My wife and I spent 12 months and interviewed 5 design and building firms before we found and chose Eric S. Perry Design & Build — and we’re very glad we waited to find him. We had a very clear vision of the style, function, and quality we wanted in our remodeled entryway, kitchen, living room, dining room, and hallway. Eric made some suggestions that improved our initial plan, and he and his team (Jack and Stevie) executed it flawlessly. We were also impressed with the quality and professionalism of his electrical, plumbing, floor, tile, and painting subcontractors. We strongly recommend ESP for high quality, professional home design and building.

It was an easy choice to hire Eric Perry as our builder to remodel our downstairs, creating a bedroom, bath, closet, and laundry space His creative design was a perfect use of limited space and we love the remodel. Eric remodeled a neighbor's house and we were impressed with his attention to the project, he was there everyday and did a remarkable job. We had the same experience. His staff, Jack and Steve, were wonderful, They were responsive to each question, polite, caring,, and cleaned up each day. They did beautiful work. Eric and his team made everything easy with their friendly nature and cooperative spirit. Eric uses the best subs for painting, tile work, electric, plumbing, hardwood, and HVAC. Eric and his team renovated our kitchen recently. We had our old kitchen cabinets moved to the garage, and then built the desired kitchen and a mod room. They have done an awesome job in a timely manner! We like the way they always keep customers in their mind as the first priority. When we first decided to renovate, we didn’t know much about how to proceed and where to start. He told us to visit his previous projects and talk to his former customers. During the design process, Violet very patiently worked with us on the overall design and selection of finishes to satisfy our needs. Eric was great in giving us options, budget estimates, and work scheduling. While working on the project, Eric’s team and his subcontractors did high quality job. They tried to minimize the interference with our daily life and cleaned up each day after work. They kept working on it without interruption of the work until the end of the project. They stayed with the budget as planned. Eric is an exceedingly skilled professional, very responsive, and has extraordinary communication skills. Jack and Steve did excellent work. They are pleasant guys to work with. By the end of the project, we became very good friends. Overall, we were very satisfied with the job done by Eric and his crew. We highly recommend him.

Eric has become like family to us. He rebuilt our entire home after a massive flood from an upstairs bath destroyed much of our 3,200 sq ft home. We entrusted him with opening up supporting walls and installing a 19ft steel beam, creating new framing for a new walk-in pantry, a complete kitchen makeover, updating all hardwood and tile flooring, trim work, closet remodels… you name it we did it with Eric. He is a quick communicator, trustworthy, light-hearted, empathetic to the stresses for homeowners through build and design processes, and we feel very lucky to have found him so we could restore and revive our home!

We originally interviewed Eric Perry when we thought we might build a new house from the ground up and were very impressed with his attention to detail and quality. When our plans changed and we found an existing home and property we liked, we immediately called him to do an addition of a large music/tv room with fireplace, a large screened in porch, and a large wrap-around deck. While we were out of town for several weeks, Eric and his fantastic crew of Colton and Zach did the demolition of an old deck and got started on digging piers. They encountered some unexpected issues with rock and cement in the soil, but soldiered on without complaint. We had an early delay with plans going back and forth to the county permitting department, but once all that was cleared up, they dove right in began what ended up as a fantastic construction project. Eric, Colton, and Zach were really great to work with on a day-to-day basis - always courteous, hard-working, and all around pleasant guys. The subs Eric called in for framing, electrical, HVAC, and fireplace insert were good craftspeople and did great work under Eric's close supervision. There was a small miscommunication between Eric and us about some doors, but Eric immediately made everything right without a hitch. He was always responsive throughout the process, always communicated the work schedule clearly and accurately, and his attention to detail showed in every step of the work. We were initially drawn to Eric because of his background as a finish carpenter and he brought that level of finish to the entire project. He is a perfectionist and cared about our project like it was his own home. The project was completed in a timely manner and Eric's care with the budget brought everything in on cost. On top of all that, Eric is a really great guy. Due to my interest in woodworking, he invited me to assist him in the construction of the cherry fireplace surround in his shop and he invited my wife out to his house to meet his wife, who toured her through her garden and gave her some plants. In the end, my wife and I say we got exactly what we dreamed of for the house! And we made some new friends. Not many folks can say that about their contractor. We highly, highly recommend him. Eric S. Perry and his team were our first choice for a major remodeling of our home because of the excellent reviews. Although our timeline was delayed due to the pandemic the project started on time. Our downstairs renovation involved removing two walls and installing a steel beam for a great room and making a bathroom accessible. Eric hired excellent subcontractors for electrical, HVAC, flooring and painting jobs. He and his team transformed our family room and kitchen into a 21st century space from it's former incarnation. Our changing requirements were met promptly with understanding and helpful suggestions. The work was done within the proposed budget and any extras were added accordingly. We traveled extensively during the process and felt always that our house was in good hands. Colton and Zac were very polite, a pleasure to have around and cleaned up the workspace every day. All work has been done to our full satisfaction and we recommend Eric S. Perry highly for major remodeling.

Eric redesigned and remodeled our kitchen, dining room and living room space. From the moment we met with potential contractors, we had a good feeling about Eric. He exceeded all of our initial expectations. He is an excellent listener, and a thorough and thoughtful professional. Good communication is pivotal given the amount of decisions, change orders (because you never know really know what's behind a wall or under a floorboard until you knock it down) and overall scheduling of construction. And from the design phase through the final inspection, Eric was great - transparent, ready to problem solve, but most importantly, willing to do whatever he possibly could to make us happy. Eric and his team take great pride in the quality of their work, and the final product exemplifies this commitment. We miss having them around and can't wait to get started on our next project!

Eric remodeled an owners bathroom for us at a prior house and did a beautiful job, on time and on budget. When it came time to remodel the kitchen at our current house, ESP Design and Build was the only contractor we called. Eric and his team turned a dated, dark, awkward space into a beautiful, bright, and functional kitchen. We weren't clear on exactly what we wanted, but Eric and Violet patiently guided us through the planning process, even when we abruptly changed our minds on appliances. In the end, they did a full remodel of our kitchen and laundry room. Eric, Colton and Zac were easy to work with, professional, courteous, communicative - all things that are critical when a good portion of your house is under construction. They calmly dealt with the unexpected and gave us options for resolution to those (very few) issues as they arose. The quality of their work is excellent - it provided a lot of peace of mind to go through this project confident that we would love the final product. We will absolutely call Eric for future projects.

We had previously used Eric and his team for an addition over the garage. When it came time to renovate our 1962 mid-century kitchen, we were fortunate that Eric had availability this year. We are in the very final stages of wrapping up the kitchen (we're waiting on the arrival of a few appliances). Violet was wonderful to work with on the overall design and selection of finishes. As always, Eric's attention to detail and communication skills set him apart from most builders. When we encountered unexpected issues (such as problems with the old subfloor), Eric was great about giving us options and working with us to make sure that understood cost as well as the pro/cons. Colton and Zac did excellent work and were a pleasure. The subcontractors that Eric selected were professional and very skilled. Although we ended up completely gutting the existing kitchen, the final result is beautiful with a greatly improved layout. It was very important that the updated kitchen look appropriate for a mid-century modern house and Eric and his team exceeded our expectations.

Eric, Colton, and the ESP team have done another amazing job! They built an absolute mega deck which has a screened-in porch and gigantic wrap-around for the main living area, and a lower-level patio for the walk-out basement. They also built a new front porch and did some interior work for our fireplace and kitchen. The new wrap-around deck gives so much room to entertain and the new screened-in porch is such an inviting space to hang out. This replaced an undersized, aging deck from the 1970s and a rotting lower-level deck. Because of COVID, everyone knows the importance of being able to enjoy the outdoors and this project has given us an amazing outdoor space (multiple spaces!) to enjoy. Throughout the project, the team dealt with bad weather, summer heat, uncooperative land, and on top of all that, COVID! ESP’s professionalism and workmanship are top notch, and it is always a pleasure to work with them. This is the second project with Eric. We had a completely gut and remodel of our ugly 1970s kitchen a few years ago. You can scroll down to my other review in 2017 for more kudos for Eric’s team. PHENOMENAL! There are so many things to say about Eric and his crew that I don’t even know where to start. We just spent the last 14 months together as Eric completed our major home renovation/expansion project through the pandemic – so we were working from home the entire time and able to spend time with Eric and Colton, and we were able to see the work getting done each day. The experience was phenomenal, from start to finish. Eric figured out the plan for our extremely complicated project and it felt seamless (although we know it took a ton of thought, effort and preparation on his end). Eric made sure that every single thing we asked for, down to the smallest detail, was done to perfection and they didn’t stop until it was to our liking. The final product is unbelievable, it’s more than we ever could have expected or asked for – high quality, custom, detailed. Eric and Colton showed up every day, maneuvering smoothly through the complications of weather and covid, and were a true pleasure to have around. Eric stayed in touch and let us know each day what to expect, he did his best to save us money where possible, and he was respectful of all our many requests even when we changed our minds unexpectedly. In fact, they became part of the family and we are genuinely sad to see this come to an end (I never thought I would say that about a home renovation project!). We are in our dream home now, and could NOT be happier. We have grown to love these guys, and we will 100% be calling them for all future projects. They have been outstanding across the board. It doesn’t quite suffice to say that we give them our highest recommendation – it’s hard to put into words how happy we are with all of the work that they’ve done and how much we love these guys. Off the charts, exceptional.

Eric S. Perry Design and Build are an outstanding company. Eric and Violet and the crew built our magnificent house 3 years ago and I am so glad we were able to use them for an addition to our house. Our family has grown and we needed more room. Eric and his wonderful team added a new play room including a bathroom and additional storage space AND a new garage. You would never know that this was an addition to the house as it was so perfectly matched. Eric and the team are highly skilled, efficient and wonderful individuals. Our experience with Eric S. Perry Design Build exceeded our wildest expectations. We started the design process with Eric and Violet thinking we’d end up getting a pretty nice kitchen renovation and small screened porch. We ended the design and build experience with the kitchen of our dreams, a new half bathroom, and new laundry/mudroom, a beautiful large screened porch and a much sounder, energy efficient and safer home. From start to finish, our project took about a year to complete. This includes a few rounds of design drawings with Violet and Eric. They were able to turn our very small kitchen, family den and unused back bedroom into a highly functional space that works extremely well for our family (just the two of us and a dog!). We had a few setbacks with a very rainy spring, followed by having to level old floors and needing to rebuild exterior walls from some additions put on over the span of 60 years. Eric and his team were able to handle these obstacles with finesse and true craftsmanship. Opening the walls of a home built in the 1950s opened up some surprises, but Eric was able to find solutions that were cost effective and turned out improving the overall quality of our home. Just one example was that he helped us move the main power line in our home (previously was unsafe, had no idea until the walls were opened). This greatly improved the curb appeal of our home, too. Eric also brought in a special engineer to help us get our dream porch built, making sure the proper amendments to the ground were made for a super solid foundation. Eric and his crew are true craftsmen—the trim work in our space is impeccable. He was able to make such tight corners that our corners look like a solid piece of wood. The new wood floors in the space match perfectly with the old oak floors first put down in the 50s. No detail was overlooked, and Eric was able to create some incredible woodworking into the project with some cool designs between fence work, trim work and creating a mudroom bench for us, too. Violet’s design services helped us create a truly unique space that matches our personality. We went with non-traditional blue/green cabinets and very dark appliances, in a large space without an island. At first, we thought an island was the way to go, but Violet helped us see & design a space that is so much more functional without a huge obstacle placed in the middle of our kitchen. She was also able to design the space so we could get a new half bathroom and laundry room off of the kitchen. We had previously met with two other contractors who told us those ideas weren’t possible with the footprint of our home. I’m glad I went with my gut when they told me that! Eric’s communication with us was top-notch. He kept us in the loop, kept a super tidy work space, and was just an absolute joy to work with. Not only did we get an incredible space from him, but we’ve gained his and Violet’s friendship, too. If you aren’t into working with super cool people and like to give out high fives, these folks might not be for you. If you are looking for a team that will design and build a dream space (or spaces!) for you and your family, Eric S. Perry Design & Build is the best out there. We wholeheartedly recommend them, without a single second of hesitation. We hope to have them back out to do a master bedroom/bathroom renovation and addition in the future, too. Eric and Violet Perry were instrumental in bringing our vision of a new rustic modern house with elegantly southern charm into the reality of being our new home. In addition to suggestions to improve my design, Eric and Violet really helped us to coordinate the "look" to be both grande and welcoming. The finishes, many of which where custom done by Eric and his outstanding crew on site, are just beautiful and definitely meet our criteria of subtle and clean. Beyond the design, the interpersonal interactions were fantastic. Eric and Violet are very responsive both in timing and in content, working with us to provide what we as clients want to have in our new home. The relationship that Eric and Violet have built with us, is why we are now engaged in a new project with them, which I am confident will also be just as rewarding.

We used to live in a 1960's house. Tiny, bathrooms, knotty pine walls, back to back old brick fireplaces and a kitchen blocked off from the family room. Now I am living the good life in a virtual mansion--open, light filled kitchen, huge island, built in TV. The bathrooms are spa like, huge walk in showers, heated floors, beautiful tile work. I have attached a picture of the see- through fireplace--gorgeous None of this would have been possible without the genius of Eric and Violet Perry. We just told them I wanted a house we could age in place with. They designed a fully functional home that is both awesome and that we can enjoy forever. They custom designed the house to meet our needs for now and as we age . Incredible to take a 60's house and make it modern and beautiful! Eric somehow always comes up with a way to accomplish what you want--no matter how difficult the challenge. His trim work looks like it belongs in a million dollar home. I can't say enough good things about Violet. She is able to look at a space and envision the final product. Her design skills and color sense cannot be matched. She is fun to work with, always ensuring that the colors and designs work. Never rests, until you are happy, I can't even tell you the number of hours she spent to make sure our house would be a home. In addition, Eric ,Violet and the crew and great to work with. Eric S Perry Design & Build did an outstanding job on my remodel. I had gone through mold remediation and needed a builder who could come into my home and see it's potential. This is exactly what Eric and Violet did for me with their ideas and suggestions when we did a walk through of the project. My kitchen is now a sleek, beautiful and inviting space. Part of their service is Violet's design assistance with the kitchen. I love my new, larger center island. She designed cabinets with a quartz countertop beneath a wall of windows in my dinette area. I can use the space for plants and extra seating. I now have a beverage center with a wine refrigerator and spaces for wine bottles and glasses. I did not want open space above my cabinets. Eric designed crown molding above the cabinets for another gorgeous element to the kitchen. He also reused some of my former kitchen cabinets, painted white by his paint subcontractor, to update an ugly mud room. It is now an attractive, efficient space. I no longer have to close the door when I have guests. Violet also worked her design magic on the downstairs powder room. The rest of the downstairs was updated with a tranquil grey paint on the walls, a dark, warm stain on my hardwood floors and updated lighting. I had always hated the hand rail and balusters going to the second floor. Eric designed and his team crafted a custom rail and newel with wrought iron balusters for the staircase and carried the look to the second floor with the open foyer. Eric and his team did a complete remodel of the guest bathroom. Violet and I started with sea foam green glass tiles and built the rest of bathroom around the green. It has a classy beach look with the wall color, cabinets and artwork of sea turtles and otters I had collected from trips. Violet is a wizard with color. I love the colors she suggested for a guest bedroom and my master bedroom and bath. The master bathroom was a partial remodel. Eric's team did a great job on the new shower and flooring and Violet helped me select tile which would work with the existing cabinets and countertop. I had dreaded the process but Eric S Perry Design & Build made it as painless as possible. I highly recommend them for the service they provide, work quality and their staff and subcontractors.

Eric and his team built an amazing new sunroom, master suite, and patio addition for our home, as well as a front portico. The whole process, from working on the budget to the final finish work, went very smoothly and the end result speaks for itself (it's simply gorgeous). We give Eric and his team the absolute highest rating for the quality of their work and true caring for their clients. Shannon is a master tile mason - sunroom floor with border is stunning, master shower a true showcase, and our Mexican bar sink is just perfect! The finish work (e.g., crown mold) is incredible and really makes the space. We give them 5+ stars for their attention to detail, care and pride in their craft, professionalism, and trustworthiness. All of Eric's subcontractors are the best, as well. Our patio is a custom masterpiece - it turned out better than we could have even imagined. We highly, highly recommend Eric Perry!!

Eric and his team remodeled our master bathroom, changed out some doors in the house including our front door and updated our powder room. He had a great group of guys that work for him. Shannon does excellent tile work. Eric is easily reachable and very responsive to questions. Highly recommend him....his group is honest, easy to work with and everything was cleaned up after each da of work. Great experience!!!

I’ll start by straight out saying that I have to give Eric and his team the absolute highest recommendation. Eric and his team are the best we have ever worked with. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Eric S Perry Design and Build. We own a Chapel Hill home that was built in 1970. It was neglected by the previous owner and after 46 years, it needs a lot of work. Last year, we started working with Eric and his team, and after a few months we have finished a very large, complete gut and remodel of our kitchen, living, and dining room. All the rooms are now part of a new open space in the redesigned floorplan. Our awful, enclosed 1970s kitchen was replaced with an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING new contemporary, modern, open floorplan kitchen. We also did a complete renovation of a guest bathroom. The horrid 1970s green tile, green tub, green sink and matching green toilet (yes...green toilet) were completely gutted and replaced with beautiful new finishes and a large, open, glass standup shower. During our initial consultation and planning meetings, Eric and Violet (Eric’s wife and designer) listened what we wanted and Violet helped come up with a great design, plan and budget. They are so easy and a pleasure to work with. You quickly find out that they are really looking out for you. It is so refreshing to have someone keeping an eye out on your budget without compromising on quality or cutting corners. Eric’s attention to detail and quality is commendable. He is a true professional. He is hardworking, highly skilled and has an amazing team. The craftsmanship by Eric and Shannon (Eric’s right-hand man) is unmatched by anyone. Between Eric’s expert woodworking skills, Shannon’s beautiful work on tile and the rest of his team, everything was taken care of. Eric ensures that all of his team completes the work up to his standards. Everyone on the team is very professional and friendly. Communication was also excellent. He was onsite at my house EVERYDAY to meet with me and discuss the status. He will keep you informed of what is coming up and when homeowner decisions need to be made by you. When I was out of town or not available, Eric kept me informed with photos and texts. ESP is 5-stars on Houzz and completely worth it. You HAVE to give Eric a call to at least have a consultation with him before deciding on anyone. Our 1970s home needs a LOT of love and we will be giving him a call again. We are so glad that it is a no brainer to call ESP for our next project.

My 1990s Chapel Hill home has not been maintained properly when all our kids were in college almost at the same time and I travel overseas quite a bit. We found wood rot and leaks around the doors, windows, gutters, etc. After reading the reviews in this web page, I contacted Eric to discuss the project. We finalized the project while I was overseas. I asked our friend to let Eric and his team enter the house and do their work. We replaced the roof, all doors and windows, siding, carpet, and repaint the whole house. Eric and his team build the best expanded deck at the back of the house. Eric sent me pictures regularly to show how the project progressing. When my wife arrived from overseas only to find the house was still in a mess, Eric made sure that she was comfortable to use the bedroom, bath, kitchen, and put everything back in order. The team has amazing skills and trustworthy. We are now considering our next project to remodel the kitchen and bathrooms.

Eric and his crew just finished a remodel of my 1986 original master bathroom and I am completely thrilled with the results. They removed a wall, and installed a pocket door - Two features that make the space feel so much bigger and brighter. Working with Violet in the design phase was a dream. Having her to advise and help with the many choices was a real bonus. The workmen were all so professional and skilled and truly came through with the quality work that they promised. I have already had two neighbors ask for Eric's contact info and I would recommend him to anyone needing interior or exterior work done. The experience was very positive in every way and I appreciate Eric's efforts to make it so.

Eric and his crew have done 2 extensive jobs for us. The first one involved an addition to the second floor along which was a big undertaking. The most recent was complete renovation of all 3 bathrooms. The guys did an excellent job.

Eric and his team removed French Doors from our bedroom going out to our patio and replaced them with a transom window. They had frame in the door, install the exterior siding and paint the new wood. On the inside they insulated and put up new drywall and baseboard. They were on time, very professional and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Eric S. Perry Design and Build was recommended to us by our neighbor and we couldn't be happier. Starting from the consultation, Eric and Violet were a pleasure to work with, suggesting layout and decor ideas and making everything very visual and clear. The work itself was done in the same manner - honest, professional, masterfully skilled, punctual, neat and detailed. The finished work is simply beautiful and screams "quality and masterpiece" all over. The team of Eric, Shannon and Tim are fantastic. Eric and his team were terrific. Shannon was a master tiler. They listened to my needs and suggestions and helped me with design ideas. Eric always kept my budget in mind and actually completed the job under budget. They were prompt, considerate and respectful of my home and schedule. Absolutely trustworthy, I could leave the house and not be at all concerned. They cleaned up every day and made sure none of their equipment, etc was in the way. They stored some of their equipment in my garage and I came home one day to find they had cleaned the entire garage for me! My master bath is gorgeous - done on time and on budget. Added plus was the great sense of humor they had - made the process fun and left me with a smile every day! I recommend them without reservation - go for it!

Eric completely renovated our kitchen and bathroom. We had previously renovated a kitchen and did quite a bit or remodeling on this home and other homes. Eric is the BEST contractor we have ever used. Our project took 7 weeks to complete, Eric stayed on budget and on time. He was at our home EVERYDAY until completion. He and his crew are extremely polite and enjoyable to be around. We miss seeing them now that our project is finished. The work site was cleaned everyday, a mess was never left. Their work is meticulous. Our kitchen and bath came out more beautiful than I could have imagined. We are thrilled. We will be building a new home in a few years and we would not even consider hiring anyone but Eric!

This is my second review since I was fortunate to have Eric and his crew back to my home for additional renovations . In early 2015 the worked was in the front of my home when Eric designed and built a beautiful front porch, replaced and added windows, and renovated a bedroom closet. This year Eric was back to expand my second bedroom and replace the deck! It’s been a few months and I am still amazed by the finished product. The addition is beautiful and now a bright multi-use space with lots of windows. Eric designed a functional closet with barn like doors and the room’s glass door steps out to my stunning new deck. Eric’s high standards are evident and I feel good knowing everything was done really well. Once again Eric and his crew were great – very professional and friendly and I actually enjoyed having them around. One dreaded issue with renovation work can be the disruption while it is happening but this wasn't so much the case with Eric and his crew. They were punctual, trustworthy, very respectful. Eric’s work has totally changed the look and feel of my small home, I applaud him and his crew and thank them for the awesome changes. However I am still not done and hope to see Eric back in the near future – my kitchen is in pretty desperate need of repair.

My husband and I purchased a foreclosure in Chapel Hill. This small home had several 'must do' renovation projects. The kitchen was first on the list. Since we were new to the area, we did not know tradesmen or builders. After interviewing a few, we decided that Eric would be the one. We chose him because he was crystal clear on his costs, showed the ability to create a design by working with us, and his team had a can do attitude. We were very pleased as the project went forward, and the project actually spread to other areas of the home. Eric solved problems created by the Kitchen Designer, with his amazing woodworking skills, and brought a us a finished product that affected multiple areas of the house ending on schedule with both high quality and economy. Now, when folks visit, they are always complementary.

We have used Eric’s services before on a previous project, which was doing the finish work in our basement that was lacking the final wall covering and window and door treatments. We wanted authentic Arts and Crafts woodwork, which is one of his favorite periods. He is the true craftsman for which that movement was named. Each wall, window, and door frame received individual attention. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Eric's eye for design exceeded anything we had in mind. Once we saw a sample of what he envisioned for the woodwork, we "turned him loose," confident in his abilities and eye for detail. He converted an unfinished storage area into a warm, inviting space that everyone in our family, and visitors, gravitate toward. When our new project started taking shape, we waited until Eric could schedule us. No reason to risk quality or satisfaction with someone else when Eric had already proven himself so well. The new project started small but grew bigger in a good way. We needed to renovate some existing decking, stairs, and railing. Eric proposed a much better looking, sturdier, and longer-lasting design, and we could tell right away that it was going to be all those things. As the renovations proceeded, we expanded our plans to include removing an old metal carport, replacing it with a garage attached to the house, and adding a small deck on the rear of the garage. Eric provided all services from start to finish. He was very mindful of budget, but would not scrimp or take shortcuts that reduced quality. He is trained, and very qualified, in all aspects of homebuilding and renovation. His experience in historic preservation and rehabilitation give him a unique perspective and valuable experience. He is dedicated to using the safest and sturdiest techniques, sometimes exceeding code standards, because he wants to do a job that both he and the owners will be proud of 30 years from now. We wholeheartedly recommend him.

My husband and I were building our retirement dream home and having Eric as our trim man was the best thing that ever happened to us! Our home had intricate trim work and Eric was a master wood worker. His work ethic and professionalism are superb. Eric has recently remodeled our daughter's home and it is absolutely beautiful. I first met Eric Perry when he responded to my inquiry for a remodeling project my wife and I were considering on our home in Chapel Hill, NC. This project would be extensive and would require a dismantling of the back of the house and garage side structures. Therefore, it was very important for us to select an experienced builder. Phone calls to the other two contractors selected at the time informed me that only a best guess estimate would be given until a formal contract was signed, and then meetings could be arranged. Meanwhile, Eric Perry was at my house, measuring, reviewing the existing house layout and architectural drawings, and offering many valuable ideas on how best to proceed. The extreme effort and enthusiasm he showed provided a great first impression. As we delved deeper into the project, I noted that Eric had a great deal of construction knowledge and first-hand carpentry training and experience. He provided me with several ideas for maximizing storage space and general layout that also would reduce overall costs. These included foundation and sub-floor design, window and door selection and placement, and roof and framing detail. Needless to say, we chose Eric S. Perry Design & Build, Inc. for our renovation project, and it was the best decision we could have made. Since this project was an extensive renovation of our existing home requiring complete demolition of the rear wall of the house and the adjacent interior, Eric’s expertise in restoration and renovation really paid off for us. As the project unfolded, Eric came up with ingenious ways to solve problems that otherwise would have seriously impacted the final interior space, i.e providing unobstructed nine and ten foot ceiling heights throughout, correcting out of square corners and out of plumb walls in the existing structure, and running a proper storm water drainage system where none existed before. These were just a few of the items that emerged as the old structure was removed. Our potential stress over dealing with these issues never materialized because Eric had solutions that he discussed with us right away without losing any precious time towards completion. Additionally, when these unforeseen events occurred, Eric never took advantage of the situation by overcharging us to perform the additional work, but instead provided real value that greatly enhanced our final living space. This was the first time I had ever experienced this level of knowledge, expertise, and honesty from a building contractor. Eric and his excellent direct employees as well as all of his subcontractors were very professional, friendly, and a pleasure to have around throughout the project. The project was finished on time and on budget which again was a new experience for us. We are thrilled with the final product, and the addition/renovation has improved the home tremendously. Our experience with Eric and Violet Perry was exceptional, and I felt compelled to tell others. One year later we decided to renovate our existing master bathroom and this time the only person I called was Eric Perry. He and his crew provide the finest finish carpentry I have ever seen. Eric is a master finish carpenter and is passing along this learned skill to his team. He and members of his team are honest and trustworthy which is a unique virtue in the world today. The finished bathroom came in below budget and on time once again. The new bathroom greatly enhances our living space and adds much value to the property. The subcontractor that installed the frame-less shower door system asked me “who did the tile work?” because he had never seen such a perfect job. I said “it was Shannon who works directly for Eric”. The tile work is exceptional and Shannon used an epoxy based grout so we never have to worry about mildew or mold forming on the grout lines. Lastly, I just finished a walk-through of a brand new house ESP Design & Build, Inc. is just completing in Alamance County. Before arriving, my expectations of quality and design were quite high based on my personal experience with Eric. However, even these high expectations were exceeded as I walked through the structure inside and out. The attention to detail, use of space, and finish carpentry is so superior to other new home construction that I have encountered in our area. Just as in our two renovation projects, I could see numerous ingenious and creative touches personally provided by Eric to the future homeowners. These included custom made cabinetry, innovative deck and railing design, green energy throughout, exteriors that are impervious to water and rot, and creative finish trim that is unique to the space. My wife and I are now excited about the possibility of building a new home in the future, and we will look forward to working with Eric and his team on this project as well.

Eric Perry and his team were AWESOME! I had a bonus room converted to a lovely 4th bedroom for my daughter, plus a front porch addition and new roof. Eric and his team were professional from the start. Eric built and installed bookcases and a bar. His craftsmanship is stunning! You will not be disappointed by the beauty of his work. We were impressed that Eric and his crew stayed within budget, were always on time and cleaned up the work area daily (two separate areas of the house). The crew was friendly and considerate. ESP not only provided us with a competitive estimate for our project, the company delivered on every promise. They used only the best subs. When changes to design were considered, all costs were explained. They were always professional and respectful of our busy schedule. We would gladly contract with them again. Eric and his team did a total reconstruction of our master shower, which had a leak that resulted in significant wet rot. While we were at it, we also replaced our master sinks and counter tops. Eric provided excellent advice and good contacts for selecting the materials. He was cognizant of our pocketbook and his team were great to work with. They were very professional, showed up on time, protected adjacent areas, and cleaned up each day. We were highly impressed and pleased with the results.

Eric (ESP Design & Build) finished off a 1000 sq. ft. area in our walk out basement. This included 3.5 rooms, including a large bathroom. Several contractors had submitted proposals, and Eric was by far the most knowledgeable, responsive, and timely. He was also extremely cost competitive. Once contracted the job was started and completed expeditiously and professionally, with work of the highest quality. Eric and his team are meticulous in every aspect of the job. Eric also seems to be a master of working with and managing subcontractors. My wife and I are totally delighted by the new addition to our house.
