We hired Green Building by Design to remodel the upper floor of our 2 story house, which included a new kitchen, master bathroom, wood floors and staircase, and fireplace mantels. We were extremely happy with Mariano and his team, and highly recommend them! Mariano was highly professional, always responsive, has a good eye for design, and pays close attention to the details and quality of the work. In our experience, he operated with the highest degree of integrity and transparency. Mariano brought top quality, very experienced, tradesmen to the job. They were all masters of their craft, and very focused on getting everything done just right. True artists! The project was completed on time and on budget. The project took 3 months, and Mariano was excellent at maintaining momentum. Every workday, and even several Sundays, Mariano found ways to make forward progress to stay on pace for completion. Mariano, Rosa, and the whole team did a great job and made the whole process enjoyable!

I’ve worked with Green Building by Design for several years and have only good things to say. Home remodels are very intense for the homeowner and I should know. I lived in my house during the master bedroom/bathroom/basement/rooftop deck addition with my wife, twin daughters, and two cats….and we all survived and are thoroughly pleased with the outcome. If it weren’t for the careful and conscientious design phase of the project, things wouldn’t have turned out so well and continue to be well. Mariano withstood many of our “great” ideas, understood our goals, and tirelessly produced solutions that ultimately turned out to be a huge success. Green Building by Design is my design and GC of choice from here on out and I highly recommend them.

I live in a Craftsman house that was built in 1922. It had a porch that spanned the front of the house, but somewhere along the line a previous owner decided to close it in. When I bought it in 1998 the area where the porch had been was a laundry room to the right, and a foyer to the left. The house was very plain and boring, and had very little curb appeal. I finally had enough funds to do some things that I had wanted to do for quite some time. I replace the 1 1/2 car garage with a 2 car at the back of the property and an art studio attached. I also wanted a larger master bedroom. Most of all, I wanted the front porch to be open again, and to look like it did when the house was first built. The change in the front of the house is astounding. Anyone who knew what the house looked like before, or sees an old photo has the same reaction...WOW! After the architect completed his plans I chose Green Building by Design to be my general contractor. Mariano Velazquez, the owner, was (and still is) the most professional and caring person I have ever worked with. Every time I had a concern he was on top of it immediately, and continued until it was resolved. I would recommend him to anyone.

Green Builders was truly fantastic! We don't live in the area and Green Builders took on the project and handled it totally professionally. Everything was done on schedule and we couldn't be happier with our finished home. I absolutely recommend them for your remodel or rebuild!
