Josh did a really nice job on our kitchen remodel. He worked with us to make a design that we loved, and stayed in budget. There were some small areas that could have been a little better in terms of quality of finish, but overall we were quite happy.

From ideation to completion, Josh and his team were professional, trustworthy, prompt, good listeners, and payed attention to the details. They worked on the interior and exterior of my home while we were living in the house. My family always felt comfortable around them, and they were very kind to our children and pets. We cannot say enough good things about Josh and his two core workers. The process was easy; he is a master at conceptualizing a space, and has the right relationships with the necessary vendors. He is honest, and was timely, and on budget with our kitchen/dining room renovation, and flooring installation. Josh was very responsive with the final "punch list" of small corrections that are part of every project. He showed up on schedule, and was very good communicating by text, phone, and email. His crew was tidy, and took care of the construction mess as part of the contract. Our condo got a much needed facelift, and it has received many compliments.

Josh Design Build did a fantastic job! Replaced my old single pane windows with new vinyl windows and solid wood trim. Guo provided a clear breakdown of the estimate and we discussed all items to discuss any changes. He gave me a very reasonable quote and was specific about each line item. His team was on time, respectful and neat, and thorough with their work. The quality of work was top-notch. All windows were sealed properly. Work was sequenced such that the outside was completed first, then trimmed inside or dry-walled as needed, then painted. Painting was done carefully to avoid any drips on the walls or paint on the windows. During the project I requested adding on replacing a sliding patio door, which was no issue. I preferred white stone for my kitchen windowsill and Guo went above and beyond to find the perfect piece. They hauled away all the demoed windows and trim. Appreciate their quality workmanship, professionalism, and helpful attitude. Would recommend Josh Design Build to anyone looking for quality workmanship.

We could not be more happy with Josh and his crew (Paul, Deng, and Ming). They were able to pass significant savings on to us by keeping their own overhead and costs down. Since they use mostly high end off the shelf materials they may not be the right match if your looking for lots of custom work. The upside to this approach is lower cost due to high product availability, excellent quality name brands, and ease of maintenance and replacement as needed. Josh also keeps things simple. He has determined through experience the best choices per category (cabinets, bathroom, flooring, etc.) and presents them to you in your home. You can just pick from a small list rather than spending months doing research, running around in stores, and potentially getting it wrong which can be a huge relief--especially if you are working full-time. He will then write up a quote efficiently and timely which he commits to. As the project unfolds and you want to add or subtract, Josh makes adjustments easily and fairly. Josh is extremely responsive always picking up his phone or getting back to you quickly. He and his team works hard to keep on schedule starting and finishing as soon as possible. They move quickly while maintaining quality and outstanding outcomes which brings me to his crew. Simple put, each of them are incredibly hardworking, highly talented, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and humble professionals. They show up early and work late 6 days a week. We consider them friends. They are obsessed with getting things right and will work tirelessly without complaining to make sure you are satisfied. We were living in our our house during the renovations which is always tough especially since we did kitchen, bathrooms and floors. They are very accommodating and respectful. They move from room to room helping to move items as needed and you just work through it. It went as smooth as it could have finishing in a couple of months.

Josh Guo is an honest man. When he says he's going to do something, he does it. He's straight up and fair about changes that occur during the job, and he reviews cost changes (if any) with you in detail. Josh Guo is an excellent designer. He has good ideas, and he listens to your ideas as he plans. His work looks great when it's finished, and he has a fantastic eye for color and texture. Josh Guo hires good people and brings only the best into your home. His tile guy for our job was unparalleled. The electrician saved us some money, and the plumbing guy was so fast it was hard to believe. Josh Guo and his team gave us a new home. It's a great place to hang in, and w can be proud to have friends over when this pandemic is over.

Needing to update our 35-year-old home, we began talking with a few contractors but didn't feel comfortable with any of the proposals. When we met Josh, however, we realized that his business was the right size for the scope of our project, which was to renovate our kitchen and two bathrooms plus other updates. Josh's redesign ideas also aligned well with our vision and he even came up with solutions that had not occurred to us. Josh's excellent communication and management of the project kept everything on track. As everyone else notes in their reviews, his crew was talented and hard-working. They worked 6 days a week and finished earlier than promised, and the workmanship was amazing. Josh also kept to the budget and when we asked for change orders, he was upfront about additional cost or the required amount of work. Bottom line, all of them -- Josh, Ken, Ming, and Deng -- were easy to work with and they did an excellent job. Josh has also been great with follow-up work, as we've asked him about a few minor items. We highly recommend Josh and his team!

I sent an email to Josh on a Friday and within 3 hours, he responded back to me. He came to our house on Saturday, the next day and provided a proposal at our meeting for the small job we wanted done. I was very impressed at his courteous, attentive and professional manner, always extending quick responses to any questions or concerns. I was able to select the countertop, cabinetry and hardware from top grade materials that Josh recommended. I trusted and respected his advice and honesty. We did not get this type of service from several other larger contracting firms, who wouldn't even return our calls. Despite the statewide shut down, Josh and his carpenter, Ken completed the work in two weeks! Weeks later when I found one cabinet door with a different finish than the others, Josh was quick to replace the door within a few days. We are very happy to have found a contractor that I would highly recommend to any homeowner who is considering remodeling their home.

We just completed our extensive remodeling of our beloved Kailua home that we’ve lived in for 30 years. We are absolutely thrilled with the work of Josh and his crew at Josh Design Build. We are Oahu realtors and own our own real estate company with over 40 years experience in Hawaii real estate. We know all the contractors. But we turned to Josh for help after seeing the impressive remodeling his company did for one of our clients in Kailua. One of Josh’s strengths is he (Guo Chen) has great design sense. He selected the flooring material (color) after I had told him what type of floor. My daughter flew in to help me with the final selection, she has expertise in design. She ended up choosing the exact same pattern of floor as Josh did. It turns out that Josh’s selection of flooring was one of those “hit it out of the ballpark, grand slam home run” success stories as the flooring is simply spectacular. His crew installed it expertly; it was their 11th installation of similar floor. When it came to choosing white shaker cabinets, Josh took us to three places to look. Our cabinets are mid price range, but look so great that when people see the house, including a top interior designer, the first thing they say is “we love your cabinets!” Josh designed the layout of the kitchen cabinets and drawers and it’s proving to be perfect for flow and function. At Josh’s recommendation, we moved our water heater out of the kitchen and gained additional pantry and storage space. When it came to the quartz countertops, I changed my mind three times! Josh was most patient with me and worked out the final selection, which I am very happy with, a day before installation with no problem. Josh’s crew is hard working, often on the job on Saturdays. We did not move out of our house during construction and they were easy to be with. Paul is a stand out! He can figure anything out. The quality of their work is excellent from the custom baseboards to the window installation to taking the kitchen cabinets all the way to the ceiling with moldings. When we ran into a question or concern and contacted Josh, he answered immediately, and would get to our house and the issue within 24 hours. The renovation process we had dreaded turned out to be most pleasant and even fun. In the middle of our house remodel, we decided to renovate a small townhouse and the crew jumped right on that, again with smart decisions on materials and quick execution. When we put the townhouse up for sale, we received multiple offers and it sold for $10,000 over asking! I had to smile remembering Josh urging me to use quartz, not granite for the kitchen and baths. It made a huge difference. Josh has depth of experience and good common sense for value. I felt he was trying to help us save money and watched over our budget like it was his own money. We are extremely pleased with the results of our home remodeling and heartily recommend Josh Design Build.

We hired Josh to renovate our bathrooms. Josh was very easy to work with and was very responsive to our questions and requests. He took the time to get a feel for what our tastes were like by personally taking us to various showrooms to view their products. Thereafter, he did the running around to get the materials which made the renovations relatively stress free. We WISH he was our general contractor when we first built our house. There were a couple adjustments that needed to be made as the work progressed to correct the mistakes made by our original builder and Josh and his workers came up with solutions we were satisfied with. That being said, we are very happy with the work that was done. Josh's workers are good workers. In fact, the guy he had doing our tile work was just excellent! If we were the BBB, we would give them an A++!

Josh and his crew did an awesome job on my renovation of a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Very respectful and honest team. Josh’s team is a small group of master craftsmen. Josh made honest recommendations based on his industry expertise. His price was very reasonable and affordable. A high rise project always presents unique challenges, but Josh made it seem easy. I highly recommend Josh for any job, big or small.

Josh was very thorough on explaining what he was going to do. Very reasonable in pricing, although I did have to buy a few doors and a screen which wasn’t too bad. His brother paul is a very good carpenter, making our cabinets ready for Branson Stoneworks granite a easy transition. They worked 6 days a week, and worked to 4:30 or later everyday.

Our ideas to renovate our living, kitchen and bathroom areas were discussed, improved on and competently executed in record time with minimum disruption . Amazingly also within an already reasonable budget!

With his background as a certified kitchen and bath specialist Josh guided our project letting us choose the cabinets and flooring in the kitchen with samples that would be the perfect look for our house. Never pushy and alway accommodating. He always responded quickly to my emails and text messages. When something didn't look right to him, he would make recommendations and let us decide the course. He is so easy to work with and his employees are very trustworthy. I had no issues with leaving the house open and not being home. He and his crews are honest and they work hard.. I plan to work with Josh with future renovations for my home.

The work was done in the time frame, when last minute changes had to be made Josh came out and explained them. We were kept informed and questions were answered. The kitchen looks great, I trusted Josh on some of the material decisions and I'm glad I did, but when I really wanted a drawer in a certain place he made that happen. The end result was worth it all.

We decided to hire Josh for our daughter's bathroom since he gave us the lowest quotation than any other companies. We are very happy that we chose him. He always gave us quick responses to our calls, texts and emails and was punctual and those are very rare in this town. As being a former interior designer, I had very high expectations and requirements but he always tried to meet those and willing to try and learn new things. Most importantly, he delivered a beautiful bathroom as he promised.

The service and the workmanship was great. Josh was on top of his commitment and installation was competed on schedule. they took their time to install the countertop and the flooring and made sure our appliances were reinstalled with care. I'm very pleased with the work that was done on my house.

We can count on him to be truthful and honest. He is all about creating value in the home. 2 - Ability to Stay Customer Focused: His focus is on what you want, the budget you have to work with, how the renovation will be used, up to date styles, and service. Josh took time out of his day to come with us and help us to select the counter top, cabinets, and flooring. He never pushed his agenda rather he would wait until we finished our discussion and asked for his opinion. 3 - Ability to Perform Quality Work: He's got a good crew working for him and their expertise shows in the quality of the products that they make. Because we are human, we sometimes make small mistakes. When we point out these issues, Josh is quick to make it right even if it means he has to do it himself. He aims to please and will not stop until we are happy with the products and the issue is resolved. 4 - Ability to Meet Deadlines: Every renovation has a timetable. This is the second renovation with Josh. Our first was our home (renovated the kitchen, two bathrooms, painted the inside of the whole house, and replaced flooring). We were so impressed with his expertise and his crew that we hired him again to do the renovation of our single family rental home. Both projects finished on the day and date he said he would be done by. 5 - Ability to Meet Budget: Both of the renovations we had Josh do for us, completed within the estimate provided.. 6 - Expertise (knowledge) / Professionalism: Josh comes with a wide range of completed projects. Just take a look at all the pictures he has of completed jobs. If you don't have an idea of what you want done in an area of the house, Josh can show you some of the things he's done and be able to recommend some suggestions based on your likes. Although always the professional in his conduct, getting back to you right away or at the very least letting you know when he will get back to you, keeping us up to date on project status and problem resolution, and resolving issues quickly. He is also family oriented. We got to meet and enjoy his lovely wife and two children.

Josh and his team did a total remodel of my master bath. From design to build, every detail was amazing. His crew was professional and I never had to worry about them in my home. Having had other work crews in the past, that is not always the case. Josh kept me informed at every aspect of the project. He worked with me at each stage and the end product is just incredible. The job was done on time and only 5% over budget. If you are not in to overseeing every detail, Josh made excellent choices. I liked them all.

Josh and his team helped us with a complete redesign in one bathroom, a the new build of both a second bathroom and a laundry room. We also redesigned one of our children's rooms and added an additional linen closet. The changes have made for a much more efficient use of space in our home. It works well for our growing family of five. The crew was timely and efficient. The project started and finished on time and we love the finished product!

We recently had our Kitchen remodeled by Josh Design Build and couldn’t be more pleased. All aspects of our experience with Josh Design Build were superior from our initial meeting to project completion. They provided excellent service by being extremely neat, staying within budget and by providing excellent workmanship. I had Josh Design Build update my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and counter tops. He worked quickly and demolition was done in a couple of days. Cabinets were installed in a few days and counter tops were fitted and custom made thereafter. Appearance is modern with lighter color doors. Counters were selected by us and matched overall style. I had other remodeling done at same time like painting but was able to coordinate with Josh so little disruption of either project. His suggestions made the kitchen complete. He reused a newer kitchen faucet and disposal. We have a large single sink which makes dish washing convenient. His microwave vent streamlined the usage which he installed for us. The bathroom vanity followed similar theme as kitchen. It looks like a new house and we're completely pleased with result.
