After much research, results clearly pointed to The Deck Store Oakville as a reputable company for our extensive backyard project. We needed a L-shaped designer building, covered B-Que area, lounge & dining spaces, all surrounded by privacy walls with lighting. Our designer Robert Hodichak took our wishes and created a backyard experience exceeding all expectations. Review for the Deck Store: The [deck project] results were wonderful. The Deck Store successfully accomplished turning a concept into a [nice] reality in our backyard. Professional, creative, empathetic, and awesome – are four terms to describe the experience we had building a two-level deck, and enjoying it after it was completed. The Deck Store provided realistic expectations that were within our budget, and the design segment [of the project] with Robert was amazing. No question was silly or troublesome, and if it was; you never knew it. Robert did a great job creating a functional design for our space, and ensuring it all worked out. These guys are very easy to deal with. Robert and his team did a great job on our deck, on time, tidy and able to adapt to our changes without any problem. Workmanship was very good, love the way they matched the grain on the deck boards.

We recently replaced our 20 year old 8'x12' cedar deck with a new 10'X24' wolf pvc deck with a permanent awning. The deck was designed by Rob Hodichak Sales and Design Manager for the Deck Store in Oakville. He was extremely knowledgeable in the products available and what would best address our needs. We worked with Rob for a few weeks to come up with a final solution that fit our needs and budget. He was very helpful with this process. Once construction began Rob was very diligent in stopping by and checking on the progress and addressing any issues we may have had (which were minimal). He always kept us informed on all phases of the project. Mike, who built the deck was very pleasant and efficient. He did an amazing job with the construction going as far as replacing boards that he was not happy with even though I did not see a problem. As mentioned above we chose the Wolf PVC decking product after visiting the showroom. Rob helped us with choosing the right colors by making us view them outdoors in the natural sunlight. What we initially thought would work looked different in the sunlight which led us to chose two of the newer colors suggested by Rob. We are very pleased with the outcome. We also went with an adjustable patio cover to make the deck enjoyable in any weather. We were originally thinking of building a permanent roof over the deck but Rob suggested going with the adjustable patio cover that would give us the option of having it open or closed to enjoy either sun or shade and to be able to still enjoy the deck during rainy days. We are very pleased with the way it turned out. Dario did an amazing job installing it. Anyone who has seen the deck has been very impressed with both the construction and appearance. I visited Robert at The Deck Store in Oakville late in summer 2014 with some ideas of what I wanted my new deck to look like, but I really wanted to hear an experienced builder/vendor opinion on all the different composite & PVC deck products out there and point me in the right direction. Robert took his time, always smiling, and went through the gamut of decking material, explaining their qualities and drawbacks, their price points: Which material he knew to be the best, and which he knew to offer the best quality to someone wishing to enjoy their deck for years to come. My deck design was basic, but Robert still took the time to apply his design and rendering skills to it to make it nicer than even I had imagined it. His proposal included 3 quotes of varying price and building material and we started the final specification from there... after taking features and material from one column and relegating some to another... I had a deck design and composite materials that I was happy with, looked great and within my budget. Once we locked it in, Robert kept being diligent, keeping me informed on the deck building start date, contacting me when there was an opportunity to start early (which I took advantage of). He would stop by the site during the construction to ensure that everything was going according to plan, and continued to take my calls whenever I would have questions about the current project features that were either assumed or that would have to diverge from the design document. Throughout it all, I felt that Robert took personal care and interest in the positive outcome of the project and made sure we had a thorough walkaround and final inspection of the deck before signing off on it. Even weeks after construction, he was attentive to my requests to fix a few things that didn't manifest themselves until everything was settled and the deck was being used. Even then, within a day, the little things were corrected to my satisfaction. Overall, I can say that Robert is a true professional and a pleasure to deal with. The design, material and crew used for the deck reflected very well on the store and its professionalism. Now I look forward to enjoying the deck!

We could not be happier with the outcome of our new deck. Though we did experience some unforeseen delays to the start of our deck (due to a wet onset to the spring season) its construction commenced with expertise and professionalism. I've personally known Robert for what seems like most of my life. Recently Robert was showing me some incredible concept designs that he came up with during a designing binge where he was cranking out several award winning concepts during a 36 hour marathon grinder. I was so impressed by all the options I was given- I just had to have them all! Since me money was not the deciding factor. Robert at The Deck Store designed (and redesigned) a deck for us in 2013. We have an unusual pool and yard arrangement and needed a custom made and designed deck to complete our yard. The work was done efficiently, and in time for us to enjoy the deck this summer. We are very happy with his customer service and our final product..
