“We worked with Paul on an addition and complete internal re-do - bigger kitchen, bigger master bedroom. Paul is a good listener, honest, and genuine person. We ended up buying a house and he refunded the unused portion of our "retainer". From the beginning he is comfortable to work with and what he says, he does. I kind of hate to have found a house because I know he'd work wonders.”

“When we hired David Lund to design our kitchen, new bathroom and new mudroom, we weren't sure what to expect. We had never undertaken such a large remodeling project before and we were overwhelmed with getting the layout exactly right and incorporating all the "little extras" we wanted in our dream kitchen. David took a pile of tear sheets that we'd saved, listened intently to our desires and concerns, and came back with plans that were so complete that even our contractor commented they were the best plans he'd ever worked with. What's more, David's suggestions for design picks completely changed the way we think about making choices for our home. He opened our eyes to options (hello, green penny tile!) that we would have never considered, and made us become better home decorators. He also retained the integrity of our nearly 100-year-old home by making countless choices that are consistent with its design period. When the project was complete it was not only exactly what we wanted, but was also filled with details we didn't know we wanted until he put them into place. We have a lot of envious friends.”

He is very knowledgeable of construction and understands very well how things are built, this understanding has helped us to come up with solutions that allow me as a contractor to stay on budget as well as resolve project difficulties within budget. He explains the process very well and lays out a realistic time line for clients. He follows through and keeps his word. Keith is a pleasure to work with, his dealings are fair honest and he is a man of his word. I would regard him as the best draftsmen I have ever worked with.”

“We just completed construction on our new home in the White Bear Lake, MN area. We had been looking for a tear down opportunity on a nearby lake for a couple years, and when a property presented itself, we quickly sprung into action. We have identified our builders in advance (Sustainable9) and based on our vision for the home, they introduced us to Unfold Architecture. Their previous projects, both out West and here in MN, fit the mountain modern/Minnesota modern style we were seeking. From the get go, the team at Unfold were amazing partners. Through conversations and inspiration photos we shared on Houzz, they took our long wish list (maximized lake views, lower level walkout, modern but welcoming, mid-century influences) and designed the perfect house. Their houses are striking architecturally but also extremely livable and functional. They use state of the art CAD models to help you envision what the home would look like. It’s remarkable how close the house turned out in respect to the early renderings. And throughout the process, they were collaborative partners, incorporating feedback from both us and our builders, presenting us initially with several options and then honing in on our chosen design. We could not be more pleased with the process (even in the midst of Covid challenges) or the end result, which is truly the dream home we envisioned.”

He listened to us about the kind of home we wanted and was able to translate that into a space that is both pleasing to look at and will fit our needs as we enter our retirement years. Jim has created design elements that make our home unique. He designed a custom valance system, using his knowledge of lighting and wood-working. He designed the pattern of exterior siding that is both creative and contemporary. Both of these while keeping in mind our particular budget and material specifications. Nancekivell Design has used our ideas about the way we want to live together to create a space that is comfortable, contemporary, and beautiful.”
