3 Reviews for Roya Rugs
The Hickory Furniture Mart, with Roya Rugs is the best place to purchase a rug because Lodie is there! He was the most helpful sales person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Lodie’s background is in art and design so he was able to help me choose four different carpets and still maintain a pleasing flow of color and pattern, moving from room to room. Every rug is so beautiful and compliments each room and each other! I could not have accomplished the correct choice without Lodie! He was fantastic.

Thank goodness we went to Roya Rugs and met Lodie. He is a great interior designer who took a look at our photos and pulled out the perfect large rug to accent our new rolled steel fireplace. He took the time to explain the differences in his rugs and to make sure that we were getting the right visual and utilitarian fit for the room. Several week later (and after visiting many other rug stores), we made another trip from Virginia back to Roya Rugs with a piece of our steel, to see it side-by-side with the rug. Lodie had been right with his recommendation on our first visit, and we purchased that rug on our second visit. Lodie also helped us select a smaller rug for our foyer. Our home is open-concept so each rug had to visually work with the other. Lodie’s keen eye and design skills helped make that happen. We came away with two, high-quality rugs that are stand-out pieces on their own. We agree with the previous reviewer, who noted that Lodie is a great guy! It was a pleasure to work with him.
I purchased rugs from this store
Lodie and the staff at Roya Rugs in the Hickory Furniture Mart are nothing short of fantastic. We built a new house in Charlotte, transplanting back to NC from the DC area, and headed down to the Hickory Furniture Mart one weekend for some inspiration on furnishings. We got lost in the cavernous Mart and passed by Roya Rugs and decided to take a look since we had a lot of hardwoods to cover. Roya Rugs has a very large inventory, is well lit, very clean, and organized. Lodie met us at the door and showed us everything the store had to offer for all budgets. He explained to us the difference between hand-knotted and machine-made carpets, as well as the different types of rug materials (natural, blend, and synthetic) for high-traffic vs. low-traffic areas. We purchased two rugs from Roya, one for our master bedroom and one for our office. The bedroom rug is a hand-woven rug that is very soft under foot. The rug is absolutely gorgeous with a slight sheen on beige wool with blue and brown argyle diamonds. The office carpet is a power-loomed, synthetic rug that looks like a very expensive silk and wool rug, even though it isn’t. It really looks like a million bucks and is perfect for the office. With Lodie’s help, we were able to find the perfect rugs that fit the utility of the rooms and he gave us a very generous discount off each. In addition to the discount, Lodie gave us a 100% rubber rug pad for the large bedroom rug for free. Rubber pads are very expensive and are recommended for use on hardwoods as they will not disintegrate and "stick" to the poly like a synthetic pad. My spouse, who was going to be home while the rugs were going to be delivered, has back issues and the standard shipping was curbside. Lodie, recognizing that I would not be home to help bring the rugs inside, setup a free white glove delivery to our surprise. He called us after we left the store to let us know that he had setup the white glove delivery for us at no charge. We were speechless. Since delivery, I have spoken to Lodie about the care of our rugs and he has provided great advice and even remembered who we were! If you are looking for fantastic rugs at a great value, stop by Roya Rugs in the Hickory Furniture Mart and ask for Lodie. You will not be disappointed with his knowledge, service, follow-through, and follow-up months after the sale. And in my interactions with Lodie since we purchased the rugs, I’ve come to appreciate the fact that he is an overall great person – a rare find, nowadays.
