We purchased land in Damascus and hired Birdsmouth Design-Build to create a custom passive house in a farmhouse style. Working with our Birdsmouth architect, Tammy, was a great pleasure. She and the team met with us over Zoom during the lockdown. She helped us to design a home that was perfect for our rural retirement. Our Birdsmouth site manager, Botts, was on-site every day with a small team of hard-working perfectionists! They made sure that everything was done right, the job site was organized and clean, and their subs worked at their same high standards. The entire team at Birdsmouth is top-notch. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their craft of building high-quality, highly-efficient houses. We enjoyed the process and we love our new house!

We hired Birdsmouth to build an ADU on our property and had an exceptional experience with them. The team was very good at balancing our cost needs with green building - the building ended up far exceeding our expectations on energy efficiency. Our project manager and site managers were fantastic - great at their jobs, very knowledgeable and enjoyable professionals to work with. They kept our project almost perfectly on schedule as well - no small feat in the construction world with subcontractors. The end result is a beautiful, energy efficient little home. I highly recommend Birdsmouth!

My wife and I were interested in building a passive house for our retirement in Portland. We wanted to choose a builder whom we could trust because our primary residence is not within commute distance. We chose Birdsmouth Construction after meeting with a couple of builders, and we liked the fact that they were committed to educating others about high-efficiency construction by sponsoring Passive House Northwest conferences. We were fortunate to have a flexible timeline, and Birdsmouth’s design-build philosophy fit well with our construction schedule. Having Josh, Ben and Jessica involved with the design phase of the project made it easier for them to know our wishes in the final product. Josh’s knowledge and enthusiasm made the design-build strategy progress smoothly. Ben deserved credit for making the space as versatile as possible while designing a concept that suited our needs. We find that we will be able to use much of our older furniture. As project manager, Jessica kept us informed about the progress of our house. She also really helped us achieve all of the great live-in features, while we were so focused on things like drainage, air flow, color schemes and universal design. Jon did a fantastic job supervising the worksite. We really trusted Jon to maximize the building quality, and we like what we can see as well as what we can feel. Our neighbors commented on the professionalism and friendliness of the workers. We enjoyed working with Birdsmouth Construction and would recommend them as partners in creating your high-efficiency project.

We selected Birdsmouth to remodel our mudroom, kitchen/dining room and powder room. In addition, our wood floors and staircase banister were refinished. It was a pleasure to work with such an organized, efficient company performing quality workmanship. Josh the owner; Jessica the project manager and John the site manager were outstanding. We would definitely use them again for any other home improvement project. Josh clearly communicated the details of the project and stayed within our budget and completion date. Jessica was highly organized, kept us informed and had good communication skills. She kept the project moving along to meet deadlines and solved any issues in a timely fashion. John was extremely hard working, an exceptional craftsman with an eye for detail and worked to ensure that we were satisfied with the project. His friendliness and calm personality were an added bonus. Birdsmouth hired wonderful sub contractors, who all did a fantastic job with the quality of work provided. We would highly recommend Birdsmouth for any building project because of their professionalism and incredible workmanship.

We hired Birdsmouth when we purchased a new house with unique construction (SIPS panels) and evidence of poor installation of siding and windows. The Birdsmouth team proved to be exceptional craftsmen, environmental experts, and solid, reliable humans. Over a six-month period, the crew showed up on time every day, worked hard, communicated well, and ensured we were satisfied with their work. Our neighbors still talk about how friendly they were, and while we don't miss the construction, we miss the crew. Our house looks incredible, and I can sleep at night knowing the water is outside.

We are so happy with our Kitchen Remodel from Birdsmouth! A first class job, which was even finished before the scheduled date, and at a lower cost too. We are also so impressed with our Project Manager, Beth Campbell. She is not only very experienced and knowledgable, but is also a very caring person. It was a joy to find that her level of professionalism exceeded our expectations. If we ever want to do another project, we will certainly request her for the Project Manager again. Altogether, it was so great to deal with an organization that takes pride in it’s work, and really cares about the client’s satisfaction.

Birdsmouth Construction is a professional, responsible, friendly, responsive, and thorough company. We worked with the wonderful, owner Josh and a stellar architect/project manager Jonathan to remodel our kitchen and make some other improvements to our home during summer/fall 2016. We could not have asked for a better team. They worked well with our architect, our budget, our timeline, our complicated family constraints (a pregnancy and early birth!), and our expectations. We were impressed with the crews that they brought into the house, who were courteous, responsive, thorough, and *very* tidy. We were also impressed with their communication - they made themselves available for in-person meetings, phone meetings, and lots of email communication. They were up front and honest about costs, implications of choosing different materials and fixtures, and the reality of the construction process. They were patient with us (we know nothing about construction and are fussy about details). The individuals we worked with have a great sense of humor and a real eye and passion for eco-friendly construction. They were ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. And the work that they did has held up amazingly well. It's now been a year and we really love the kitchen they built us and the craftsmanship that went along with it. Can't say enough good about these guys and recommend them highly.

Birdsmouth completed a 795 square foot ADU for me in October of 2016. I couldn't be more pleased with them. They were clear communicators, managed the project beautifully and it was completed on time and on budget. Every member of their team has obvious pride in their work and are thoughtful about every detail. Birdsmouth operates with a high level of integrity and transparency- I found them to be trustworthy, fair and highly skilled. They built a gorgeous, highly efficient building that makes me happy every day.

We hired Birdsmouth to do a remodel of our three bathrooms. From the initial contact to the finish, they were outstanding. They responded immediately to our initial inquiry, have an estimate to us quickly, and had great ideas about how to affordable do the remodel. We had a fantastic project manager who was always available for questions and who checked in regularly and kept us updated daily. The subcontractors were fantastic, both in terms of customer service and quality of work. Our bathrooms turned out amazing far exceeding what we expected. We could not be more pleased with Birdsmouth - almost makes us want to embark on another project already!

We worked with Birdsmouth on a whole home renovation and addition for a 1920's Dutch Colonial. Birdsmouth's professionalism, attention to detail, and home performance knowlege made for a successful partnership. As a team, we were able to give our clients great design and a well crafted home for a busy family of four.

I recently hired Birdsmouth Construction to remodel my garage with overhead studio space, and turn it into an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) for short term rental at first, and possibly to live in myself eventually. I was very happy with the final result, and they were a pleasure to work with. Josh and Jason were pleasant, professional, on time and very efficient. Even though the budget ended up being higher than originally estimated, it was money well worth spending. I would definitely recommend them!
