Builders' General Supply

“I am a general contractor that has been in operation for 18 years. As you can imagine, it's not always easy when you are working on homes for homeowners, as there are always delays of one sort or another. Builders General Supply has been the one constant that I have had for all my years of operation. I know when orders and materials are placed through BGS that I can count on getting exactly what I need when they say it will come. From the salesman to the corporate at BGS, everyone is knowledgeable and helpful. In a business that can be very tough, it's great to know that I can always count on BGS for materials and advice. “I hired Images in Design for a large kitchen remodel job. Tammy was fantastic to work with! We chose everything together and she had everything lined up before the demolition. Because of her organizational skills and attention to detail, I was only without my kitchen for 4 weeks, and now have a stunning kitchen, gorgeous cabinets, and top appliances to enjoy cooking with. Everything works well and it is the highlight of my home. I would hire her again for my next project!”

“We can’t say enough about the amazing way Alison renovated our 1960’s house from an outdated design that did not meet our needs to a beautifully functional design that we now love! We renovated our kitchen and two bathrooms, which can be a daunting task when the situation seems hopeless and you don’t know where to start. Alison brought a holistic approach to the design, creating a functional space that was consistent with the period of the house. She made sure the design worked well with the adjacent space, and helped us with every detail along the way including selection of tile, plumbing fixtures, flooring, appliances, etc… Our kitchen and our master bath were both extremely space challenged and very dated. Somehow Alison found space where there wasn't any before. Our master bath was a postage stamp sized cubicle with a closet style shower and 1960s green tile. Alison had the vision to expand that space into an adjacent closet while maximizing our other closet space in the master bedroom. She designed a beautiful walk-in shower with waterfall tiling and a new expanded vanity, which allows my wife and I to use the bathroom at the same time. We now have an expansive walk-in closet in our master bedroom without sacrificing significant space in the master bedroom. Our kitchen may have been even more of a challenge than our bathroom and the changes that Alison made completely transformed the functionality and beauty of the kitchen. We started with a 1960's galley kitchen with original cabinets, very limited storage space, an undersized oven, and laminated countertops that were space constrained with our microwave and other appliances. Cooking together in our old kitchen was an impossible task as we were constantly bumping into each other. Alison's vision for our kitchen included bumping out the kitchen wall adjacent to our dining room and using the space where the wall had been for new gas cooktop, serving area and additional cabinets. The dining room side of the expansion now includes beautiful glass cabinets that display our formal china. Alison totally reorganized the flow of the kitchen to allow several people to work in the kitchen comfortably. She expanded the entrance from our living room into the kitchen giving it a much more open feel. We now have over twice the amount of cabinet space we previously had and numerous features that make the kitchen far more functional. We are extremely grateful to Alison for make our home so much warmer and more beautiful.”
Lang's Kitchen & Bath

“Our project started out with remodeling our kitchen and then grew to include a powder room, installing hardwood floors throughout and painting. Lang's design ideas were excellent, John is very good at thinking outside of the norm. Lang's provided great suggestions for material and had a wide selection of samples at the showroom to choose from. I would definitely give them 5 stars for design ideas and recommendations of product. Our project ran for 8 weeks which was fine, that is the timeline that we were given from the beginning. However the start date was delayed twice leaving the project completion date at the day before Thanksgiving. Our contractor was awesome, Phil was polite, never left for the day without cleaning up, explained the process along the way and even came up with some design ideas himself. My 4 star rating is based on the communication between us and Lang's during the 8 weeks. Maybe our expectations were too high since this was the first renovation that we have been through. I think a phone call once a week or so to confirm that we were happy with the progress being made and a final walk through inspection of the workmanship with us was not to much to expect when you are spending a large amount of money. Overall I have recommended them and I would use them again as long as I could have the same contractor. We had a separate contractor for the powder room and the quality of his work was not the same as the one we had for the kitchen.”
Two Chefs Construction
Dayton, NJ Kitchen and Bathroom Designers
May 7, 2019
“We contracted with Two Chefs Construction in the Fall of 2019 for a complete kitchen and first floor demolition and reconstruction (including bathroom and living room) - what I would consider a major home renovation, gutting the space down to studs and rebuilding. We have experience with similar major home renovation and I would rate our experience with Two Chefs at the highest end of our experience. The most important thing to us was a strong kitchen design that provided a good flow to our first floor and enabled a large kitchen island in a space where it might have been difficult with another design. We are thrilled with the result. They were also very helpful in selection of appliances, cabinets, flooring, and all other choices - by understanding our tastes and translating that to something that worked as a whole. They even went shopping with us for tile that would work in the design. The result is a kitchen that now flows well with living room, dining room and bathroom downstairs - permitting easier entertaining and movement of people at gatherings and dining events - and most importantly easier cooking of large and complex meals. They were exceptionally strong with construction management, timing and budget as well. I tracked spending versus budget closely and the only variations were from third-party contractors needing more involvement than planned, from unexpected problems after demolition and from our choices as to appliances. They finished precisely on the planned date set at the beginning - actually working longer hours to make sure they did. This is made possible by their working on only ONE project at a time. They are available to you constantly during the project - usually immediately. Any kitchen renovation is a major disruption but they helped us plan for the downsides and it was hard but not impossible. They did their best to keep dust and debris well controlled - but dust in all living spaces from a major project seems inevitable and we recovered from it. Even after it was complete, they were available to return to ensure that cabinet doors were perfectly aligned and that everything was satisfactory. For this work, we asked for full proposals from Two Chefs and from another well-known and capable company. We awarded the work to Two Chefs based on their design and approach - and because we felt it would produce something more dedicated to our needs versus a cookie cutter renovation. This is precisely what we realized - a kitchen that is everything we wanted and more. I say "more" because they asked us to consider using fewer upper cabinets and more lower cabinet space - in order to open up the kitchen more and make it lighter. It was precisely the right advice and we are very happy with the results. I would very highly recommend this team for similar projects.”

Kitchen Intuitions

“We contracted with Kitchen Intuitions to tear down to the studs a 50 year-old kitchen to which various previous owners had done DIY jobs, some of which were, when the walls were gone, very dangerous and had serious structural implications. KI was fantastic in every way, starting with reliability and dedication of the crew, and going on to creativity in dealing with the confines of the given space, as well as taking corrective action needed as the faults of the previous DIY jobs were exposed, removing 5 layers of flooring and 2 ceilings which no one knew were there. KI maximized the amount of cabinet storage space and made the space convenient to work and circulate in, meshing perfectly with the adjoining spaces in the house.”
Skydell Contracting Inc.

“Skydell Contracting did an amazing job. Although this was a Master Bath renovation, the project could be viewed as new construction. What a fabulous project this bathroom came to be. The project managers and the staff at Skydell were always professional. When issues did arise, the owner Richard Skydell was immediately there to ascertain the problem and was quick to offer options. We had some of our own ideas that were always welcomed. We would certainly recommend these folks who can handle everything for your home. The bathroom involved total demolition of the existing bath, new insulation and walls. New plumbing, water closet, installation of carrera stone work, electrical and all woodwork. We are very happy with the outcome.”
