“I worked with Carrie Moore to transform our master bedroom into a sanctuary. Her work originally caught my attention due to her years of experience in sustainable design and concern for health, wellness, and use of biophilic principles – a rare combination in residential interior design. After an initial visit to our house and thoughtful inquiry into our goals for the space, she provided a clear scope of work and estimate of her fees. The scope of work included a layout, idea board, color and product recommendations, and sourcing of products as needed. Carrie tuned into our aesthetic right away and gently challenged us to simplify the room to help accomplish our goals. She used some pieces that we already owned, found the art at an estate sale, ordered the bedding when it was on sale, and found a ‘look for less’ rug at a discount store. All of these efficiencies allowed us to invest in some designer lighting and in two custom bedside tables (that she designed) from a local metal artist. I especially appreciated that she seemed to have good relationships and good communication with all of the contractors that worked on the project – painters, window shade installer, metal artist, etc. This made the execution feel seamless. The project turned out beautifully - it is restful while being inspiring and highlights the nature outside our windows. We will work with Carrie again.”

After years of shopping at her store for our previous house and our home in Athens, Michael and I knew that we wanted Malika to design our new home. She absolutely exceeded our expectations. Her ability to put everything together the way she does is amazing and truly her gift!”

“My wife and I have been retired for three years. Our home was built in 1997, and we did regular maintenance to the interior and exterior but only necessary stuff. In January 2014, we decided to update our home. It needed complete updates to the kitchen and the 2 ½ baths. We soon decided that at this time in our life, we wanted to stay in our existing home but “make it over” totally new. And that’s exactly what we did. Knowing the project would be large, we sought professional help. We looked into interior designers and found Roberta Frank Designs. We chose Roberta because of a number of factors that gave us confidence from the beginning. First, we loved her bubbly personality, high-energy, and positive approach. Second, we were impressed by her resume, eye for detail, and budget consciousness. When we finally looked at the timeline of our project and Roberta knew we had a home at the beach, she suggested we move out and let her take total control. This was one of the best ideas of hers we adopted. We’d return every two weeks or so and see how our home was being transformed. In the interim, she communicated daily on email and via phone calls to us. The project ran from February to mid-May and when we moved back in, the inside of our home was breathtakingly unrecognizable. A beautiful color pallet, new floor coverings, new lighting had been installed. We chose to replace almost all of our furniture. We had all new window treatments added and new décor items throughout. Roberta Frank managed this entire process. She was there to oversee the general contractor and all of the sub-contractors. She coordinated with us on the purchase of all the new furniture and décor items so that when the remodel and updates neared completion, she wasted no time having the new items delivered and installed. “Help! I had to re-furnish the lower level of my house that had been empty for several years, but had a very limited budget and a funky collection of furnishings. I had company coming and needed things done asap. CK Design to the rescue. After a few hours of consultation and sharing ideas, I knew I was in the right hands. We were going to pull from many other rooms in the house, would only need a few new pieces, add a picture here, a rug there and it could all be done in only a few days. Voila! Virginia and Maria did an amazing job making each room (including most of the other rooms in the house) look fresh, updated, and inviting (and furnished). They found fun antique pieces for a bargain that fit right into the decor, and mixed them in with fresh, whimsical accents that I would never have thought of myself, but that really made the space work. They are masters of making clever use of any nook, cranny, or cupboard. By the time Maria and Virginia finished their magic, my garage was re-organized, my attic looked like a showroom, and every room in-between had been spiffed up and some even re-purposed. All for less than the cost of several days work and a couple thousand dollars in new furnishings. They are a dream team to work with, can sense your style and taste, and work to achieve YOUR look within your budget. You would not believe what they can accomplish in one day's time. They also have a stable of painters, framers, electricians, and helpers who can whisk in to do what's needed and for a very reasonable cost. Don't even think about doing it yourself! That is what I thought I would do: hear their ideas, consult and get their advice, and then just do the work myself. Believe me, I would never have gotten the job done, nor would I have found the treasures and bargains they found and done it all in the time of only a few days! These ladies are very experienced and know the area merchants and dealers. Leave it to the Pros at CK Design, sit back and enjoy your company, and just smile when they visit and comment about how they just love what "I" did to my house!”
