“When it came to finding a good composite deck building contractor near Barrington, I was stumped. We are new to the Barrington & Inverness area and did not know many local deck builders or decking contractors nearby that may be able to help with replacing or repairing my crumbling back deck. We moved into an older home in downtown Barrington that we knew had deck repairs to be done from the initial inspections but soon found out that we needed to replace the entire deck after a more thorough deck inspection was done. I didnt really know where to start when it came to replacing our deck or if there were actually contractors that specialized in deck building in Barrington. We knew we liked the idea of maintanence free decking, like the composite decks you see in Home Depot or Lowes (aka Trex decking -which is the brand we ultimately chose), but that was pretty much the extend of our knowledge about decks or building a deck. Tom and Kyle came out for an initial deck inspection and took some time to explain some of the composite decking options with different manufacturers including the difference between Trex, Azek (which is the same as Timbertech now I guess) and other composite decking brands. They were able to show us the difference in costs vs rebuilding a wood deck vs composite deck as well which was super helpful! After meeting with Tom from Platinum decks, we realized half the work in finding a good decking contractor is having the knowledge to determine the good local contractors from the bad. The fact that these guys were ready to spend the energy educating us spoke volumes when it came time make a decision which is one of the big reasons we chose Platinum Decking in Barrington to build our new deck. “We've worked with Gasca's for close to 20 years, starting when we were in a single-family home. We first learned of Gasca's when we noticed the French Drain they put in at another home in the neighborhood. They provided several wonderful landscaping enhancements which we loved, from raised planting area next to our driveway; to front stoop repair with a brick walkway (adding a nice curve to the path); to a 6 ft cedar fence in the back of our yard; to buried rain gutter discharge; moving a utility shed and providing landscape accents for it (including more brick); to a stone path in a drainage swale next to the house that couldn't support grass and was often a soggy mess. Until we moved they also provided the lawn care and snow removal. We even had some plumbing and electrical done, though that wasn't a main activity for them at the time. After moving to our condo we didn't have much need for their services and lost contact for several years. Fast forward to 2 years ago, after I became involved with our HOA and began developing some thoughts about some work inside our unit. When I encountered Javier at Home Depot we caught up and I discovered that Gasca's had expanded their areas of work.
