Clint is very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to work with. He is very professional and communicates clearly in meetings and exchanges, is efficient and solution oriented. We had Carlson Homes build our custom home in 2014. Working with Clint and his team was a great experience. They were very professional, caring and willing to walk you through the many phases of a new construction. The workmanship was top notch and the project was completed on time.

Clint Carlson built our home on the Big Island of Hawaii (5 bedrooms/5baths/7 car carport/pavilion and in-ground pool). He is a superb builder, meticulous in details, on budget, and ready to help you design/ build the home YOU want. His workmanship is outstanding. His crews are professional and hard-working He gave us an estimate that turned out to be almost right on the bottom line. I always tell people who ask about him that he's like "EF Hutton" - when he gives you a quote you can take it to the bank! He will not underbid a job just to get the work. He does not believe in presenting people with "surprises" cost wise once he gets a job. Clint also believes in bringing you solutions when a problem does arise. He does not just drop the problem in your lap to deal with alone. We have been very pleased with his work. We have lived in the house since Oct 2009 and it still looks like it was just built. Once Clint has finished your home, that doesn't mean you never hear from again. His personal motto is once a client always a client. He is willing to continue working with you long after the home is built. He is no longer just our contractor. He is our friend. He is now part of our O'hana (family). We are so very happy we chose Carlson Homes!

We enthusiastically and highly recommend Carlson Homes as a builder. As ‘mainlanders’, we had no idea which contractor would provide us the best result. Based on comments, we were told that we wouldn’t be able to afford Carlson Homes but Clint came in with the lowest and most detailed bid so we knew everything that we initially wanted was included in his bid. Their finish work is immaculate and when change orders were made, the cost was more than reasonable. Clint championed our cause on several issues with the building supplier. I only made one trip over to view progress, not that I needed to, but wanted to see everything in person. Clint provided us with photos via email on a regular basis which allowed us to see what was happening and to ask questions. If there was a significant issue or problem, Clint would call me to get my input. When we needed help on making decisions regarding color changes, tile, etc., Clint’s recommendations were ‘spot on’. Towards the end of the project I just told Clint to make the choice because I knew I couldn’t make a better one. We have ended up with a beautiful dream house that could have easily been portrayed in any of the home magazines.
