My husband and our living in our dream home. Wayne and Kiki took our little sketch and turned it into a reality. We had the same vision from day 1. We wanted a house that embodied New Mexico tradition and felt warm and inviting and that is exactly what the Suggs built for us. Their commitment to quality and tradition outshines other builders in the area.

After extensive interviews with local builders, we hired Wayne and Kiki Suggs of Classic New Mexico Homes to build our house at Picacho Mountain. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. Wayne and Kiki are just the best—they are both true artists and true professionals. The house they are building for us will be gorgeous. Not only do they build beautiful houses, they construct extremely well-built homes. Their attention to detail is superb. Beginning at the design stage, Kiki’s floor plan was perfect for our rather difficult lot, aptly taking advantage of view portals and the lay of the land. We are now at framing stage and each new day brings more and more delight as we are able to see how perfectly suited our house is to our lot and to the historic traditions of southwestern adobe style building. From the hand crafted kitchen cabinets made by master carpenter Greg Duff to the integration of recycled and antique items such as a beautiful stained glass door salvaged from a now defunct 19th century bar in Bisbee Arizona to the built in window seat, shelves galore, and adobe banco reading nook dividing the living room from dining area—the house adroitly combines modern comfort with historically authentic detail. Classic New Mexico Homes builds in true custom fashion: every detail is meticulously worked out with the customer and each of their homes is a unique work of art. As importantly, Kiki and Wayne are simply really decent, very hard working, and truly wonderful people. We feel extremely lucky that they are building our house.

Wayne and Kiki Suggs are the best custom builders extant, period. They built our traditional adobe/southwest style home in Picacho Hills (Las Cruces) with a level of care and attention to detail that is amazing and difficult to describe on a website. The quality of construction of our home overwhelms you when you walk in the front door. The wood corbels, vigas and cabinet work match perfectly with the wood of our casement windows to make you think you have entered the home of Don Diego De La Vega in Southern California almost 200 years ago. Kiki and Wayne are both artists, and it shows in the beautiful detail that they have incorporated in our home from the back splash tile in the kitchen to the small highlight tiles that they installed in every entryway throughout our home. They obviously enjoy their work and are quite passionate about every detail of their construction. Aside from their outstanding professionalism, Wayne and Kiki are absolutely just down to earth, good people. My wife and I have been truly blessed to work with them and to get to know them personally. Wayne and Kiki, and their company, Classic New Mexico Homes are the real deal; end of story.

We love Classical New Mexico Homes! We had been searching for a builder for almost a year after we decided to move to the Las Cruces area. The homes we saw looked very similar in style and layout, and so we thought “this is what we’re going to get”. I, of course, was in very much of a hurry to settle on a builder and so start construction. My wife (thank goodness) kept biding me to take my time- and so we did. I have to admit to being tired of looking at construction that appeared all the same, but when we stepped inside an almost-completed house being built by Wayne and Kiki Suggs my mouth dropped. All the wood, beams everywhere. Saltillo tile floors. Talavera tile in the bathrooms. And the outside- all curves instead of angles. The house looked as if it could have been there since the 1850s. WOW! This was it! Okay, so these folks build beautiful homes- but maybe they’re hard to work with, won’t accept any ideas or suggestions. Many folks who had homes built told us that, once the contract was signed, the builder had little or no time for the folks having the home built. We found Wayne and Kiki to be, not just great builders who wanted us around during construction, but great folks on all levels. They designed the home using my basic idea, but improving upon it immensely. They consulted with us daily, and we were on site daily. Both husband and wife have real, true vision of what our home should become- and I don’t think this type of vision can be taught. We’ve lived in our fantastic home for five years now, and I think we have been the envy of our overnight guests. My partner, from California, jokes (I hope) that he’s scheming to knock me off so he can gain possession. We love Classical New Mexico Homes!
