I am going to preface by stating that I have yet to meet anyone who has had a great experience with their contractor enough they they would refer them without any hesitation. However I can say that our experience with Ariel was as seamless as it could have been. We were out of the country for the majority of our remodel, and Ariel had to communicate with us, our designer who moved out of the US right before the remodel started, and our family member who lived nearby and would help to check on things. It's not easy to communicate amongst 3 time zones but Ariel and his crew were able to do this well. A few things that I loved about Ariel and his crew: 1. He gave us a price (not the cheapest and not the most expensive), but he did not stray from it. He tells you exactly what is included in his pricing and what isn't. I compared and interviewed 6 different contractors but realized quickly that they deliberately left things out of their quotes and in the end , the ones who seemed to have lower pricing were hiding some crucial expenditures that would have ended up costing us more in the end. Ariel was direct and honest through and through, and we were able to stick to the budget. 2. His communication is timely. This was important as we were traveling and he insisted on minimum weekly zoom meetings and walk throughs in the progress 3. His crew was fantastic. A few times I had to ask if they could redo some of the finishes to how we imagined it, and they did it without argument or hesitation. 4. I interviewed the vendors with which Ariel works in addition to people who have had their homes remodeled by him, and there were positive reviews across the board. This review comes a year after the completion of the our home project which included: 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom remodels, addition of recessed lighting, redoing stair banisters, removal of popcorn ceiling (sans asbestos) and soffit ceiling, and redoing a wall which had extensive water damage! Due to the pandemic, there were long waits for materials, but once things were available, progress happened quickly. After a big storm a few weeks before we were due to move in, they notified us of the water-damaged wall they found which was pretty serious (that we wouldn't have known otherwise), and gave us a no frills rundown of what our options were. It was great that they were able to catch this before we moved in and had it taken care of quickly. It's been a year since we moved into our home, and we're still enjoying our space a lot. Recently, when we noticed some leaks around a window they had installed, Ariel dispatched his team within the same week to assess and fix it for us. I had a very positive experience working with Shayna and Jordan and the entire team of Century Bay Builders. I worked with Shayna and Jordan before to remodel a kitchen and 2 bathrooms in a rental property that I own, so it was easy choice once i was looking to remodel my own house. (i still had another 5 bids from other contractors as it was pretty big project) what i really like about this company is that they managed to stay true to their word and followed the time frame and budget they set for this project. This time we had pretty big project that included 700 sqft addition (master bedroom), entire house floors, remodeling of 2 bathroom and a kitchen. Shayna recommended local vendors to get our finished material and helped us get discounted prices and the most important thing was that she guided us thru the entire shopping (thanks god!) Jordan, our project manager, was on top of everything! he did an amazing job from start to finish. The most important things to my husband and i were a high level of care to our house and open communication during the construction process. From our first project , the moment we met Jordan it was clear he cared and made the process easy and open. The work was top quality and worth the price! the crew was very respectful and professionals. its was a long process (from the architect drawing, city approval and construction) but we grateful for our new beautiful house! We went with Ariel for our kitchen/great room remodel after getting a few quotes and are very happy with the end result. Ariel wasn’t necessarily the cheapest quote we received of the 4 contractors, but he was so great at communicating, following up, and providing a really comprehensive quote/price that we decided to go with him (and he was competitive within the same ballpark price as the others). We originally engaged with Ariel early 2020 but then the pandemic hit and we put our project on hold for a few months. We decided to really kickoff our project in August 2020 and after a few months delay getting permits, we were ready to begin construction after Thanksgiving (end of November). While our kitchen remodel was supposed to take 6–8 weeks, in the end it did take 14 weeks, but I wouldn’t credit the extended timeline to Ariel’s team as we ran into delays with the city requesting we move the sewer line and then the next available inspection appointment not being until 2 weeks later. Overall we’re very happy with how our kitchen came out. Ariel and his team met with us multiple times before starting construction to talk through our plans and give pointers on suggested changes. When we were in the middle of construction he was clear with what steps we needed to do and when (i.e., order cabinets, countertops, and appliances, and finalize finishes, etc.) and had great suggestions for places to shop for all of this where he had his contractors discount at. His team was courteous, clean, on time, and meticulous. Ariel kept us in the loop throughout the project and ensured we weren’t surprised at any point in it. We felt he was proactive in knowing what the full scope of work was and so we didn’t need to spend additional money beyond what was initially bid (except we did pay more for extras like getting the entire houses old insulation vacuumed and replaced). None of the ‘nickel and dime’ tactics that I hear complaints about in other construction projects where they give you a low quote but everything is an additional cost. The scope of our project included removing the old kitchen and walls, installing a ≈20’ beam to open the kitchen to the living room, adding a kitchen island, weaving in new hardwood flooring to match the living room and refinishing all, new cabinets, appliances, countertops, tile, electrical, plumbing, drywall, insulation, paint, and finish a laundry space. The team made sure everything was done exactly as we wanted and before finishing went through the space with a fine-tooth comb to ensure everything was perfect. Overall really happy with Ariel and his team and would definitely recommend them as well as use them again for future projects.

We’ve worked with Ariel and team on two projects now and highly recommend. Most recently they worked on our master bathroom and did an amazing job bringing our vision to life. Ariel is a great communicator and super easy to work with.

It was great working with Ariel and company as he worked to remodel our entire first floor, including our kitchen, family room, and bathroom, and also our stairway. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and brought valuable insight in order to finalize the design of how we wanted our house to look. This project was also completed within a tight turnaround as we wanted to renovate everything after we purchased the house but before we moved in. Ariel also brought in the proper engineer to open up a wall and put up a weight-bearing beam for more of an open concept. He also provided places where we could find inspirations, and personally brought us to pick out materials for the kitchen, fireplace, and bathroom. If you want your project done quickly, thoughtfully, and correctly, you can’t go wrong with Ariel.

We recently had a Remodel of our kitchen and two bathrooms. Ariel was the project manager he had many great ideas about layouts and where to get the materials. Ariel was always responsive to our questions through emails or text and we had a weekly updates in terms of where we are about the project. Ariel is very fun and it was a pleasure to work with him and his crew. Both the kitchen and bathrooms came out great and we are very happy with the end result. Looking for contractor can be unpleasant time after researching the Internet for a couple of different contractor I came by Ariel who gave me a quote it took me a couple of days to decide Ariel was checking up to follow up with me making sure I understand all the small notes and understand the process it’s make me decide going with him it was the best choice I ever made since I was very scared to go through a remodel he made it seems to be Very easy he was always clean it was always on time and everything came just with my expectations with zero complaints thank you Ariel I will call you again

We hired Century Bay Builders to remodel 3 bathrooms and a laundry room. I was impressed with them right off the bat - the office called to confirm my appointment for an estimate and our awesome project manager Ariel arrived on time and was very professional, thorough, detail-oriented, and had a good sense of humor (very important when doing any remodel!). He was very responsive to emails and texts and always reassuring when issues came up. His crew (Carlos, Fredy, and Marcos) were courteous, meticulous, and did beautiful work. We were especially amazed at how quickly and cleanly the demo went and appreciative that they kept the dust to a minimum since we were living in the house during the remodel. Everyone always checked with me regularly to make sure I was happy with everything. The finished bathrooms are magazine-worthy and we couldn't be happier.
