CUSTOM CRAFT - Design Build Remodel

I had the pleasure of working with CustomCraft for a home remodel project, and the experience was nothing short of excellent. Last year, we redid our kitchen and laundry room over a couple of weeks, and everything from the design phase to the actual work was done seamlessly. We selected CustomCraft because we were unsure of what we wanted to do and needed their designers' expertise to help us pick a design we’d love. The team, especially Mike, was incredibly patient during the design phase, ensuring all our ideas and preferences were considered. The communication with Mike and his team was outstanding. We were always kept informed about the progress, and the work was completed in a timely manner. Additionally, the team maintained a very neat and tidy workspace, ensuring minimal interruptions to our family life. We are extremely satisfied with the results and would not hesitate to use CustomCraft again for any future projects.

We could not be any happier with the outcome of not one but three concurrent renovation/addition projects that Custom Craft did for us over the past year. Primary bath, hall bath, addition of portico. The projects went smoothly, on time, on budget and better than we ever anticipated. To assist us as clients, we received a daily photo diary of all work completed and weekly schedule of upcoming work to be performed. Custom Craft transformed our awful kitchen into the kitchen of our dreams! For us it was a big job and we wanted it to be perfect. We talked with several different design/build services and immediately felt comfortable at Custom Craft. They use BuilderTrend software so all our correspondence, invoices, pictures taken each day of the work, selections for the plan that we needed to sign off on, etc. were all in one place. It really helped make the process easy. Our designer, Grace, was amazing to work with. She listened to everything we wanted and incorporated it all into a design that is not only beautiful but is infinitely more functional than our old kitchen. And once the initial design was completed, she still refined the little touches further as the project moved forward. Moving this light switch here, adding a pop-up outlet to the counter here--just to make sure everything was absolutely as perfect as it could be. Our lead carpenter, Kory, was just THE BEST! Every issue that came up, big or small, during the construction process was tackled and made perfect. We're fussy. Kory is fussier (totally what you want in a lead carpenter!). Everyone involved on the project be it the Custom Craft staff or sub-contractors were fantastic and responsive to any questions we had. Special shout-out to Stephen: his tile work should be in the Louvre. We love our new kitchen and will definitely call Custom Craft the next time a home remodel project comes up (I'm currently eyeing the main bath...). I recommend them highly to anyone looking for quality design and craftsmanship.

Custom Craft was the best company we have ever worked with for home design improvements and construction. They always showed up directly at the time they would, left the home in spotless condition everyday, took great attention to detail, and were extremely communicative and professional. And-- most importantly-- the work they do is GORGEOUS! We highly recommend using Custom Craft for any home improvement / updating project. They were the best.

We could not be more pleased with our experience with Custom Craft from start to finish. Mike came to our home, toured the space, listened to what we wanted to do, what our spending range was, and told us that he was confident that Custom Craft could do what we wanted inside of our budget. We began the design phase in the spring of 2022 and our designer Brittany was wonderful! We laid out what we wanted and she created three different designs that incorporated our must-haves along with some of our wishes and we were able to pick and choose what we liked between all three. She listened to what we wanted and did an outstanding job presenting us with options that fulfilled our vision. When we proposed changes that were either crazy or too expensive, she always let us know that in the nicest possible way. She was also sensitive to our budget constraints and always highlighted the more expensive aspects of each design option so that we could make the most informed decisions. Custom Craft budgeted the core of the project that would give us the kitchen, family room, and mudroom/laundry room that we wanted and then used their “change order” process for individual aspects of the project design that were nice, but not necessary, which allowed us decide where we wanted to spend the remainder of our budget. Throughout the process, Mike kept in consistent touch with us to see how we were feeling regarding the design, questions we might have, and how we were feeling about the budget. Once our design was finalized in July 2022, Custom Craft locked the pricing for our project even though construction was not slated to begin until January 2023. Custom Craft utilized the online site BuilderTrend, which was an easy way for us to keep track of the different aspects of the project, communicate with everyone involved, track daily progress once construction began, and manage our budget. Custom Craft made construction as painless as possible. Friends of ours continuously remarked how impressed they were at the daily progress that was made and how great everything looked. Custom Craft completed our project in eight weeks and the major reason for that is the lead carpenter Matt and his crew. Matt was on-site nearly every day and was always available by text or phone. When Matt was not on site, Chris was available for any questions and to relay any information or updates. They sealed off the construction area and, once the project was completed, the rest of the house required minimal cleaning to bring it back to tip-top shape. The crew did a great job each day to make sure that the work zone was clean and tidy so that we could tour and see what they had done. Overall, we would give Custom Craft more than five stars if we could. Everyone involved in the project from start to finish was easy to work with, responsive, and truly cared about the finished product. They completed the project on time and on budget and we could not be happier!

We used Custom Craft for a renovation of our home’s first floor- kitchen, mud room, living area, powder room, and entryway. This was the first time we had ever been through a home renovation and all our friends and family tried to prepare us beforehand by sharing all their horror stories. Weren’t we (and they) surprised to discover that our experience could not have been more different! The entire process from start to finish was smooth. The whole team was polite, professional, transparent, and very communicative. We knew what to expect, when it would happen, and exactly how much it would cost. The app they used to co-manage the project with us made reviewing progress and making changes simple. The onsite team (shoutout to Mike Jones and his crew!) were so respectful of our home. They thoroughly cleaned at the end of each workday and were kind enough to work around us when we needed it (we were both still working at home at this point). The best part about the process? They told us it would take 6 weeks and it took…6 weeks! We were shocked! The finished project completely exceeded our expectations. The design team helped us figure out what we wanted, even when we didn’t know what we wanted. Everyone who has seen our new first floor has been blown away and we absolutely love our new space. We had Custom Craft do a kitchen remodel, flooring throughout the first floor and window replacement. Excellent workmanship. Trustworthy. Many times we were not at home when work was being done and we felt extremely comfortable with leaving crew to do the work. Excellent communication during the remodel. Designer Julie was wonderful to work with. Helped me in choosing the right style and color palette. I had main staircase redone and team did an incredible job in matching stair treads to floor color. All contractors used by Custom Craft are excellent. I can say that during the six week process, we developed a friendly relationship with the crew making for a great experience. We used Custom Craft for our kitchen and laundry room remodel last year and they are about to start construction on our hall bathroom. Phenomenal group from design team to builders! We hired Custom Craft to do a major renovation of our kitchen. They were professional, worked fast, answered all our questions and helped to create our dream kitchen. We highly recommend working with them! We highly recommend the Custom Craft team and their work. We started a remodel project for our two upstairs bathrooms right after Covid lockdowns started in 2020. Based on that experience we are now starting our kitchen remodel, confident we will have an equally good experience and result. In 2020, we initially met with John and Mike over video platforms and then continued to work with designer Brittany over video platforms. Their online platform makes it easy to keep track of project details and share ideas. They listened really well to what we wanted and offered great advice on how to get the best result. They recommended suppliers who also listened well to what we wanted, provided options, and communicated clearly back to Custom Craft so there were no surprises. When it came time to do the work, they followed all Covid protocols and worked with us to ensure they could easily move materials. They provided photos of the work throughout the project and always left everything clean and set it up so we could sleep in our bedroom at night even though they closed off the upstairs when working. The schedule was online and they always informed us personally when some element changed. All their craftsman were professional and engaging and happy to answer any questions. They came back for the minor fixes required when working in an older home (1960's). We are very much looking to completing the kitchen with them this year!

It was a large project - walls taken down, beams added, an external entrance was created, window widened, etc. They paid attention to every detail, from design, material selection, through construction. Mike and the crew were great. We wanted a complete gut of our kitchen/dining room and an addition for a downstairs office. Not only did they incorporate many "needs" into the design, they also helped us understand and think about aspects that we never considered. By far, not the least expensive, but well worth the cost. The estimate they gave us at the beginning of the project was correct...to the penny. Absolutely NO cost overruns. Two years on, we still get compliments on the kitchen and office. If it's any indication, we are looking to use CCC for additional work that we are going to do on our house.

Custom Craft remodeled our kitchen and adjacent laundry room. What a great bunch of people, and what a nice job they did. We are very happy overall w/their friendliness, courtesy, quality of work, and quite fair estimate vs. actual costs. The on-site crew led by Mike J. and Cory are top-notch....absolutely great guys to work with. If I had to pick any kind of negative, it's that it would be good to have 1 point of contact when it comes to communication; there were a few times when multiple folks would address an issue separately, leading to a circular communication loop. OTOH, it's way better to have a contractor over-communicate than never get back to you, so this was not a huge deal. We are happy to post before and after pics here, but Custom Craft came out to do a photo shoot of the remodel on 12/2/16. We're sure that their pics, which will be posted on Houzz eventually, will be much better than ours and we look forward to seeing them.

This company did an excellent job in a timely fashion. Kept to the schedule that they said. This was very important to us. Also, my house was kept very clean and dust free because of all of the systems they have in place. Workmanship is perfect.Call them you will not be disappointed !!

Custom Craft was fabulous, very detailed and customer oriented. They did everything possible to make our bathroom remodeling projects be completed in a professional manner and they delivered a fantastic product. We met with them several times to go over the project, discuss modifications and materials. These meetings were at their office and our house. They provided a detailed binder outlining their remodeling plan and we were incredibly happy with the end result. I can't imagine anyone else being trusted to work on our home ! We have had multiple projects - both large and small - with Mike and George over the years and over several houses. Basement complete renovation. Kitchen renovation, Exterior work like roofing, patio construction, window replacement/repair. Flooring projects... On each project not only were they exceptionally professional - work done beautifully, on time each day, clean worksite each evening- but they created great design work. In each project, we would have had much less satisfying results if we had not been able to bounce ideas around with them and then choose to incorporate some of their design elements. We could easily have spent large sums of money with other contractors and been left unsatisfied, even with good work. You will never find a better team to help you care for and improve your home!

This is the second project I used this company, First was our kitchen and now our master bath. I like that this is a family business. We had a tile shower installed and tile surround around our whirlpool tub, vanities and tile flooring. They put in all new fixtures. We were very impressed with the plumber and the tile work. Once they started the job, they stayed until completion. I had one issue on our punch list and was taken care of immediately. I would highly recommend the company.

Mike Foering and his team of professionals were simply amazing! Custom Craft Contractors (i.e. CCC) takes the time to sit down and really work with you on the design of your project. We did a complete overhaul and redesign of our kitchen floor plan, plus several other improvements were made. All along the process, CCC was fabulous is helping us with the design and all the major upgrades done in our space. I would absolutely recommend working with CCC (and I know in a few years we will need to redesign our Master Bathroom! :-)

Custom Craft Contractors renovated our kitchen and family room and we couldn't be happier! Our kitchen is now beautiful and functional. In our living room, they converted our fireplace to gas and installed a stone surround with a new mantle. Throughout the entire first floor, they installed new hardwood floors, which gives the entire floor a new and cohesive look. We receive so many compliments from our neighbors and friends! From the beginning of the project to the end, everyone at Custom Craft was so helpful and easy to work with. Both Mike and Julie designed a wonderful space and helped us pick the perfect finishes. Matt and the rest of the construction team were a pleasure and continually communicated with us throughout the project. Also, I was so impressed with how clean they left our home each day - it really made it so much easier to live through a renovation! I first used custom craft contractors to remodel my kitchen in 2001. They were very helpful with ideas to maximize space and help me choose quality materials. The second time I used them was in 2013 to remodel my family room. Once again they were very helpful through the process. This time I utilized their decorator to help with colors and furniture selection which was a very positive experience. I have recommended them to others and I will be calling them for my next project.

We had the entire first floor of our home transformed. The kitchen underwent a total renovation, a mudroom was created and a closet and door were built onto a room to create a playroom for our kids. We were very happy with the entire process from design through construction. Our home functions so much better for us and looks beautiful. The meetings held prior to construction were very detailed, which made us feel comfortable with Custom Craft and confident in the process. The construction team was on time everyday and was very respectful and professional. They were also extremely clean! We met with several contracting companies and are so glad we decided to work with Custom Craft!

Custom Craft handled our complete kitchen and master bath remodel, from design to construction to the final walk-through. It was a pleasure working with them and we would not hesitate to work with them on another remodel. It was not the stressful experience we thought it was going to be. Their expertise and approach to the design process was excellent. Communication was great and we always knew what the next step during each phase was going to be. Daily clean-up during the construction phase was above and beyond what we expected. They are true professionals and experts in their field.

Designed and remodeled our master bathroom. This was a large room with a shower and bathtub and a double vanity but was 25 years old and badly in need of being updated. Custom Craft created a design that included our personal preferences and guided us through the selection of materials. Their construction crew are the best! We were extremely comfortable with them being in our home, even when we weren't. Besides being courteous and professional, their building expertise was outstanding. They were very creative in addressing unusual situations. This is the second time that we have hired them. Two years earlier they remodeled our kitchen. We were so please with Custom Craft that we didn't even consider anyone else for the bathroom project. I wish the pictures that I have did justice to their work.

After seeing our neighbors kitchen remodel we chose Custom Craft Contractors to remodel our two bathrooms. We found CCC to be not only professional but easy to work with. Our craftsmen were very courteous and thorough. We are very pleased with our renovations.

Custom Craft exceeded all of our expectations for the design of our basement. Wonderful attention to detail. Extremely clean and conscientious. Workers became one of the family. We did an addition to the front of our house and redid the kitchen at the same time. I hired Custom Craft to completely redo my kitchen. I am extremely pleased with the work done. My kitchen is gorgeous! I had Custom Craft Contractors update the 1st floor of my townhouse - kitchen, dining area, living area and powder room. They did a fabulous job incorporating my ideas (which were unusual) into real-world concrete items. I could tell the men working on the team were excited about my project and the end result shows that enthusiasm. They did their best to minimize dust and made an effort to keep parts of my kitchen functional as long as possible. There was scope creep on the project (my fault and they came up with some amazing ideas) so the original deadline was not met but this was explained to me and I made the decision to extend the deadline to get an even better kitchen. If timing had been an issue, I am certain they would have been OK with sticking to the plan (and original deadline). I am extremely happy with my dream 1st floor and will hire them again in the future when I have saved enough money to finish my basement.

We had a kitchen, laundry room and powder room remodel completed in the fall of 2014. Custom Craft has an excellent team for the planning phase through construction. We moved appliances and opened up a pantry which greatly improved storage and work flow. The planning stage really gave us ideas and options that we had not thought about previously. We worked with their designer to ensure our design choices worked and to create a look we would be happy with in years to come. The construction crew was skilled and professional.
