This was my first large home renovation with a builder, and I would highly recommend Alair! They were transparent and organized during the planning and budgeting phases of the project. During the reno, the project manager was extremely knowledgeable, conscientious, and on top of things. She and the partner were excellent at communicating throughout the project. The project ran smoothly, and when there were minor issues, Alair addressed them quickly and professionally. All of the vendors used were excellent at their trades. They did an outstanding job with their craftsmanship overall, and I am very pleased with the final results.

Last May I purchased a 20-year-old lake house that was need of a remodel. I hired a great architect and began searching for a great general contractor. My focus was quality and cost. I spoke to local architects and subs for recommendations. I did a lot of online research and narrowed the list down to 4 GC’s. After interviewing all of them I decided to hire Alair Homes in Charlotte. They had a great reputation for delivering high quality, on time and on budget. I liked Alair’s direct and transparent approach to running the project. Rodger Ketchum from Alair was very experienced and knowledgeable about how to best approach the project. They use a good online tool that allowed me to see all of the sub-contractor quotes, project budget, schedule, and project progress. The team from Alair did a great job outlining the entire project before we started so I had a clear idea of what to expect and what was needed to keep the project on schedule and on budget. I had great bid drawings from my Architect that also helped outline and define the scope of the project. Of course, I added a few extra thinks along the way and we adjusted the budget and schedule to accommodate those changes. Alair assigned Dan Danger as the project manager for my remodel. Dan did an outstanding job running the project and keeping me informed along the way. He posted daily progress along with photos to keep me up to date. Dan was also good at resolving any issues that popped along the way. We moved in last month and could be happier with the outcome. The Alair team delivered a highly crafted remodel on time and on budget. I highly recommend using them.

I interviewed several firms before choosing Alair to handle the gutting, expansion and rebuilding of our kitchen, as well as the remodeling of several bathrooms. We were very please with our choice. Alair’s pre-construction and costing process made sure there were no surprises. They were happy to answer any questions and make sure we were all clear about the project. Our project manager, Dan, always responded quickly to any concerns, apprised us immediately of problems, and made sure all work was completed to our satisfaction. We continued to lived in the home during construction, and Dan made sure that the worksite was kept clean and that there was minimal disruption to our daily lives. We were particularly impressed by Alair’s subcontractors, who were not only professional and courteous, but showed up as scheduled, no small feat in this busy construction market. The project was completed in the expected timeframe, which is almost unheard of. While there might be less expensive ways to get large renovations done, if you want high quality work done on time, I highly recommend Alair.

We hired Alair Homes for a total kitchen remodel and laundry addition. They were such a pleasure to work with from the Project Managers Jennifer and Pat to James and John the guys who get it all done were fantastic!! They always kept us in the loop and were always available for any questions . They accommodated us with our needs like keeping our washer and dryer connected the whole time..which was huge with a family of 6. Our kitchen and laundry room turned out amazing. The craftsmanship is beautiful and we get so many compliments. The new kitchen has made our family closer as a unit and we owe it all to Alair Homes!! Thank you guys for everything, and would HIGHLY recommend!!!

Alair handled a major kitchen and master bath remodel for us. They did an excellent job. They started and finished on schedule and stayed within budget. Every worker interaction we had was positive. Our project manager Matt was excellent, he kept us constantly informed so there were no surprises. We lived on site during the renovations and every night the workers cleaned up after themselves. The Alair team was very knowledgeable and offered helpful suggestions during the planning and construction process. They worked extremely well with our designer (Bistaney Designs) to collaboratively design, execute and finish the project. We have done a number of renovations over the years and this was our best experience.

The entire team is Professional and easy to work with. I was provided a Budgetary Quote from which all work was executed. As we found other improvements, along the way they provided Change Orders for us to approve and add Scope to the Project. They took care to be sensitive to our needs and use of the house while working. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the collaborative nature of their project manager. The project wrapped up in time for Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holidays. We had many parties to show off all our improvements.
