Harper Design is wonderful to deal with. Christine listens to your priorities and remembers to protect them as construction launches. She keeps track of the details and is constantly throwing out ideas and workarounds with our contractor and engineers when something behind a wall throws a new challenge at us. Christine keeps a close eye on the budget and always recommends a reasonable option. She is honest and refreshingly upfront about things you want and sometimes don't want to hear. :) We never feel tension even though a renovation is typically very stressful. That has been a game changer during a global pandemic.

HBD (Christine & Ryan) did a fantastic job design-build on our gut renovation of our townhouse. They listened to our goals and budget and made suggestions that worked to meet both of them. They did excellent work, took pride in it and assured that their team did so through out the project. We loved their attention to detail (and that's coming from someone who is very detail oriented). We had fun working with them and would do it again.

In our second major Manhattan renovation project with Harper Design & Build, we engaged with design and architectural services to renovate a 2,400 square foot apartment including multiple layout changes, multiple new bathrooms, an entirely new kitchen, new sub-floor and floor, lighting HVAC and everything in between. We got just the right amount of guidance and recommendations while having room to explore our own aesthetic. They managed the project timeline and our expectations all along the way and we cannot recommend them more highly. We're thrilled with the results!

We brought Christine and her team on board as the architect for a gut renovation of a wood frame townhouse in Brooklyn. Rookies to the renovation arena, she guided us through the design process with a clear vision while helping us attain the best version for our growing family. We constantly and continually asked tons of questions and she and Heather have been with us every step of the way making creative suggestions that we love aesthetically and keep within our budget. When setting out to find a contractor Christine worked tirelessly as our advocate to find the right fit. She has an amazing attention to detail as she thoroughly analyzed each bid, line by line, and made numerous call outs when items were not adding up. In the end we made a last minute switch in contractors and could not be happier thanks to HDB. These projects are very stressful, especially if you’ve never done them before, and I truly can say that Christine and her team have been the perfect partners and trusted friends. They're on top of things and a calming force when issues arise. She and Ryan are down to earth and we can’t wait to soon be “neighbors.”

Christine and Ryan were great to deal with during our kitchen and living space renovation. They were responsive and sensitive to budget issues, and when changes needed to be made, they were very clear as to why. The finished product continues to make us very happy, two years after it was completed. Their team was a pleasure to have in the house..polite, respectful and friendly. We lived on site during the renovation, and I was actually a little sad to see the guys go at the end.

HDB served as the architect on our full gut renovation of our house. They listened to our desires and wishes for our "forever home" and designed a general layout and house that works incredibly well for our family. They worked around space constraints, a narrow townhouse footprint and designed a full floor addition to give us a master suite we had only dreamed of. They handled construction management in an extremely professional fashion and handled every hurdle and problem thrown in our path over the course of our 18+ month renovation with an incredible amount of knowledge and support. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend HDB for your architectural and construction projects. There's no way we could have completed this project without them. Their experience, knowledge and oversight was instrumental in our reaching the finish line.
