My old wood deck was rotten, I needed a new one. Ryan came over and gave me an estimate for a new fake wood or PVC one. I got a other estimates from a couple of other companies, some where cheaper but I went with Ryan's PVC option even if it was more expensive, because I never want to have to paint my deck or replace again in my life. Also I got a good vibe from Ryan and that instinct proved correct. I also decided to add a pool to my backyard before the deck project began. This required adding a landing from the deck to the pool/ Ryan had no issues adapting to my changing demands, including the city who threw us a few curveballs to get the pool / deck permit. He was a pleasure to work with, as was his team. The end result was amazing, it looks great and is very sturdy, so I'm sure it will last my whole life as planned. I'm very glad I choose Final Touch and would recommend Ryan and his team to anyone!

FROM FRUMPY TO FANTASTIC IN 2 DAYS! Our dream of a large cedar deck turned into a nightmare of sanding and staining within a few years. We spent more time maintaining the deck than lounging on it. Our 2023 resolution was to reclaim our leisure time during Ottawa’s all too brief summer. The perfect solution came in advice from Ryan Cornel, the owner of Final Touch Decks and Fences. He recommended TimberTech decking as an alternative to composite decking. The quality difference was obvious when Ryan placed samples side by side. We chose Castle Gate by TimberTech without any hesitation. The good advice and personal touch continued - our notional design was to divide the horizontal boards with a single vertical board down the middle of the deck. Ryan pointed out that this would result in a waste of materials and money; adding a second vertical board saved hundreds of dollars. The final design also eliminated a drainage problem with the original deck. Ryan was confident that a slight overhang on the sides and front would protect the storage area under the deck. Ryan was right – no more water running down the exterior walls and a design in perfect balance! The Final Touch team worked well together. In addition to being highly skilled they were respectful of our property and our time. This dynamic foursome transformed our deck from “frumpy to fantastic” in two days. We were very pleased with the front porch that Ryan and his team built for us. I had Final Touch replace my old deck with cedar. They did a tremendous job! I definitely recommend Final Touch. Very precise in making everything fit including a plant stand a three flower boxes. The staff, besides being very skillful, were also friendly and polite.

From my very rough design of a 2-level deck and pergola, Ryan and his team brought my vision to life. Our project was quite challenging as we required a building code variance from the City of Ottawa due to the deck being built 6 feet above grade while extending into the minimum property setback. So, why did I choose Final Touch Decs &Fence - please read my story. I decided to replace my non-code conforming old deck (32 yrs) with a new one. I prepared a sketch of the new design; as well as educating my self about what is involved in deck building. I.e, size of footing and spacing, supporting beam size and how many, joist span, associated ledger and load capacity. Armed with this knowledge and my sketch, I requested quotes from several contractors. One by one, the discussions regarding the build was disappointing and I realized that I was dealing with estimators who side stepped my views on the framing and the build of the deck. I received a formatted quotes with an adapted reference to my design with little detail on deck framing. But this all changed when Ryan (Final Touch Decks & Fences ) came over to discuss the build. We hired Ryan and his team to build a PVC deck. The price we were quoted was fair and what we ended up paying. Although there were a few delays due to staffing shortages, Ryan was transparent and profession and the slight delays were worth it. I had an excellent experience working with this company, very professional, very good attention to detail and much effort into achieving my desired results. I consulted with Ryan the owner in September/October of 2020 about the replacement of my old multi-level deck . We agreed on design, costing and time for completion. He was currently quite busy with projects and gave me a starting time for June 15th 2021, as I would be the 11th job on his work list in 2021. I also requested that the project be completed at least to the point of using it by July 1st Canada day weekend as my entire family would be in town to celebrate that holiday. True to his word Ryan even started our job about week early and had the deck ready for use by July 1st. His crew were hard workers and very pleasant . The work site was kept very clean and tidy at the end of there work days, which was important to me. Even though there were supply issues because of the pandemic and everyone who has had any home projects done , will know the price of materials had escalated . Ryan was very proactive in minimizing these increased costs by getting all his supply orders for 2021 done during the preceding winter months. He was quite good about explaining the product options available to us . We settled on PVC which will be very durable and maintenance free. We are very happy with our new deck it looks beautiful and looking forward to many years of backyard enjoyment.

I found Ryan here on Houzz and was so impressed by the reviews. We hired Ryan to build a deck off a back cement porch. Just like all the reviews state, Ryan is truly a super communicator with his customers! He always picks up the phone or replies to your email immediately. He is so friendly, respectful and patient with his customers ( cause I had a million questions!). His whole crew of merry men are so friendly and professional. Ryan knows his products very well and we chose Timbertech for the decking in antique leather and picture framed with mocha. The design was a tad off the beaten path where the deck was not skirted to the ground and the stairs were open ( no risers to cover the stringers). Ryan was a bit surprised as this is not the “ normal” way to do this type of deck BUT he was very accommodating and again patient. Their workmanship on the deck they constructed for us was top notch! Just like the other reviewers said, delivered on time, on budget and excellent workmenship. We absolutely love this deck addition, we would 100% recommend Final Touch! Ryan and his team did a great job on our two toned deck in October 2020. The weather wasn't cooperating, however Ryan was dedicated and came for a couple of hours on different days before the rain/snow started, to move our project forward. The deck is very functional, sturdy, and beautifully designed. The project was completed a little late in the year so I didn't have time to install the new BBQ I have planed for this amazing deck. I had approached Final Touch to see if they could build a wheelchair accessible deck and boardwalk that not only helps in physio rehab therapy but serves as a emergency exit. The boardwalk would need to be built to surround half of my house and property leading into the driveway. The final result is amazing, not only was it built well within the promised time frame but the outcome is more then what I had asked for and well within the quoted budget. The way the ramps were built will be usable during all 12 months of the year and will be able to withstand all Canadian weather elements, the railings are great for support and physio therapy walking exercises. I would also like to thank Ryan and his crew for taking the time to adjust all the turning points throughout the boardwalk to enable a scooter or a hospital gurney more then enough room for turning radius. Not to mention both the deck and the boardwalk look amazing, and fit nicely into the elements of my property. The fact that they kept the work area clean and very professional was appreciated but most amazing was how far Ryan was willing to go to be able to obtain PT lumber throughout this pandemic and PT lumber shortage inorder to stay within the budget and to complete the job within the time frame he set. Ryan created the perfect backyard oasis platform. Our house does not have a patio door therefore Ryan created a two-level patio that provides the perfect amount of space and coziness (including a small landing to house the grill!). It took only three days to rebuilt my deck, 8ft by 20ft: removed the old deck in his trailer and took it to the garbage, installed a solid framing with crushed stone support, and installed a waterproof high quality PVC surface with a step all around. It was high quality work, no hassle and we had the very best communication with Ryan Cornel who was always in charge to give work to his two young assistants. My wife and I, we strongly recommend Final Touch for future projects.

Final Touch Decks and Fences were extremely professional on time and budget. Ryan did what he was contracted to do. His team replaced the back deck with pressure treated wood, rebuilt the privacy fence section with cedar (shown in the attached photos), and replaced the front porch, stairs and deck with a finished man made polyurethane board product. The workmanship was excellent. The neighbours are extremely happy with the fence. I would recommend him as these kinds of jobs are his area of expertise. I'm going to hire him to build the fence across the backyard as I know it will be done correctly. Ryan is a nice guy, a good tradesman and an honest broker.

Final Touch Decks and Fences came to my rescue after the Ottawa tornado in September 2018. The tornado took out my pool enclosure fence, so I was under a tight deadline imposed by the City to get it replaced quickly. After calling 7 fencing companies, only 3 managed to make it out to even quote the job as everyone was looking to get repairs done at the same time. Ryan was thorough in his quote, providing multiple options, and was able to fit the job into a busy schedule. The company responded to questions promptly, completed the work in the timeframe promised despite the challenges, and left the site cleaner than it was when they started. Ryan and his crew committed to meeting the restrictive timeline and erected a beautiful new cedar privacy fence, working around what ended up being every utility service line running along the old fence. A nightmare situation that was handled cautiously and expertly. And without the insurance company-gouging cost the other two companies quoted. Hoping to hire them again for some more work in the spring!
