I can recommend JDL Development very highly. At the beginning of 2020 I worked with Jeff and Mike on an extensive remodel of my 2000 sf condominium. JDL finished the project on time, under budget and with a high level of quality workmanship. JDL was a pleasure to work with because they always answered calls and emails quickly. They also worked very well with the condominium association and the City. JDL created the exact home I hoped for. I would use them again without hesitation.

We have worked with JDL for over 20 years on a wide variety of both new and remodeled homes. They are very detailed in their bidding , communications and overall execution of the projects. We are currently working on three projects this year. We would highly recommend them if you are considering a construction project in the Portland and surrounding metropolitan areas.

Our 1915 Prairie-style house had one small bathroom that had suffered a bad DIY remodeling several decades ago and had developed a leak into the kitchen ceiling below. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul, including new plumbing and wiring, as well opening a window that had been partially covered in the previous remodel. Other areas that needed substantial repair included a water closet with a single toilet on the basement landing, tiling in the kitchen, a microwave installation, ceiling cracks in the living room and dining room, chipped wall paint in hallways, the aforementioned kitchen ceiling leak, and replacement of outdated wiring and plumbing in the basement. It was a sprawling remodel-and-repair job. JDL came highly recommended and did not disappoint. They patiently spent a lot of time with us up front on the overall design of the project, from the attic to the basement. They laid out the cost of the project, including options, in great detail. The price wasn't cheap, but it was fair, and we feel we got more than our money's worth. These folks are professionals. Once JDL started the actual work, we were impressed with the overall project management, the exacting craftsmanship of both their own employees and the subcontractors, and the way they treated our house as respectfully as they would have treated their own. They cleaned up after themselves every single day, communicated about their progress regularly and made all significant decisions in consultation with us. The result is a bright, modern bathroom that nevertheless blends in perfectly with the 1915 style of the house.

We hired JDL to first finish out an empty 1100 sq ft space above our detached garage. That project gave us the confidence to tackle the 3500 sq ft main house, which was a down-to-the-studs remodel of a 1969 split level. The project included vaulting the ceiling, new siding, all new electrical, plumbing, etc. Jeff was always attention to our needs and Jake was an excellent design partner as we worked out the details of the project. The quality of the work from JDL contractors and subcontractors was great. Like any project, we had a few hiccups along the way but everyone was easy to work with and resolved the issues quickly. In several cases, JDL noticed quality issues proactively and took action,. The most impressive example being a complete teardown and redo of the new entryway cedar siding because it simply didn't meet their own quality expectations. The result is stunning and massively better. We love our new house and recommend JDL to anyone looking to do a remodel.

We worked with JDL Development on our complete home renovation. We could not be happier with the team. We were consistently impressed by the attention to detail and communication. Everyone in the team including Marc (project estimator) were responsive to questions. Our Superintendent, Bill, was beyond awesome. He got things done (which was important) and listened to our questions. Auxiliary staff, like Dave (carpenter) and Keith (truck driver), and almost every subcontractors were personable and work diligently to get final touches done. JDL Development was a delight to work with and performed high quality work. They worked with us and our Architect to help us renovate a 1964 mid-century home.
