Aquidneck Properties

I have worked with Aquidneck Properties on numerous projects over the years. The most recently completed is Swede Hill House, which recently won the top AIAri Honor Award. It is always a wonderful experience to work with Nick and Karyn Downes, of Aquidneck! They bring a clear vision, GREAT TASTE, and focused execution to the homes they build. The results are at once spectacular, serene, and comfortable. The Swede Hill project offers a breathtaking relationship between indoors and out. A light-filled spaciousness abounds. Nick, Karyn and their team understand what it takes to deliver the highest calibre construction. They also know how to do it with great spirit. They are unfailingly good company in the demanding process of building luxury homes.

Zuerner Design has worked with Nick Downes and Aquidneck Properties on several projects over the last 10 years. Zuerner Design provides custom cabinetry and millwork, as well is installation services. The recent Swede Hill project was the largest to date for my company with Aquidneck Properties. Nick led the project from start to finish, as always, with constant attention to detail, great communication, and a love and passion for the finish product that I rarely see. He is able to pull together a great team, and let each sub contractor do what they do best. He has always appreciated the level of quality and craftsmanship that talented subs bring to his projects. It is a pleasure to work with Nick, and I look forward to future projects.

From the very start of the Swede Hill project, I was impressed with Aquidneck Properties. Their focus on good design, sensitivety to site and attention to detail played a key role in the sucess of the job. It's been a pleasure working with Nick and his team.

I am an electrical contractor who wired the new house on Block Island at 162 Dunstown Rd, Swede Hill. I was hired by the General contractor doing the project. I worked closely with Nick Downes of Aquidneck Properties the project manager throughout the project. Nick worked closely with all contractors, in my experience working with Nick he was extremely helpful and always available in regards to making decisions. He considered problems that arose during the project as just a bump in the road. From the beginning to the end of the project Nick made it very clear that the main objective was to do the work properly and as efficient as possible. I would welcome the oppurtunity to work with Nick's company in the future.
