We purchased a new build back in October 2015, and so far the process has been very easy and smooth. I don't have much to compare it to, however a few years ago we purchased a condo from a builder and were able to pick our interior finishings. We heard good things about Avi, found a great spot to build, and the price was right. We really wanted to be able to customize as much as we could and I feel like we were able to really do that without completely re-vamping the floor plan or just doing a straight up custom house. Avi has quite a large design studio in Edmonton that you can go in on a Saturday and look at the selections available so you can prepare yourself for what you like and don't like. Some people think that the process can be overwhelming, but we worked with an interior designer (Becky S.) at Avi and she was unbelievable. She helped us through the process and made the whole selection process smooth and fun. At this point, the foundation has been poured and they just started framing. I thought that they could have started everything sooner, but maybe there was some legal stuff that needed sorting out, however, we are set to be done within a month of what they originally told us. We are looking forward to the final product, and hope that I can still keep my recommendation as strong as I feel now, if not stronger. However, in terms of the initial process, the people we dealt with, the selections available and the "bang for your buck", I would definitely recommend Homes By Avi to anyone.
