“I met Terry out of the blue one day when I was out visiting architects I l wanted to work with, and as soon as I saw his work, I loved it, and knew we were a good professional match. The homes he designs are well thought out, elegant, and stately, and the end product is truly beautiful. You can count on creativity and lots of interest that makes sense in his homes in both the interior and exterior details. He’s had many years experience, is smart, and it’s just enjoyable to work with him.”

“Michael is very knowledgeable with experience in carpentry and architecture. It was obvious that he keeps current with both subjects. This was apparent when he was able to list pros and cons of various ways of doing something. He is very open minded when it comes to trying something different from the mainstream. He is very good at reusing materials whenever possible. He did an excellent job utilizing every inch of space when feasible. He is creative and his craftsmanship is excellent. Michael created a very nice studio apartment for me to rent. Michael is very easy to work with and kept me informed at all times regarding budget, subcontractors and necessary changes . I highly recommend him.”

“Rich Brya designed and built a house and studio for me. I'm very happy to have worked with them. Rich was very responsive to my wishes and the house fits us perfectly. Rich is great to work with, transparent about costs, and I love the design. My house is full of light, yet energy efficient. Sun comes in for thermal heating in the winter but not in the summer. My utility bills are lower than in my old house, although the square footage is larger. The house is solidly built, and after 5 years, I've had no problems. I love the house and feel happy every time I walk in.”

“We have done several projects with deMx and have loved working with them on everyone. They have great design ideas and worked well in taking our thoughts to produce great results. Our most recent project was a carriage house for our historic home. The modern and complementary addition has been awarded for it's improvement to a historic district and infill. If you like modern design, they can do it. Craftsman and more historic needs - I think you would find the firm will impress.”

Skiles Architect, PA

“I hired Skiles Architects to design a small (1350 sf) eco-friendly house on an infill lot. We wanted a unique and beautiful home in a modern style that used locally sourced or sustainable materials, minimized construction waste, and was designed to use minimal energy and water resources. For pictures go to http://www.dwell.com/house-tours/article/small-footprint-fayetteville I loved working with them. They "got" what we were trying to achieve, brought a strong knowledge of construction basics and environmentally friendly design to the project, were able to give the house the unique modern look we wanted, and continually monitored the building process. They were helpful, friendly, professional, met deadlines and budgets, and we worked well with them. For example, Lisa helped me source soapstone countertop material from a LEED certified site in VA. Albert used his knowledge of passive solar to design a bank of clerestory windows which raise the heat in our living area on a sunny winter day by 4-5 degrees yet keeps excessive heat out of the house in the summer. We highly recommend this company.”
