Living in an 1860s farmhouse, we wanted to preserve the charm and history of our property, and HSO Contracting made that possible. The barn / garage was in dire need of repair—the roof was caving in, and the walls were rotting away. Despite these issues, the structure itself was stable and just needed some care. The Town building department initially advised us to demolish the entire barn /garage, pour a new slab, and rebuild. However, HSO Contracting proposed a restoration project that aligned perfectly with our vision. From the start, HSO Contracting's skilled carpenters were fabulous. They arrived each day at 7:30 AM and left at 4:30 PM, ensuring the site was clean and ready for the next day's work. Their professionalism and dedication were evident throughout the project. They were always willing to adapt to our vision and truly cared about their work, believing they were reincarnating this old barn /garage. And they did just that! The use of weekly video updates and video for questions related to construction help to make sure the end product is what was planned or envisioned. HSO was fantastic to work with! Hans listened to what we wanted, and then took that and created a bedroom and bathroom renovation beyond anything we could have ever imagined. We will definitely use HSO Contracting for any future projects for our home.

We have used HSO for several projects at our home: converting a deck into a screened in porch, renovating our outdoor shower, remodeling one bath and constructing a new one, and some general repairs on the exterior. You know how you wonder if you can find someone to work on your home who is as worried as you about getting it done right? About showing up when they say they will? About giving you an accurate estimate? About treating your home as if it were their own? About ensuring your home's security while the work is ongoing? About coordinating all the trades necessary so that a complete job is done - from demolition to painting? That is HSO! We are not full-time in our home, so we were not able to be there all the time to oversee the work being done. But our experience has been to not have one worry or misstep in every project. With regular video updates and questions, and regular emails, texts, or phone calls, we have been informed and consulted every step of the way. It’s been a pleasure to work with Hans and his crew! We have used them now for several projects as we work to update our newly acquired home. Hans and his crew are creative, complete high quality work, and are excellent communicators. As problematic issues are discovered in our old home, it is brought to our attention promptly with knowledgeable people brought on site to solve the issue. The crew at HSO and all the people they brought to work on our house were fantastic. Having been through a major renovation before, I can say that this experience was much smoother, despite the fact that we live four hours away and couldn't check in on the work regularly. First, the communication from our project manager and the team was fantastic. We got regular updates on the work either through email or often through videos they made and sent us. There were very few surprises or changes in scope, and the regular invoices and project cost estimate updates were really transparent and clear. And, of course, we were very happy with the quality of the work. Everyone cared about getting things right and doing a good job, taking care of the home, and it all shows in the results. They also really listened to what we wanted from a design perspective and weren't pushing things that didn't fit with our vision, which was critical. We did a new kitchen, deck, outdoor shower, new floors and a few smaller items as well. When we need more work done, we will be calling HSO again without hesitation.

We are very satisfied with HSO Contracting's work on our kitchen renovation project. They were very easy to communicate with (important since since we were out of the area during the project), keeping us informed on project progress via YouTube videos, their project management software, and other means. They were very responsive to our questions and change requests and we appreciated that they asked for clarification rather than just making assumptions about what we wanted. The quality of the HSO’s workmanship is evident everywhere we look. The project was very well managed overall and came in within our timeframe and budget expectations. HSO did an excellent job reviewing my 20-year home with regard to identifying the most cost-effective means of doing needed repairs and upgrades. These involved decking, insulation, venting, painting, and replacing a door and some exterior trim. HSO was actively involved coordination of activities, like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The craftsmen that worked with or for HSO were all highly skilled, reliable, and exceptionally neat. Work was beautifully done, on time, and on budget. And the house was always left as clean as the workmen found it. I highly recommend HSO for home improvement project.s
