Gord is an exceptional contractor with a keen eye for detail and an incredible ability to organize trades, meet deadlines and stay on budget - no matter how evolving the project may be. He works with the very best suppliers and trades in the city and it's obvious they also have a tremendous amount of respect for him. Our neighbours even commented about how courteous he was during our build. We appreciated his ability to "go with the flow" and more importantly, his patience, as we spun our wheels on many decisions! The quality of our home speaks for itself.

It took us years to finally commit to the much needed kitchen reno for our 1980s home. We had "dipped" our toes into the reno world by updating two bathrooms, figuring that we could use the smaller projects to help us select someone for the more disruptive larger kitchen reno. We were discouraged by the experiences - until a chance meeting at a home renovation show with some former Weima Design clients. They assured us that Gord Weima was professional, knowledgeable and would provide us with quality workmanship and a result that we would love. After an initial meeting to discuss our needs and wishes, we were convinced that we had met the right contractor for our reno. It has been 2 years since the kitchen ( and the main bathroom) were updated by Gord, and we couldn't be happier with the results. There were a few glitches and minor delays along the way but they were handled with professionalism and schedules were adapted to keep things moving. We absolutely love the new kitchen and bathroom! There are a few other updates that we are considering for our home, and we won't consider using anyone other than Gord Weima to do them.

When it comes time to pick a custom home builder, there are a whirlwind of thoughts that run through your head. The items that topped my list were finding a great builder, staying on time and on budget, trust and getting exactly what I envisioned. I chose Gordon Weima after interviewing a number of other firms in Ottawa. He was the only one with the blend of design “Wow” factor as well as an innate trustworthiness. I made that choice back in 1999 when he did my first home renovation. I am happy to say that not only was the end result everything I wanted, but the finished product also won an award with the Ottawa-Carleton Home Builders’ Association in 2000. When I sold that house last year and wanted to build a new one, I was only interested in working with one builder, Gordon Weima. This time I gave him a picture of a house I liked and two weeks after a pleasant question and answer session about what I needed and wanted in the new space, he presented me with a set of plans that were the perfect culmination of my wishes all wrapped up in a beautifully custom-designed home. It was as if he had taken my melody and created his own symphony. The build was smooth from beginning to end. Gordon is a methodical, logical man as well as great listener. He always followed though quickly on any decisions. He suggested companies for me to visit to choose various finishes, but he didn’t take exception to me going elsewhere. He had excellent design suggestions for every aspect of the home. When I was at a decision impasse, he would gently help me make what was always the correct choice. The budget factored into every decision and he allowed me to choose how high or low to go on every item that went into the home. The billing process was simple and professional with copies of each work order and purchase attached to the bills. Whenever there was a problem, of which there were very few, Gord would come up with a solution that was logical and effective. There was never a time where I felt frustrated about the build. He was always friendly, professional and an absolute gentlemen to myself and my partner, as was each tradesperson involved with the creation of the house. The companies he used were pleasant and friendly and did fast, clean and crisp work. All in all, this was an enjoyable experience and I tell everyone how lucky I am to have had him as my design builder. He embodies everything a client could possibly want. He is a great designer with an excellent eye for what will work for the client’s taste, as well as a fabulous home builder who works within budget. He runs the construction on schedule, and most of all, he is trustworthy and easy to work with. I cannot thank him enough for creating a home that gives me a happy feeling every time I walk in. His ability to suggest different and innovative approaches to matters during construction was invaluable. We also always knew the best tradespeople were working on our home as he has long-standing relationships with his team. The end result was a home of the highest-quality that truly reflected our style. Not only did we end up with our dream house, we ended up forging a great friendship with Gordon. Right from the outset, he was excited about the project and invested himself in the process. He provided excellent advice and was always available to deal with issues as they arose. His open communication style and attention to detail allowed us to rest assured our home was in good hands.
