Boren did a wonderful remodel for us after our house on Soundview Drive was flooded by a burst pipe. They were always very professional and courteous. Billing was clear and accurate. We ended up with something much better than what we started with. Would recommend highly.

I am an individual who believes in chance encounters, from waterfront acreage sitting idle for several years to meeting LeRoy Boren and his team at Boren Construction. Boren was the only builder I interviewed, as a result of the verbal responses when asking about local builders on Whidbey Island. The responses were all Identical. “Boren Construction is the premier, high end custom home builder on the island, and he is the best!” LeRoy is beyond this statement. Living two states away with my entire design team on Whidbey Island, LeRoy Boren had the burden of being involved with every single aspect of my project from its inception, site design and stability, checking architectural renderings, design and flow of the home in relationship to the site. LeRoy managed the entire project, permitting, engineering, site excavation, materials, working with my interior designer and architectural challenges. LeRoy provided me with timely updates through each phase of the project, changes in budgetary line items, always making you fully aware of a cost increases, while offering possible and relevant alternatives. His easy rapport with his own team, the subcontractors, engineers, planning department, my designer and architect, provided me with achievable and workable solutions when issues arose. Working with LeRoy and the team was an exceptional experience! We had never built a house before and they held our hands every step of the way. We managed to complete the project from out of state AND during a pandemic. We were unable to be on site throughout the process, but the team communicated with us regularly. LeRoy responded to calls, texts, and emails immediately. His team sent photos and connected with us over Zoom. We put our total faith in Boren Construction and the end product is even better than we could have imagined. They truly read our minds! Highly recommend!

We hired Boren Construction to remodel our guest cottage after an exhaustive search for a contractor on Whidbey Island, WA. From the beginning, they were transparent with us about pricing and were open about trade offs during decision making throughout the project. We liked that they use a program where we could view 3rd party invoices and track conversations based on categories so we don't have to search emails or documentation to recall decisions we made in months prior. Throughout the build process, our project manager, Mark, was in constant communication with us and never once did we feel that things were falling through the cracks. He worked well with our designer, Elizabeth, of Stretch Design, which was important to us as this was our fourth project with her. Mark's attention to detail and expectation of quality are as high as ours so we didn't have to worry if things would be done correctly. If something wasn't right, Mark would stop and confirm things with us, rather than ignoring the situation and hoping we wouldn't notice. We appreciate the the fair and ethical way Boren conducts business and will hire them again based on the standards they hold themselves and their trade partners to. In the end, we LOVE our guest cottage and so do our guests! It's everything we hoped for and more.

While my husband and I were very excited about building our forever home on Whidbey Island, I was full of anxiety as the whole process felt so overwhelming. My husband, a designer and artist, had always wanted to build and design his own home. I wasn’t so sure. But when we sat down with LeRoy Boren, all of those fears started melting away. I felt much calmer and knew immediately that this very personable, knowledgeable and professional man and his team could gently and confidently lead us through every step of the way. And they did. Not only has the work been of the utmost quality which was extremely important to us to get everything just right, equally important has been their honestly, transparency and accessibility. And if we ran into any issues, they would find a great solution that fit perfectly with the design intent. We are so fortunate to have found them as we are now living in our beautiful home which was not so long ago just a dream.

We just finished construction of our new home on Whidbey Island and LeRoy Boren was our contractor. We can't say enough about his professionalism, honesty, and communication throughout the project. We ran into a water issue halfway through the project and LeRoy took the time to make sure we understood all our options and made sure we remediated it so that we didn't have to worry about it after construction. He is fair and direct, and adapts to your communication style. He's also a great project manager, do what he said he would do, on schedule. Boren Construction recently completed our new waterfront estate in Anacortes, WA. The project was complex due to site constraints, architectural and interior design elements, as well as integrating home automation technology. Some of the atypical challenges required coordinating with a project team that was outside of the State of Washington- this included the Architect, Interior Designer, the home automation system designer, as well as custom material vendors. Having built a few luxury homes in the past, I can honestly say this home is of the highest quality- likely due to the team that built it. They were highly organized and diligent in updating schedules and analyzing costs as the project progressed. LeRoy was always available to answer questions, provide updates, and he always returned phone calls on a timely basis. His subcontractor base was professional, friendly, and dependable. I would highly recommend Boren Construction to anyone that is looking to build a home or estate of architectural significance.

We were fortunate enough to find Boren Construction as we were seeking a builder for our new home. LeRoy Boren understood our vision and expanded on it to create a house that exceeded our expectations. He has strong design skills as well as being a top notch contractor. Some of his strengths include: Provided creative yet practical solutions and came up with many excellent ideas that we implemented. Open minded to our (sometimes impractical) suggestions, willing to accommodate our ideas, yet providing useful advice to keep us on track. Good natured, having a builder easy to get along with should not be underestimated, he helped make a stressful process more enjoyable and he was patient with our construction learning curve. The final quality is outstanding and we credit LeRoy with creating a beautiful home that we absolutely love. We can’t say enough positive things about Boren Construction, and recommend them without hesitation.

LeRoy Boren was our choice after interviewing several competitors. Building a new home is a long, complicated process, particularly complicated in this case because the home is owned by two couples rather than one, and because the four owners had to oversee the construction from long distance as none of us lives in the area. One of the reasons we chose LeRoy was because of his use of Co-Construct software which is interactive and allows owners and contractors to talk, ask questions, discuss choices, monitor budgets and progress and post pictures. This tool along with Leroy's excellent communication skills were essential. But more importantly, it was LeRoy's own honesty and integrity and the quality of his (and his sub's) work that was most impressive. Design choices, materials, fit and finish are all top quality, from the Ipe decking that never needs maintenance to the hardwood cabinets, floors and quartz counter tops. He moved us along in our decision making so that we would make our deadlines and advised us of ways to cut costs. Leroy was incredibly patient with all four of us. He was able to navigate us through the process of building our house and make choices that maintained the integrity of our beautifully designed home. We would highly recommend LeRoy and Boren Construction to anyone.

It is always a pleasure working with LeRoy Boren. He responds quickly to inquiries and questions. Using a good design sense and extensive practical construction knowledge, LeRoy works with the client, designer, and engineer to identify the decisions to be made and the options available (which can seem overwhelming at times!), to make smart design choices. Familiar with the permitting process and site infrastructure requirements, LeRoy works to facilitate an efficient and thorough permit submittal and construction drawing package. He is organized and transparent with budgeting and schedule using the latest digital and online technology to communicate (as well as the "old fashioned” face-to-face meeting and phone call). LeRoy works diligently to construct a project that is cost effective, on-time and, above all, well-built and beautiful.

We searched Whidbey Island for a reliable professional contractor to tear down and replace three decks and a front stairway. This rebuild also included installing two sliding glass doors for the back, which has a nice view. One door is a standard size the other is a twelve footer with sidelights. This entailed removing the end walls, installing new headers and framing. The work was done by professionals, (they were very professional), who did excellent work. We put in expensive decking and cable railing. The decks look great and the doors look great and the cable railing helps enhance our view allowing us to look through it. The change after the doors were installed was amazing! The whole room opened up and the view is great with vistas of the Olympics, clouds and sky! Leroy Boren is an honest and fair man and worked with us to institute several changes we made after the project was started. We would not hesitate use him again in the future.

We hired Boren Construction for a tear down, design and re-build of our lake home. I have to believe we are his most difficult (if not time consuming clients) to date. We are 2 families sharing a vacation home in Langley, Washington. To complicate matters 1 family is living in Sarajevo, the other in Portland, Oregon. After interviewing 4 contractors we decided on Boren Construction. We were impressed with everyone we interviewed, but we chose Boren because LeRoy was able to show us step by step how he was going to communicate with us and how we could have real-time updates on selections, budget, materials all through his interactive software (co-construct). We are ahead of schedule and within .5% of budget because of LeRoy's attention to detail. Time and again every subcontractor from lighting, flooring, plumbing, cabinets, everyone that has worked with LeRoy have said they love working with LeRoy because of his attention to detail. That attention means no cost overruns for us, no unnecessary change orders and completing our home on time. We give Boren Construction our highest possible recommendation!
