Our daughter who was living with us has started a family and needed a place of their own. We decided an Assessory Dwelling Unit would make the most sense for all of us. The design, permitting, inspections. etc were difficult for our lot. Richard & Leo were recommended to me by my future son-in law who has an HVAC company on Cape Cod. He has worked with many contractors and introduced us. We have been very happy with every step of the way. They built for us a one bedroom ADU, aprox 800 sq ft.. Nice big kitchen, Living room, office and bathroom. New septic system and roof for both houses. The time it took matched the contract. The price was fair and as agreed to. We only decided to upgrade our new stove to Induction and added tiles in the kitchen. The quality of workmanship from start to finish was excellent. They also helped with removing a wall in the existing house so we kept the homes to three bedrooms total. Upgraded the electrical service to handle both homes. Leo is the best! he responds immediately if you call. His experience, dedication and friendly attitude is impressive. Richard's design skills helped us so much.

We are finishing up a whole house remodel with an addition. This was a huge project, and our initial estimates for completion was 9 months. It's just shy of 7 months, and we are almost done! Leo and his crew worked day and night to make this happen. From our first design meetings until the end, Leo and Richard guided us through everything. They were always responsive with our questions and concerns, and helped us keep costs down whenever possible. Our 1970s ranch is now a beautiful modern showplace! Cape Cod Remodeling was highly recommended to us by friends, and now I am happy to recommend them to others.

My husband and I are having our home in Mashpee MA remodeled by Cape Cod Remodeling. Richard and Leo have been fabulous to work with on this project. They have communicated with us the entire time. If I had a question, I would receive a call or text immediately. I knew where we were every step of the way. The workmanship is superb. We are having 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, the kitchen, fireplace, all the floors sanded and stained. We also had new treads put on the staircase . One of the best features we added was nickel shiplap. I am extremely pleased with the results. The home is now 50% complete. Paul and I finally found the house on the Cape that we had been looking for! It had been a long search over many years, but we found a classic Cape Cod that had good bones. We had a vision to take the 1949 home through a renovation and to add a garage and guest suite to then settle in for the next chapter of our lives. Cape Cod Remodeling was selected for the project because of the immediate rapport that was established when Richard answered the first phone call!! Richard Avery and Leo Sampaio were professional, talented, organized, and personable. The project from start to finish was done with clear communication and attention to detail. The extensive remodel of the main house started with the kitchen including vaulting the ceiling, two bathrooms, opening a wall or two, removing an antique furnace and radiators, installing new HVAC and bringing all electrical and plumbing up to current code. The entire interior of the house was painted. The one car attached garage and breezeway was converted to a sunroom, mud room, laundry and small office. The addition of a two car garage and guest suite above included a full bath. We added a farmer’s porch and had the patio off the kitchen replaced. The driveway was redone and the yard was leveled and reseeded after the construction of the garage was completed. The team that Richard and Leo put together were on schedule and on budget. We must stress that the quality of the craftsmanship that went into all aspects of the construction and finish work was excellent. Any budget changes were made because we made scope changes along the way, but those were done with careful consideration of the budget and overall design vision. I worked with Leo on site for most of the detail work and he is one of the best in the business. Leo solved design issues with creativity and built custom solutions with attention to detail and a sense of the design vision that always added to the project. Richard and I worked on the project schedule, the permitting process with the Town and the overall budget. Communication was excellent throughout the entire project. Together, Richard and Leo were easy to work with and we ended the project in record time (8 months beginning to end) considering the project worked through the winter and we had some public utility delays. It is important to note that any sub contractor who worked with us was coordinated through Richard and Leo. That simple detail ensured that the sub contractors showed up and finished their part of the project on time. The subcontractors were excellent and an integral part of the team. The entire Cape Cod Remodeling team were professional, motivated, and more than happy to help with any item that came up over the eight months we worked together. We can not thank all of the team enough for their work ethic and courtesy on our project. Paul and I are very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Cape Cod Remodeling for any size project.

Richard Avery was the consummate professional when he did major bathroom renovations in our Chatham house in 2016 . He was courteous in demeanor, stuck with his schedules and we were very happy with the final product(s). You don't have to worry about this contractor disappearing when the work is done. He stays with you until you are completely satisfied! Over the last few years he has done additional smaller jobs for us. Even in this very difficult time when you expect a contractor to be unavailable unless it's a big job he continues to respond to our needs. I recommend Mr. Avery without any reservation!

We first met Richard Avery back in 2012 when he did a conversion in our house. His final cost did not change from his original proposal. He was on the job each day, conversed with us each day and completely met our expectations including completing the job on time. When we bid out our addition in late 2019, Richard won the bid with fair price and a realistic timeframe. The difficulty was coming up with a price because the addition was drawn up by me on a napkin that he converted to an architectural drawing. Again, Richard was on the job daily & worked through our minor changes. His point person that worked the job through all the finishes was Leo. Richard helped us remodel an 1800’s Captain’s house. As you can imagine, removing walls, redoing floors, electrical, full kitchen remodel, etc can be very intricate with an old house. Richard and his team did a fantastic job helping to design and engineer the project. As well as project manage and perform the necessary work. All on time and within budget! Living across the country for most of the time while the work was being performed, Richard was able to keep us well informed on progress and looped is in when situations arose that needed our attention. The design and planning stage was easy due to Richard’s knowledge of town regulations, the size of my property and historical district requirements. Richard put together a detailed contract that links the work schedule with a payment plan. Prior to the beginning of the project, Richard brought every professional who would be working on my property by to meet me. He was in constant communication, both by phone and dropping by daily to check in on the project. We just finished updating our home with Richard Avery and his team at Cape Cod Remodeling. This is the fourth home that we have renovated and Richard is, by far, the BEST contractor we have worked with. The project included gutting and remodeling three full baths, removing small rooms to create a large, open space on the third floor, with a new half bath, relocating laundry to second floor, adding moldings to second floor hall, removing old baseboard heat and updating with a new hydro air HVAC system. Sounds do-able, right? Now, let me add that the home was built in 1834 and most of the original plumbing and cast iron pipes were still embedded in those old plaster/horsehair walls! With any old home, there are bound to be surprises, but Richard is the ultimate problem solver! Any issue that we encountered was discussed right away and collectively; we all came up with creative solutions. His team of professionals – plumber, electrician, tile installer, and most important, his right hand man Elio, were courteous and patient, as we lived in the house through the whole project. Richard was also a great listener and collaborator, as we were very involved in the design phase and lent his expertise when we were unsure how to proceed. Except for a few overages, which were all agreed upon during the project, we came in very close to our original budget. He was on site every day, often multiple times, to ensure everything was going to plan. He also is an excellent communicator, and would sit down with us each week to update us on the project. The end result is a beautiful new, old home that our family and friends can enjoy. When we get ready to embark on tackling the kitchen, Richard Avery will be our first call! In Richard Avery of Cape Cod Remodeling, I found this building professional. The key to any good 'relationship' is communication and respect. The design process I have had with Richard, highlights these points. I have been listened to & heard, as I had a strong concept in my 'mind's eye', and Richard worked with me to fine tune it, to what would be structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing, giving solid feedback as the process progressed. We were referred to Richard Avery by a family member who had used him. The quality of his work was beyond reproach. He delivered the project on tme and on budget, in spite of water issues. Because our construction was on the water, part of the job was to navigate through a series of high hurdles set by municipal and state regulators. The project that was ultimately approved pretty much as proposed. Richard not only worked neat, but stood behind the quality of his work, even after the job was finished and punch list completed. Working with Richard was a great experience - we renovated a second home long-distance and he made it as easy a process as possible. I was very worried about doing such a huge renovation long distance, but he made the process simple - he sent tons of photos and we made decisions quickly together when they needed to be made. Not only was his work impeccable, but he was really good at communication - he always returned my calls and emails promptly and sent us tons of photos along the way. Of course, there were one or two minor glitches, there always are with a huge renovation, but the once or twice (and it was really only once or twice) something was done incorrectly, it was remedied immediately. There were two little (and I mean really little) things that needed to be fixed after the completion of the project - we texted Richard about them and they were fixed almost immediately and completely. Richard really stands by his work. Richard stayed on schedule and on-budget and the finished project really looks amazing - we were thrilled with the project and will definitely be calling Richard back whenever we do phase II of the renovations. To give you an idea of the scope of the project - we converted an attached garage to live-able space, which involved raising floors/insulation/etc., expanded & gutted the kitchen, added a mudroom/powder room/laundry room, and gutted the 2 existing bathrooms.

Richard Avery has been the consummate professional. We used Richard to do a master bath last winter in a 1986 constructed house that had leaky pipes and we needed it done before the rental season. During the project Richard sent progress pictures which we loved. It was done in a timely manner and we are pleased with the finished product and so we have contracted with Richard for another project 3x the value of the original project. Richard worked with my wife on design ideas and was patient, creative and cost conscious throughout. Any small problems that arose were addressed and fixed, and they were minor. Pricing was competitive with our area and did not deviate upon completion. I would recommend without reservations.

After numerous phone calls and several estimates with other general contractors, we knew Richard Avery understood our needs for a remodel on our 1920s era house. His preliminary review of the project was thorough. He identified potential problems that could not be included in the original budget (e.g., rotten roof rafters which couldn't be seen without removing roof materials). Therefore, there were very few surprises. Our contract was detailed with a rational payment plan. Richard had the permits on Day 1 and demolition began on Day 3. He is communicative, responsive, and well organized. We enjoyed and looked forward to our "daily Richard update." (Prior to Richard, we had hired several contractors who didn't return phone calls and disappeared from the job for a lengthy amount of time.) The project was completed ahead of schedule. Richard has past all expectations in our building process! He is way ahead of his game. We demolished our house in October and he has already poured the foundation,framed and roofed our house ,complete with windows installed ...all by January 15th! My wife and I had recently purchased a 3 bedroom ranch house in Dennis, MA (Cape Cod). The house is over 30 years old and was all original. We wanted to redo the entire place and two of our neighbors had used Richard and based on their recommendation we called and made an appointment to meet at the house. Our first meeting was in January and we went through all we wanted done. This included: new kitchen, appliances, enclosing a screened in porch and making it a year round room, adding 1/2 bath and washer/dryer rooms in this new room, replacing updating existing full bath with tile floor and new vanity/toilet, removing all carpeting throughout whole house and replacing with a wide plank engineered floor, removing paneling in living room and replacing with sheet rock, removing wall between kitchen and living room (involved adding support beam) and building island with marble top in its place to create a open floor plan, add recess lighting in living room/kitchen/and new room, open doorway up from kitchen to new room to create open flow through the rooms, add forever view door to front of house, gas grill valve to outside of house, new back light fixture, new white doors throughout entire house, add small utility closet that would house tankless water heater, build mantle over living room fire place, add outlets/cable over fireplace to have flat screen television, replace light switches with new rocker panel/dimer switches, new floor molding trim throughout and a new ceiling fan in new room. BIG LIST...and we live in NJ and cannot be there more than once or twice! Richard was wonderful. He sent us a proposal after the meeting and after discussing we signed contract and he filed for permits. Throughout the process he kept us informed on all that was going on via phone calls, texts and a few e-mails. We met with him just three times at the house over 4 months and he always confirmed the meetings the day before and was always there before our arrival with the doors open and the snow cleared. It was one of the worse winters on Cape Cod. As work proceeded he would always send pictures which we loved. Payments were always spread out and never asked for more than he needed to accomplish the next step of the job. I have done a similar remodel to my current home in NJ and have worked with a builder to build a beach house at the Jersey Shore and without hesitation I can say Richard was the best contractor I have worked with. As we approach the last week of the job I can honestly say it was a pleasure to work with Richard and highly recommend his company to anyone needing work done.
