We have worked with Michelle twice – first on a total remodel of our dated master bathroom. We loved working with her so much, that she was the only person we approached a year later when we decided to completely remodel our kitchen. I would not hesitate for an instant to hire her. Why? First, Michelle has an incredible design eye, and made design suggestions in a way that I never could have done myself. With both projects, I struggled to figure out what exactly I wanted… I knew what I did NOT want, and I knew I didn’t want it to be just like everyone else. Michelle was able to guide me thru the process in a way that felt easy, and ultimately the end result was more amazing than I ever could have imagined. She took care with every detail she suggested: drawer pulls, faucets, light fixtures, the perfect island stone slab, glass for the cabinets. And she really took the time to understand how we would use the spaces, to make sure they worked for our whole family (husband, kids and dog included!). I often find myself just sitting in my remodeled spaces, feeling complete happiness and amazement at how much I love them. Second, Michelle was easy to communicate with, and kept me updated every step of the way. I never felt like she was unavailable if I had a question. And she carefully prepared, communicated, and executed the timeline, so we knew exactly what to expect. Third, I trust her, completely. Seriously. I trust her in my house, and I trust her choices. I trust her when she tells me she can or cannot do something, because she knows what she's talking about. She isn't going to play games with you or lie to you. That's hard to come by. Frankly, I was sad when the project ended, because Michelle is a great designer, builder, and businesswoman - but most importantly - a great person to be around. I would absolutely recommend her to friends and family and would hire her myself if I do any projects in the future.

We have worked with Michelle and DeCinces Design Build Co. for a major home remodel project that has spanned most of our house. We are nearing the end of the project and its bittersweet because I have absolutely loved working with Michelle. What sets her apart from other contractors/design build companies: 1) She is a talented designer and an even better general contractor. Her eye for detail is unmatched. Her subcontractors appreciate and respect her so she gets the best of the best working for her. 2) She understands that uprooting families out of their homes / kitchens during a remodel is a very big deal!! Her timing /planning is so carefully planned to minimize disruption. 3) She really listens and cares about giving us the space that we want. Michelle's creativity and endless ideas just effortlessly exude from her :) No two kitchens are the same and she takes pride in developing something that is unique and matches our style. 4) She is organized and budget conscious. Surprises were minimal and when they happened she was immediately upfront and we would discuss all of our options on how to best move forward. Our total project cost came in within 5% of the estimate. I will absolutely use Michelle again if and when we decide to do another home project.

We hired Michelle to remodel our guest bathroom and master bathroom. From the estimate to the finish, Michelle was very honest and responsive. She kept within our budget and even with the covid-related supply delays, she managed to complete our project within her projected time frame. She has a wonderful eye for detail and communicated with us next steps all the way to the end. Her crew is top notch and some of the nicest people. Michelle heard me say that I wanted our master bath be a sanctuary and that she did. We are so happy with our bathrooms and get compliments all the time. I will be calling Michelle the next time we remodel.

Michelle helped us with a kitchen remodel. She is so enthusiastic and fun to work with! She was an enormous help and very patient with the decision making process and able to accommodate the ideas most important to me to make them work. Her staff and contacts are courteous and professional. She runs a tight ship providing a timely completion. We are now moving right along with the remodel of 2 guest bathrooms in spite of "these troubling times." She has great ideas that save the day and perseveres to make sure there is an element of fun in the project. Michelle truly loves what she does!

My wife and I are not exactly wizards when it comes to design. Enter Michelle, who helped us design and build our new kitchen and family room. She and her workforce are consummate professionals. All work was done timely and very well. The bulk of the work was done in 5 weeks. We are thrilled and love it every time we walk into those rooms. This was approx. a year and a half ago. We are now doing two bathroom renovations and have once again brought on Michelle and her team. We have worked out the design and are in the process of ordering materials. Based on our prior experience, we are entering into this project with comfort and confidence. We cannot recommend Michelle too highly. Her field general, Eric, is about the hardest working guy I have ever met and I have personally worked on a host of construction projects in my younger days. Go with the best. Bill S.

I hired DeCinces Design after being referred by a friend who had just completed a kitchen remodel and loved it. I too, was starting a kitchen remodel and needed guidance and assistance to complete this huge project. MIchelle was able to capture the exact design I was looking for and gave me everything I wanted and more in my new kitchen. Michelle was knowledgeable, responsive (working on weekends) and helped me stay on budget. MIchelle's contractor was very professional and completed the project much quicker than I thought possible. I look forward to working with her again when I remodel my master bathroom!

We have a pretty big project going on in our backyard. We are adding a pool, an outdoor room, new bbq island, fire pit, all new plants and turf. We hired Michelle to help us pick out all the materials we need for the job. Our first two meetings were face to face and then the social distancing and quarantine started in our area. We were already mid project and needed to keep going, so Michelle quickly adapted her business to an online service. She has still been very present and available to meet with us and discuss the material selections for our project online. I knew the first time we met that she got my style and vision for our backyard. I honestly could not have done our project without her. She has been so instrumental in making or style come to life. I highly recommend Michelle and can’t wait to have her do our full kitchen remodel in the fall.

We can't thank Michelle enough for the most amazing and seamless job she and her crew of Trades did on our remodeled kitchen and family room area in a very short 6 weeks! We knew from the beginning that Michelle was the right choice - she's got an impeccable eye for design, is attentive, extremely professional and an incredibly knowledgeable Designer *and* Licensed Contractor. At the onset, Michelle was able to grasp our sense of style quickly and guide us through what can seem like an overwhelming process, patiently and professionally. The time and attention at the early stages of the project made the execution swift and seamless. There were no 'surprises', no delays, no budget creep and regular status updates throughout the entire project. Michelle's knowledge and detail oriented nature ensured the project was delivered on time and well above expectations! Michelle has a fantastic rapport with all her contacts whether it be flooring, fixtures, appliances, cabinets, plumbing, electrical etc. She even coordinated and oversaw the installation of the Panoramic Doors that was a completely separate project. They *loved* her! We couldn't be happier and will definitely use Michelle again for future projects!

Michelle is a great designer and pays great attention to detail. I love the kitchen she helped me to design. She picked up right away on the colors and style I was looking for and then helped me find the prefect combination. I waited a long time for my dream kitchen and Michelle gave it to me in 4 weeks, with very little disruption to our home. Her contractors were on time, very professional and kept the construction area clean so there was no tracking of dust and dirt. I have a small dog and they made friends with her, she misses them all now that the job is done. I can not say enough how happy I am with the work and my new kitchen

I highly recommend Michelle DeCinnes as a designer and contractor. An upscale tile store had given us Michelle's contact information. I researched her on Houzz then met with her and hired her to design our kitchen. We needed someone to creatively maximize every square foot of our kitchen. Michelle carefully listened to us - and then designed a kitchen that fulfilled our wishlist. She had creative solutions to fix problem areas in our kitchen layout. We were so impressed we hired her to be the contractor. Michelle carefully laid out a three-week contracting schedule which unfolded day by day just as she had planned. Michelle has an amazing team of craftsmen who specialize in granite, tile, cabinetry, and plumbing. Each craftsperson arrived on time and did a beautiful job. On top of that Michelle has a wonderful network of a quality cabinet, faucet and appliance resources. Our kitchen is beautiful and wonderful to cook in.

We have worked with Michelle on several projects in Encinitas and Carlsbad and she has always exceeded our expectations. She is very detailed oriented and always has her customer's best interest at mind. She is the best of both worlds, as she is a licensed general contractor and designer by trade, without the hiked prices. We noticed a negative review below which we had completed the flooring part for this project, and feel this is far from the truth. Goes to show you can not please everyone. Love, love, love this woman! The design Michelle created for our kitchen, dining and living area totally transformed the space - giving us more usable space and a nice flow with good vibes. Which in turn makes it a delight to wake up to every morning! Five stars isn't enough. . . .Thank you Michelle!
