All the remodel happened with in the timeline they gave us. They also were willing to accommodate us so we could stay in the house during the remodel.

Bryant and his entire team did a first-rate job on a difficult repair/restoration job in a 100+ year old home. From initial consultation through structural and engineering analysis to the final trim finish-out things went smoothly with excellent on-site supervision and coordination of subcontractors. Communication along the way was outstanding. Work was completed on time and within budget. We are so pleased we have contracted with Bryant for new construction project to begin in early 2020!

We chose Bryant’s design and build services for our extensive renovation in the Georgetown historic district. The design beautifully incorporated all of the features that we wanted, and it has been a joy to see the talented tradespeople he uses create our next home from that design. Everyone on his staff was always available to answer questions throughout the entire process. During the construction we were provided with weekly updates letting us know what had happened that week and what was expected to happen the following week. In addition, we were frequently consulted to make sure that what was happening was exactly what we were expecting and to make sure that we were pleased with the quality of the work. I don’t know what else one could expect. The end result has gone beyond our expectations.
In addition to all of the above, Bryant and his staff are genuinely nice people: it is difficult to imagine going through this process without them.

Bryant and his team assisted me in updating and remodeling a very old former residence that I had used as an office for twenty years. His architectural designs and suggestions for improvements, as well as his construction team's competence and experience resulted in a sale of the property which far exceeded my investment. J.Bryant Boyd did an amazing remodel on our 1894 home in Old Town. The project outcome is beautiful and the work quality and professionalism were more than we even imagined. They remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms as well as adding a powder and laundry room. They were always easy to contact and were very prompt in returning calls. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering a project.

We contracted with J Bryant Boyd to do a remodel of our Kitchen and Master Bath. We were very pleased with
the planning and execution of the Design and Build of our project.
During the planning stage we were given ample time to review and comment on the design, details of the build, and
the execution of the build.
The design team listened to our comments/questions and made the changes we requested. The team was also very
upfront about changes as to their practicality and their impact on the projects timing.
The team also made small changes in the design and layout of the work which proved to improve the overall visual effect of the remodel.
During the build stage, we remained in the house and while there was noise and dust, we found that all of the subs did their best to
minimize the impact on us.
Bryant’s team kept us informed of work progress and when we had questions they always got right back to us with both a status and update on the
build progress.
We are so very pleased to say we got everything we asked for in the contract and feel the work and our finished Kitchen and Master Bath look wonderful.

Not really sure of all the ins and outs of selecting a contractor who had the knowledge and experience, more importantly the patience, to work with me on a workshop. There were numerous items on my list to include a budget for my project. Mr. Boyd not only met my needs he exceeded them. Working with Bryant and his team has been a pleasure. He is professional and honest, with a talented support team but he is always personally available and responsive when needed. Bryant and his team helped my wife and I think through our remodel and they provided solid advice and insight that helped us to improve our design. We expanded our living room by "capturing" about 200 square feet from the back porch. Since J Bryant Boyd designed our home when it was built in 2009, we decided to use him for the expansion. It was a wise decision as he was able to retrieve the original specifications and plan from the existing information. The added space has made a huge difference in living room quality. We were also able to address a few other improvements during the process with the assistance of Sid Allen who was the construction supervisor.

Very poor customer service. We started a project with Bryant for a remodel of our home in Georgetown. It took forever for them to respond to emails/calls. The turn around time for a drawing took weeks. We gave a check in February and still have nothing to show for it. We expressed how we were discouraged and disappointed about how long it was taking. We received an email today stating that they could no longer complete our project. We still have nothing for the money we paid. I would not recommend them.

Karen Kostroun and TJ Nissen did reach out to our company and ask us to help them with a remodel of their home in Serenada. TJ was solely involved in our early conversations about the home and Karen became more involved after the project moved forward. We completed the as built drawing of the existing home, had a full programming meeting and produced three different design presentations with the client between February 10th (The day we signed the agreement) and May 5th (the day the agreement was terminated). While I agree with Karen that the project was taking longer than we desired, we did produce work for her and made changes based on her input. So, to say that she has “nothing to show for it” is simply untrue.
The termination of our agreement was not something that we asked for. After receiving several complaints from Karen about the speed with which the project was progressing we reached out to TJ and asked him if Karen was so upset with our performance would she like to terminate our agreement. TJ’s response to us was “maybe that would be best”. So, while we did send an email telling her that the project was terminated and she did not owe us any more money, we did not simply tell her we would no longer complete her drawing…this was per their request.
I certainly appreciate that Karen is disappointed with the outcome of her project. We are as well. We strive to create happy clients who love their homes and I believe that the clear majority of our clients do love the homes we design and build for them. This can be seen from our reviews, testimonials, design awards, national and international publications and the thousands of happy clients we have worked with throughout the last 25 years. We wish Karen and TJ the best and hope they are able to create a home they truly love.

I have had the blessing of knowing Bryant since childhood, and our paths always cross at the right time. When our family brought in a 4 year child, we quickly realized we needed more room. One call to Bryant and 'Team J. Bryant Boyd' quickly designed and coordinated a seamless addition to our beautiful 2 story colonial built in 1935. Their passion of listening to our needs, and their experience of value added design and construction was a great experience.

If you are looking for a group of people that take the time to listen to every detail of your new home design they are the right choice for you!!
Our initial meeting with Bryant and his staff was about 4 hours of Bryant trying to get to know us and every detail of what we wanted our new home to look like. He goes over every room and every detail of that room before any design begins. The result of this for us was the first design out off the printer ended up being the build. All of the sub contractors they use are true professionals and quality is superb. I was at our project nearly every day and was always impressed with the site being cleaned regularly. I have had the opportunity to see some of my friends homes being built and realize the quality of J Bryant Boyd Design-Build stands well above the competition. The staff he has put together is very talented and made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. The final phase of punch list and corrections before move in was handled so quickly and seemlesly It was amazing. The warranty coordinator scheduled and managed the corrections as well as followed through with post correction inspections diligently. We all know that building a custom home is not an easy task with bumps along the way but JBB did a great job smoothing the bumps and producing a very high quality custom home the we will enjoy for many years

J. Bryant Boyd, is the best company for home building and remodeling. My remodel started out with a new kitchen and as all things go, I continued to upgrade bathrooms, added wood floors, painted the entire house and many, many big and little extras. Each time I requested something, Suzanne Horne, my supervisor of the job, didn't hesitate to take care of it. She is the jewel of this company. She's kind, thoughtful and respected my changes, add-on, etc.
The people at J. Bryant Boyd, from JB himself to Suzanne to Christy and the ones I didn't see, are wonderful and are dedicated to making sure what you want in your home is what you get.
I would highly and I truly do mean it, recommend J. Bryant Boyd, to built a house or remodel. You'll be so glad you did.

It was easy to see in the Old Town district of Georgetown which homes stood out as renovations/remodels that appealed to us with the workmanship and quality that we were looking for! J. Bryant Boyd and his team are a full service design/build firm that guide us from start to finish! Bryant even met with us to help decide on which properties would lend themselves to be transformed and met our wishes as far as space and budget would allow. We met with them with our ideas and they took what we wanted and truly brought it to life. His entire staff could not have been more professional, friendly, and really willing to go the extra mile to ensure our happiness! From the design meetings, to the construction drawings, to the permits, to budget meetings, to execution, to move-in and beyond, we could not have asked for more! We have been working with Bryant to design and eventually build our new home. We contacted him when we were looking at a lot and wanted to get a professional opinion on whether the lot would be viable to build on without massive expense to level, etc. He was incredibly helpful and we ended up purchasing the lot. Fast forward and we've met with Bryant several more times to work on house plans. We received the rough draft and they pretty much nailed it. We love Bryant's no nonsense approach. He listens to what you what, how you plan to use your spaces and designs the house accordingly. He is mindful of our budget and gives us options of features that will work in every space. We are so looking forward to the future and seeing our new home come together!

As a designer, I've had the opportunity to work with many different builders and general contractors and Bryant and his team are definitely the best! They really listen to the clients needs and desires and then design and build exactly what the client wants. They have a wealth of experience and talent on their team and it shows in the end results of the beautiful homes their clients get to enjoy! Anyone who has built or remodeled, knows that in construction, things never go perfectly, but it's the way things are handled when things don't go right that matter most. I've never seen a builder take ownership of a construction project like Bryant and his team do. They really care about their clients and want the building experience to be as smooth and stress free as possible, and that is a big part of why they have the success they do!

Bryant was helpful and listened to our needs. He had great ideas on making things more efficient. Our only disappointment was the length of time it took to get our plans completed. We had never done this type of project before and were not quite sure what to expect. I would recommend asking more questions than we asked.

Working with Bryant and his team to bring our dream home to reality was great fun, inspirational, educational and so stress-free that we have considered doing it all again! We came to the design process thinking we knew what we wanted; Bryant was able to bring the detail in our minds to life, teaching us about possible placement on our lot, considering our mandate to not sacrifice old trees, and more importantly perhaps, he provided cost efficient information about affordability of alternatives. Looking back, there is not one design element, angle, placement or detail that we would change. Because Bryant knows how to listen, he carefully noted who we are, how we live and how our lives flow within the structure of the place we call Home.

We contracted with Bryant as our architect for our custom home in 2006. Bryant and his staff are friendly and professional. Bryant heard all of our comments and needs and incorporated them into a plan that we still love after seven years.
Even after this many years we have stayed in touch with Bryant and have used him for other plans and concept/ideas.
We have confidently referred our friends to Bryant and continue to hold him and his team in high regard.
If we ever build another custom home we will definitely use Bryant for the design and this time we would use his team for construction as well.

J. Bryant Boyd and his team designed and built a house for us. My husband and I were downsizing and came to him with fairly specific ideas of how we wanted the house to function to accommodate us, our dogs, our hobbies, and our guests now and as we age in place. Bryant is an extraordinarily good listener and the design was a beautiful manifestation of what we were looking for and acurately reflected our needs and desires.
It is a "green" house with features (appropriate orientation on the lot, geothermal heating/cooling, foam insulation, energy efficient windows) to minimize energy use. It also has a rainwater collection system and a native plant landscape.
We worked mainly with Bryant during the design process but really got to know and admire his team during the construction process. They all worked together to be sure that the work was done according to the plans and that everything was completed to our satisfaction. The construction process was smooth and drama-free. They project took a little longer than we expected but cost basically what we expected it to cost. We are delighted with the house and highly recommend Bryant and his team.

My wife and I recently had the opportunity to add an outdoor living area to our house of 19 years. On the recommendation from a friend in the building trades, we hired Bryant Boyd to design and provide build to spec drawings. He and his staff were very easy to work with throughout the entire process.
When it came time to solicit bids, we included Bryant Boyd along with two other well known and highly recommended builders. He was the only one who arrived with every one of the associated building trades and he was the lowest bidder. AND not only was everything completed ahead schedule but to my surprise, when all of the incremental billings came in, it was under cost.
Throughout the construction process, Bryant and or the project supervisor came by each day (sometimes more than once a day) to make sure every process was running smoothly.
The final product has been described as something out of a magazine and we owe it all to Bryant and his staff. A photo should be available on J. Bryant Boyd's web site and on his profile. We felt so strongly about the final results that we posted a sign on our front lawn and invited everyone to drop by on 7 Oct to see first hand the final product. If you would like to see the completed outdoor living area, you need only to arrange through a member of Mr. Boyd's staff; we would be more than happy to show off the results of Bryant's design and build team.
I was recently contacted by someone considering retaining the services of Mr. Boyd. After giving my thoughts to the perspective client, I realized I had never taken the time to post a review.
