When we decided to buy our new house we knew that we would want to renovate significant parts of it, so we asked Jay and Guy to come and take a look and quote us for the work. We had seen the quality of Catlin's work in the past and so it was an easy decision to trust them with the work. Firstly, they identified issues that had not been picked up by the building inspection and needed to be remediated but listened to what we wanted and quoted accordingly. At no point did we feel pressured and in the end we decided to renovate the whole property. What impressed us the most is there were no short cuts, everything was up to Code, properly permitted and inspected and nothing was too much trouble. The quality of their work is also outstanding. The total renovations took 4 months to complete, were delivered on time and within budget. All of the trades were easy to work with, respectful and always willing to help. This was the same feedback we had from our neighbors. Overall we give Catlin 5 stars and would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for a trusted contractor. We are very happy with our New Property and have the comfort of knowing that everything has been done properly and will last for many years to come.

Team Catlin recently completed the complete rebuild of our family home of 22 years, after a devastating total loss fire. We had previously worked with Jay on our main floor renovation 2 years before the fire. Given the circumstances, we wanted to work with someone familiar. Although at this point, Jay was early in his custom home building career, his passion and knowledge was what drew us to give him the job. Catlin provided us with a star-studded team to build our dream home. From the initial collaboration with Kelly in the office, to the design with Nicole of Services Rendered and the expertise of the contracting crew... not to mention the incredible oversight of PM Guy, we felt our new home was in the right hands. Throughout the entire process, the team was respectful of our situation (sometimes it was hard to make decisions without getting emotional), tidy and very outgoing. Never did a day go by where we felt we couldn’t approach anyone on site and ask questions or make changes. A memory we will never forget, was when the crew was working on Remembrance Day. We looked outside at 11:00 and the crew was gathered, taking a moment of silence. It was such a small gesture, but truly showed the character of these men. We would like to thank Team Catlin for their incredible dedication to helping us rebuild our lives- a position we never thought we’d be in. An amazing team of professionals (reliable, friendly, responsive, courteous) - we highly recommend Catlin Inc. for any project, large or small! We started looking for contractor in mid-2019 to complete a renovation of our main floor which included the removal of walls, a new kitchen, new powder room, moving the laundry room to the main level, a new fireplace, flooring, painting, as well a new staircase. Our project was complicated by the need to address a load-bearing wall. Jay and his team won us over by providing ideas and solutions to the issues on hand versus the patchwork solutions proposed by others. Catlin gained our trust by (i) having an engineer walk us through the changes, (ii) involving a wonderful designer (Nicole) who created a beautiful and functional layout to meet our unique needs and (iii) Jay taking us to one of Catlin's renovations to illustrate their workmanship and to show how the structural elements would be managed. Their vision enabled the main level renovation to exceed our desires. From start to finish the Catlin team (led by Jay and project manager Chase) were amazing. They provided detailed updates and always had time for our many questions. Our renovation started just before the Covid lock down and they were able to manage the various issues presented with ease and professionalism. The finished project is wonderful. We are so happy with the outcome. It is a dream come true!!!  

We are a family of six and we were starting to outgrow our house. We love the area and didn't want to move so we decided to build an addition over our garage. We requested quotes from three contractors and in the end selected Catlin to complete the work as well as update all of the exterior cladding. Of all the quotes we received, Catlin's was by far the most detailed and comprehensive. It included a scope of work, timelines, materials, allotments, etc. This type of thoroughness would become apparent in all of their work From the start, Jay and Nigel kept us informed of the progress, any outstanding issues and cost overruns. Requests for changes outside of the scope were handled promptly and efficiently, and they were quick to lend their professional expertise and recommend changes where necessary. Nigel and his team were onsite nearly every day, kept the worksite clean and made sure to tidy up when they were done. They were also very easy to contact, making themselves available via email and text, and always replying to our questions and requests in a timely manner. They extended this level of communication to our neighbours, speaking with them if they had questions or concerns and generally doing their best to keep them informed. Now that the work is done we have received nothing but compliments from our neighbours, strangers walking down the street and even delivery people. All of them comment on the quality of work and attention to detail. We would not hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to someone looking for a company that truly takes pride in their work.

Catlin Inc. oversaw the renovation of our entire main floor (removal of walls, new kitchen, new fireplace, doors, windows, flooring, painting), a new staircase, new en suite bathroom, a new powder room in our basement, and the move of our laundry room from the main floor to the basement. Jay Catlin and his team were very reliable and professional through the entire process. We received regular communication on the progress and were asked for our input on preferences wherever possible, which we really appreciated. No renovation comes without surprises. If he was presented with anything unexpected, Jay brought it to our attention immediately and provided options as to how to move forward. We can't say enough good things about our experience, and would highly recommend to anyone looking at doing a large scale renovation.

We hired Catlin Inc for a main floor renovation of our home that included the kitchen, dining, living, and powder rooms. The Catlin team provided excellent and valuable advice, were highly responsive and clear with their communications, and were always friendly and professional. We hired Catlin construction to add an addition and to gut and completely renovate our 1960s side split. From the very beginning Jay and Guy worked hard to bring our project into budget and give us the home we were hoping for. The construction went well. We are so pleased with the main floor renovation and exterior update that Jay Catlin and his crew completed for us. We were given a clear schedule at the start of the project that was updated with changes and work was completed on time. Attention to detail, especially in the carpentry work...crown molding, trim, etc was phenomenal. We receive many compliments on it. The crew was respectful, always cleaning up at the end of each day.
