I left a one star review only because it is not possible to leave a ZERO star review. Would NOT recommend dealing with this firm. Design while presented was so far from specific criteria provided to designer/partner Will Waibel, it was not recognizable. When our concerns were expressed it became a campaign of collect fees and totally disregard any shred of customer concern or satisfaction. Our settlement offer was summarily rejected and we were threaten with legal action. Never were our project goals addressed, leading to our abandoning the project. As result of our age this project will not be completed.

We have done a number of construction projects during our lifetime but have never had the wow factor like this time. From the design process to the end product we could not be more pleased. Quality work for a fair price and a clean jobsite everyday to match. Waibel's communicated with us very well thru the entire project. They also stayed on the job and finished when they said they would. If you are looking for quality work done right and on time then these are the right people to hire.

They are customer oriented from the very start of the project.They present ideas and designs in a no nonsense manner and are very detail oriented.They build with attention to high quality craftsmanship and take the time necessary to do it right the first time.

We engaged DAN WAIBEL DESIGNER BUILDER to design and update our first floor family room and develop a plan to rebuild the connected kitchen. The Family Room work included the removal of a complete wall of build ins and fire place and the design and installation of new custom book cases including a new stone mantle. They also removed the existing cove molding around the entire room and replaced it with a larger cove including enhanced trim. The kitchen work started with the removal of the existing kitchen down to the studs including ceiling. They then worked with their cabinet maker to design new cabinets including a center island. The new marble and granite counter tops were a combination of honed black granite with matching subway tile as a black splash while the island was covered with a contrasting marble. We found the Waibel group easy to work with, creative in their designs and meticulous with their carpentry work. During this project we were often out of town yet the work was completed on time and completely to our satisfaction. Their quality of their work and cleanliness during this process was fantastic! We will definitely use them for all of our future work.

I have enjoyed enlisting the help of Will Waibel for various design projects. From start to finish on each project, Will knows what it takes to meet the all-around needs of his customers. It is his professionalism, diligence, and respect that will motivate me to hire Will Waibel and the entire team at Dan Waibel for any future projects!

We have worked with the Designer, Wil Waibel on three separate remodel projects at our home. The first was about five years ago and was a complete new kitchen, powder room and combination office and work room. The second was about two years ago and was a complete re-do of our master suite bathroom and closet areas. Most recently was an update to our outdoor living area with a new deck & outdoor kitchen, a special and unique gazebo, entertaining spaces and a new fire pit. Each of these three projects turned out better than promised, on budget and only slightly behind schedule (usually due to some special requests we made during the build phase). We highly recommend Will and the entire Dan Waibel Team.

After purchasing a new home in July 2012, my husband and I hired Dan Waibel Builders to help us create a space more compatible to our family and to add some detail to the interior and exterior. We knew Will and his father, Dan, quite well but had yet to work with them. They have a reputation for the highest quality craftsmanship - I couldn't agree more. With one look at their work, their talent is undeniable. Without hesitation, I can state that this father and son are among the most talented teams in the country. When we began working with Will, our expectations were high. So high in fact, I would have forgiven him for not meeting them. Not only did he meet them, he exceeded them. We'd simply describe to Will how we wanted a space to function and he'd create the ideal plan. More than once, I would drag him around, pointing out areas of our house and say, "I don't know why, but this isnt working for me." He knew what I wanted before I did. With Will, you don't have to sacrifice aesthetics for practicality. His ideas translate into real living spaces that are simply stunning. It is impossible for me to share my experience with Will and Dan Waibel Builders without acknowledging their honorable character. They're not only unbelievably talented, they are men of integrity - good, honest men. Additionally, Jake (charged with our project), every carpenter, and sub-contractor associated with Dan Waibel Builders was knowledgable, respectful, kind, and genuine. No one wants to live in construction, but we were all sad when it was time for Jake to go. He was a joy to have in our home. Years ago, a home was being built next door. Over the months, I got to know the foreman on the job. Knowing we would build our own home someday, I once asked him for his personal opinion on some local custom home builders. He shared his thoughts on a few and, when he was finished, I summed it up with, "So you think Will and Dan are worthy of their impeccable reputation, huh?" And he said, "There are some great builders in this town, but Dan Waibel Builders is the king of kings." Choose Will. You won't be disappointed.

Will Waibel is an integral part of a highly respected, premium design and construction company. There is no need to call around to different contractors. With the Waibel's, a skilled and loyal team has been assembled, executing everything from start to finish including: creative design, top-notch project management, skilled carpentry, experienced concrete and tile work to amazing faux painting. Will Waibel arguably creates some of the most imaginative design in Central Illinois. Not to mention, he is immediately likable and easy to work with. Thus far, the Waibel's have designed and built two different custom, hand made furniture pieces for my home including a dining room buffet with thick limestone tops, ironwork and interior lighting, and a hand carved game center armoire with metallic faux painting and detailed, hand finished hardware. They also completed a high-end garage remodel for us with cherry stained garage doors, marble-look concrete floors and hand-built custom cabinetry, including a fun storage bench. When we've had smaller repair projects to address around the house, they've also gladly assisted us. We wish they could have built our home to begin with, but look forward to additional projects with the Waibel team!

Will and his colleagues at Dan Waibel Designer Builder provided very creative remodel solutions giving us a wonderfully comfortable upgrade to our home. Perhaps, the greatest challenge was accommodating the two of us living in the home while they completely renovated the entire main floor. The Waibel team provided exemplary customer service and craftsmanship throughout the project. For those who appreciate the highest quality results and the highest quality experience, we recommend Will and his team.

Will is everything a professional architect/designer should be. He was born with a gift for doing what he does. He is a consummate professional.
