Bensonwood designed and built our home in Leverett Massachusetts. Our home was built in 2008 and my wife and I continue to enjoy living in this work of art. Our home is technologically innovative, extremely energy efficient and aesthetically beautiful. Our experience with Bensonwood from design through building couldn’t have been more pleasant and rewarding. We enthusiastically recommend the company and the individuals we had the pleasure to work with. Bensonwood stayed on budget and completed our project on time. The quality of work is exceptional. Bensonwood is simply outstanding!

In 2007 we hired Bensonwood to design and build our lake home on a small lot with significant zoning and set back constraints. Bensonwood did an outstanding job of achieving our design goals while satisfying all the regulatory constraints and creating an architectural masterpiece. They were wonderful to work with. They did everything extremely professionally according to the schedule and cost estimate we originally agree to and they fulfilled all verbal and written commitments they made to us. We could not have asked for anything more.

Bensonwood did a great job with a unique, superinsulated, energy efficient home. They construct the house, by sections, indoors at their facility in Walpole and then deliver and assemble it at the house site. This allows them to be more precise and end up with less waste material and less construction debris at the house site.

Unity/Bensonwood built my home in Fairlee, VT. My needs were for a small, high quality and very energy efficient home that could be built fairly quickly and would be aesthetically beautiful. I chose one of the "Unity" designs and am very happy with the result; the product is high quality and uses very advanced energy saving technology and still allowed me to customize the design a lot. The project managers have been responsive to my needs before, during and after the building process.

In 2004 my wife & I decided to build our dream home when we retired in 2006. Many of our friends and family thought we were crazy to take on such a project. Lucky for us we discovered the best building tool in the industry, Bensonwood. We had a terrific experience during the entire process (design/house raising/build/completion) which was all due to the fantastic team at Bensonwood. Even when Bensonwood’s part of the project was complete they still had our backs. They were always available for guidance and answering any questions (no matter how mundane) that came up

We recommended Bensonwood to our client in Westport, Ct after her beach cottage was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. Client and teenage daughter visited the Bensonwood factory and were impressed by work and staff alike. "Mom, we have to do this!!" was the answer our client needed. Hired for project, we then collaborated with Bensonwood to create a simple, super-tight, highly efficient farmhouse style structure that was easy to ship and to then build on site in a matter of days. The process was very state- of -the-art, professional and very educational. The staff brought unique knowledge about sustainable building under controlled environments. We would say, "we have to do this again " and would welcome the opportunity to work with Bensonwood again.

We teamed up with Bensonwood to build a new house for a client in Westport,CT. Her house was demolished by Hurricane Sandy. Bensonwood showed up with four semi-trucks loaded with panel sections and raised the house in four days. It was fascinating to watch the house go together as the crane unloaded each piece in sequence and put the pieces together like a puzzle. The Bensonwood team was very proficient and gave us a weather tight structure before leaving the site. It was a pleasure working with all the different departments at Bensonwood as they were always ready to find an answer or walk us through anything that came up. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Bensonwood in the future.

We collaborated with Bensonwood when building our timberframe home in 2003 and I have never been more delighted with anything I have ever spent money on before or since. The entire experience was wonderful. They helped turn my design and dreams into reality. I got to spend a day in their shop with chisel and mallet, cutting joints in our frame. I joined the crew to raise the frame, and I was even the one who nailed the pine bough to the peak. Every member of their team from Ted Benson himself to the design staff, project stewards, timber and panel manufacturers and raising crew were incredibly professional, friendly and laser-focused on improving the entire building process. Now, after living in my timberframe home for over 10 years, I continue to be completely delighted. The world is a better place because Ted Benson and Bensonwood Homes are in it.

Excellent firm. Every employee is courteous & extremely knowledgeable. They listen to your wants and needs & devise a plan around that. Very professional. Beautiful wood-working. All builders should strive to reach their level. Definitely recommend them as number one for a timber frame home.
