Edgell finished a $2mm home for us recently. No communication, in fact they laid off project manager without telling us. They quietly cut corners whenever possible. No closing- just a bill. Totally unpleasant. Nice house, but we recommend choosing a different builder. This overall rating is WAY overrated.

There is a difference in contractors, if you want attention to detail, excellent communication and a project done on time and on budget then Edgell Building is the builder for you. We built a house in 2019 and Edgell Building went above and beyond to ensure a quality home that exceeded our expectations and made our dreams come true. Now that we have moved into our home we have come to appreciate the quality of sub-contractors that Edgell Building uses. When we had questions or needed adjustments on things the sub-contractors and Edgell Building were both extremely responsive and called us back. In our case, after we moved in, we changed our mind on a few electrical items and hired the sub-contractors to makes some minor light switch changes and some plumbing changes for our irrigation system. It gives me peace of mind that both our general contractor and the sub-contractors back their work without hassle and are available if needed. The quality this builder provides started from the beginning, spending time in meetings helping us make critical decisions about our house design and amenities that were within our budget, Edgell Building was there with us every step of the way. Once construction started things ran smoothly and on time. My wife and I were updated by the Edgell team during all phases of the project and our questions were always answered in a timely manner. Edgell Building, on their own, went above and beyond during the construction process to ensure quality that exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Great project management, communication, attention to detail, and keeping the project on budget are very important to building a new home. The Edgell team knocked it out of the park and we can’t say enough good things about this company and the employees. From the laborers to the Superintendent to the all the other staff, they went above and beyond to ensure a satisfied customer during construction and after you move in. We feel so fortunate to have been able to use Edgell builders. Ever step in the process was enjoyable, not many can sat that about a home build. No step was overlooked or not discussed with my huband and I. We love our home, we love it more daily, and we have great communication with the builder still!! I never hesitate to recommend Edgell builders and actively look for opportunities to sing their praises! I Would not change a thing!!!

My wife and I have been living in the Missoula area for the past forty years. During that time we have had two houses constructed and had major remodeling work done on two others. Before the beginning of the first project we asked for recommendations from people that we knew who were in the building trades. Following that, we met with and interviewed many of the builders in the Missoula area. While I believe that there are several very talented and sound companies building and remodeling homes there is one outfit that is truly exceptional. That company is Edgell Homes. The first time that we met with David Edgell, we showed him the preliminary remodeling plans that designers had draw up for a house that we were living in and finding inadequate for our needs. We were quite frustrated with the concept drawings that we were seeing and starting to consider the sale of the house and the purchase or construction of another dwelling. After looking at our house and the space remaining on the lot, David drew a preliminary sketch for modifications that not only resolved our space issues, but also made the house look much better, being balanced on the lot. We were so pleased that ten years later, we had him redesign our kitchen/dining room area and build a large deck on the back side of our house. The work that David Edgell and his crew did transformed a somewhat awkward track home into a custom design that we have enjoyed for thirty-three years. When it came time to replace our old "fishing cabin" on Flathead Lake we again turned to Edgell Construction. The house that they built was nothing short of spectacular. From the design to the final construction, every aspect of the process was a testament to exceptional craftsmanship! This last spring we decided that we would like to build a new home in Missoula. After purchasing a lot with a beautiful view, we again contacted Edgell Construction. Again, they designed a beautiful and functional structure that is scheduled to be complete in a few months. While our experience with Edgell Construction spans four different projects, several qualities have remained consistent throughout all four builds. David Edgell understands construction and demands perfection from every member of his crew. Only quality materials and excellent sub-contractors are used in every case. We believe that it is hard to argue with attention to detail, exceptional craftsmanship and pride in workmanship! Take a look at some of the homes Edgell Construction has built. I have worked with Edgell Building on 2 homes in the past 8 years. In both cases, the experience was excellent. One was a higher end home, the other was a triplex. In both cases, construction was timely and the project manager on sight was professional and always will to listen. There were very few cost overruns as I believe the construction estimates at the beginning of the project were well thought out and accurate. Mr. Edgell has an excellent reputation in this town - an 'Edgell Built Home' is always considered to be of high quality. I would highly recommend Edgell Building for any type of construction project.

We have had the pleasure of knowing David Edgell for twenty years. We chose David Edgell to build our first home in Montana, when we built our next home our son purchased the first one from us. The house was built exactly the way we asked for, it has lasted and remains in like new condition. When we had our walk through, there was one small item that David pointed out, I felt it was too small to bother with but David said he wasn’t satisfied and had it done over. That type of customer care is the definition of integrity.

We just finished a new home with Edgell's and it has been the most wonderful experience we could have ever asked for! We lived 1,400 miles away so communication was important and they were great. The quality of construction far exceeded our expectations and their attention to detail is astonishing. They kept us within our budget and timeline and were very transparent on costs of everything, no surprises! We absolutely loved the entire process from start to finish, they made it so enjoyable and we would build with them again for sure!

We bought our home in 2015. It was suppose to be built to the 2012 Building Codes. Our homes crawl space was not conditioned to code. They might as well just put the materials in the crawl space uninstalled. At the time of purchase Edgell was asked why there are no crawl space vents in this home. The owner and one of his employees immediately told me about conditioned crawl spaces. The problem is the City inspectors did not inspect the crawl spaces nor did any Edgell employee. They had no clue how their homes where built. During the flood of 2018 our crawl space flooded along with many other homes in our subdivision. David Edgell decided all on his own who would be responsible and who would pay what. We also learned that our homes roofs where not built according to code or manufacturers specs. Edgell did a half ass repair on one issue and refused to address the ice and water shied issue. This is a man who says everything right as long as it does not cost him money. Buyer Beware!

We did a home remodel with Edgell and it has been a truly great experience from the planning and estimating process through the work and to the lovely welcome back home from the staff. Our home exceeds our expectations. The planning and budgeting process was very clear. The subs that Edgell worked with were highest quality as well as friendly and respectful. Our project managers were extremely professional and available for questions and concerns throughout the project. We would recommend the whole team at Edgell without reservation or hesitation.

Edgell has been excellent to work with; they are very professional and respectful. They do a high quality job. We would definitely use edgell again! We highly recommend them to anyone looking to build!!!

Edgell Building constructed a fabulous home. I have had three custom homes built for our family over the years and none compared to our experience with Edgell Building. The company incorporated all the management, subcontractors and suppliers in the project. We had ongoing communication with this team and always made updates and suggestions throughout the duration of planning and construction. Our project exceeded our best expectations. I have to suggest the highest of recommendation!!

Mark Edgell was awesome to work with! He is easy to get a hold of and takes care of any issues immediately. Edgell Building is quick and efficient with the construction of their homes. Our house was completed in just about 4 months. Their communication throughout the whole process has been great. My only criticism is that the framers he used were obviously rushed as some of the spaces were not square. And they were off pretty significantly. Most people would never notice this but we installed all of our flooring ourselves and it made the job a bit more difficult.
