Dustin Cogswell and his subcontractors did an excellent job with a recent outdoor patio construction project. Part artist, part engineer and now a close friend to our family he helped us find a truly unique design for our patio project (I think pictures of that project are on his website now). Later, on a moment’s notice Dustin and his crews were back to help us with the very significant damage our home suffered in hurricane Helene. Shifting workers and materials between his ongoing construction projects he was able to take care of the needs of several families all at the same time. Dustin is one of those unique individuals who can lend an artist eye to an idea and bring to the owner and understanding of the esthetic options for a building plan, then build out that plan in fine detail with CAD modeling. But where Dustin and Design Build excel is in Dustin’s ability to deal with those day-to-day ups and downs that always occur in construction. He’s able to organize the entire building effort from managing hands-on the several subcontractors that might be working at your home on any given day to stepping back with the owner on a regular basis to listen to concerns and to incorporate change orders when needed. I used DC Design Build for design work on a home renovation. Dustin had some great ideas for maximizing the use of each space. The home didn't have a true master suite before he redesigned it, and I loved the way it turned out! He's also great with material selection and modernizing exteriors that feel dated.

It was the easiest, cleanest, and best demo/construction remodel I have ever done, and I have renovated 5 houses before this. Dustin and his team made it an absolute pleasure, from accommodating our needs to live in bedroom while bathroom renovation happening, to accommodating our schedule. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The work quality is excellent and every one of the different people working on the job were totally professional.
