This company should be out of business. The owner declared bankruptcy and unfortunately left many people holding the bag. I am one of them.

Unfortunately there are not negative stars. So glad I didn't do the larger part of the job: to put in a staircase to the basement. Cicrumstances delayed that project so they did the smaller portion of the project: replace six steps in the front entry way and a basement entry door. I gave him a 5K deposit. They replaced the stairs and door. Obviously I had a refund due since 6 steps and a door should not cost $5K. Called and left MANY messages to no avail. Never received refund. Came highly recomended as a reputable and trustworthy contractor. His story was compelling because he, once, was duped by a contractor. Interesting how he became that very contractor!

We reached out directly to Eric after Catalyst had to close. Eric's help with the close out of our project was key. After Catalyst closed, we spoke, and he helped us finish our kitchen with no cost. My husband and I were EXTREMELY frustrated that the "process" didn't work for us! Between Catalyst and Eric Udelhoven, we were able to get our kitchen done. Eric was actually very knowledgeable and worked personally on the finishing touches on the cabinets.

Catalyst has declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy, after walking off the job site at over a dozen projects with work outstanding. I personally had paid more than 50% of the balance of my project, with other contractors estimating that less than 20% of the work had been completed.

If I could put negative stars for something I would. One of the worst human beings I have ever encountered. We hired this contractor in late 2018 because we were in the process of having a baby and he convinced us that he was trust worthy. He started the job and took a substantial amount of our money. His team member Amy Wettersten helped us to pick out most of our finished materials. Not only did he not complete any of the work specified under the contract, he would not return our money nor the materials we purchased, including those materials we had purchased directly and he was holding in his warehouse. Come to find out the materials Amy had helped us pick out and we paid for in full he not only did not put a deposit down for he did not pay for at all. He left the job site without telling us and would not return our phone calls, all while he knew that we had a 3 month old at home. This is not only one extremely unprofessional and horrible contractor but a extremely horrible human being.

Hired Eric Udelhoven and Catalyst Construction in the summer of 2018 for a inside remodel of our family owned business, project cost was $89K. He came recommended from someone and also was a neighbor in the same town I’m in LaGrange, IL. The Project was started in Early Fall 2018. •Every single month there was issues. •Poor communication. •Unfulfilled Expectations. •Fraud type money management. •Subcontractors were not paid. All in all turned into a nightmare of a project. Paid Catalyst for around 80% of the project while they only completed 55% or the work. Right around mid February 2019, the company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. About $15-$18K of our monies were lost in thin air, also the subcontractor was screwed for about $18K. After confronting him, for an explanation, none was really given, felt that there was no remorse for all the wrongs he did to many ppl. No True apologies. Would never do Business with Eric and any Company he’s affiliated ever again. Aldo M.

Failure to fulfill construction contract. Poor quality of work that was done. Owner Eric does not return phone calls, does not pay subcontractors and pulled people of the job and won't supply materials for job after trying to collect money for work that wasn't done.

The materials are great and they worked with us to get just what we wanted in our kitchen. The care, courtesy and respect they have shown our family and home is beyond awesome. I would absolutely recommend Catalyst Construction and Remodeling to anyone!

Catalyst Construction and Remodeling upgraded our master bathroom recently. They followed through on everything that was promised. From budget, to the timeline, attention to detail and promptness they were fantastic. We love our new bathroom! Thumbs up!

We remodel our kitchen and bathroom last May and couldn’t be happier working with them. All projects were similarly on schedule and on budget. Their workmanship was a big expectation and I must say that I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Our project manager and designer were so professional throughout the entire planning. – Very helpful in choosing the materials and drawing up the detailed plans and after two weeks, they show me the final 3D Design of the bathroom and kitchen, and I was very excited that time to build it. Now, we so much enjoy our remodeled kitchen and bathroom, not only the bathroom and kitchen more functional, but different design features added appeal. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation.

This company renovated my bathroom and all the people I worked with Catalyst were so professional and worked with me so kindly and very patient on everything planning, designing, budgeting to ordering, etc. etc. Overall, my experience was really a good one and I am very happy with the work they’ve done. I’d absolutely recommend them for your home project.

I am very happy that I choose Catalyst. They were friendly, professional and very responsive to my call and also by e-mail and they did beautiful work. I had a very tight timeline and they did all they had to do to make it work. They were honest about materials prices. Also, very knowledgeable on suggesting ideas, recommendations without upselling or add extra charges and very flexible when I made some changes. They were a life saver so many times through the entire process. I really admire them I can’t thank them enough for making a great transformation of my home. It was so beautiful and couldn’t be happier with it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
