mr. Jocelyn. In conclusion, the remedy we offered is the one recommended by the independent inspector. The insurance company is pleased with the customer service we have provided and was satisfied with the screen and re-coat we offered to do for Mr. Jocelyn for free. We followed through on this and have done the screen and re-coat for him. If the insurance company deemed this as a legitimate claim by Mr. Jocelyn, they would have hired another company to re-do the job and back charge us. After a complete review by the insurance company, Carpet One Corporate and CCA National Accounts, it has been determined that Mr. Jocelyn’s complaints are not legitimate and the claim has been closed. From start to finish, we have met industry standards for our quality of work and have never refused to address and rectify Mr. Jocelyn’s concerns.
