The renovation was completed without a single defect, a testament to their commitment to quality and my satisfaction. This company is a great example of team work and they stayed on budget and delivered the contractual scope of work in the time frame estimated.

I had a major remodel/rebuild of a mid century house in Mission Bay San Diego. We are talking down to studs and nearly doubling sq footage. The project lasted approximately 12 months. This was my first major project. This company is second generation and very committed to the local community. The owner has a very practical experienced approach, sprinkled with creative insight. He has an excellent relationship with his subs and the building supervisor is phenomenal. I knew exactly where I was financially and there was never any miscommunication. Seriously if you’re considering a major home project you should consider K-CO.

If you're looking to do a big remodel look no further! K-CO accomplished a great feat by doubling the size of my house in @6 months. From start to finish, the process was seamless and smooth. K-CO was responsive and reliable, answering questions quickly, following a detailed schedule, and overall providing exceptional service. Upon completion, they were great with follow-up and helping us with anything that came up. We've all heard the saying you get what you pay for! In this case, from permits to production to completion it's more than worth it!

This is long… The short story is YES, K-Co Construction is great and will build you the best house. After going to Del Mar home show and interviewing 4 contractors, and then interviewing 5 at our south-west (Clairemont Village) home, we chose KCo-Construction. Yes… That’s me. I need to talk with everyone, have my questions ready and am very choosy. And to make it more challenging, you hear so many bad contractor stories. Our neighbor hired a guy who left ¾ the way through. Can you imagine? The point is, I am very picky and even then… Ya just don’t know…. We made the best decision choosing Chad Gardener and KCo. And like us, you are now looking. I could write a story as to how well this went but will try and keep it short. We have built a residential home and a commercial space and have a medium good idea as to what we need in a contractor. For me, communication, competency and integrity are very important. Through this whole project, KCo maintained the most professional, communication, work ethic, integrity, capability that I could ever imagine coming from a construction company. We did a complete remodel. We switched the kitchen to the back of the house, added a master bedroom wing with a master bathroom and master closet. We added a garage, made 2 beautiful bathrooms. We literally designed the house and KCo refined it, and built it to our specs. The relationship first starts with Chad, the owner of the company. Chad has been in construction most his life as KCo is a family business. One thing very cool about this and KCo, is that they are very community and family oriented, supporting many events in the Clairemont community (and that made a difference for us). They live here and support here. Which is another interesting thing about KCo, is they don’t take projects to far from here. What this means is when something goes funky, (as will happen in construction), the project manager is very close to deal with it. This happened several times and BOOM, he was there to manage it. You don’t have to wait. Chad knows construction. I appreciated the way he looked at our house and talked us through what needed to be done. He worked with us on our design and his guidance was invaluable. Once we had our drawings and we agreed on the price (which was fair and reasonable), we met our project manager Brian Beagle. I cannot say enough how great Brian has been. I think one of the most important things a PM needs to be able to do, is manage the client. We asked a lot of questions and were on site almost every single day. He managed us well. He managed his subs well. I am speechless to how well he understands construction, the process and the little details that I would have missed. One of the coolest things is we felt he always had our back and wanted us to have what we wanted. And when something was off, or the price not right, or we were going over budget, he was able to offer alternatives and catch us before we went off the track. Brian is amazing. He was also very fun to hang out with as the house was being built. Their internal team, David, Trevor and Nick are also great, ethical and professional. We have now been in our house over 2 months. We love our house. It came out GREAT. What I am most impressed by is the level of construction. As I said, we have had a couple builds and have some idea as to what we are looking for. This house is solid. As you look around town at the houses KCo is building, you will notice this. The design, construction and livability. And they have been building some very cool houses. They really are the best and our experience was awesome. My wife is happy and was comfortable working with them. We highly recommend them. PS…. One more thing… Our house was being completed during the time of CornaVirus. They were a month away from completion when the shut down orders started coming. We were living in an apartment and I am immune-compromised. I felt we needed to get home to feel safe. KCo busted their butts to get the house ready a month early so we could move in before we would not be able to. That is dedication to your client. I cannot say enough good about these guys.

We interviewed 4 contractors before hiring K-Co for our almost complete tear-down and addition. Previously, we had worked with 5 different contractors on various homes that we have owned. Some were good, some were ok, and one was bad. None of the good ones came close to the quality and integrity of K-Co. We originally chose K-Co because they were local, had great reviews, an impeccable BBB rating, and good references. Some of the other contractors we talked with had fancier websites and extremely polished sales pitches. We could have gone with one of them. I am so glad we chose K-Co instead. From start to finish, I never worried about our project being in Chad and Brian’s hands. Chad (the owner) was always very responsive, sometimes emailing me back practically the moment I sent my question. He worked very hard to make sure our extensive house remodel and addition was progressing through the design and permit process and even went to the city himself when fire review held us up. He was very conscious of our budget and timelines since we were living elsewhere while the work was being done. When the construction was underway and handed over to the foreman, Brian, we continued to have an excellent experience. As with any construction project, unexpected issues came up. Throughout it all, Brian kept us informed, went through our options, and continued to make sure the project was progressing even when one aspect would get held up. We always felt completely comfortable asking questions no matter how minor, and Brian would always give detailed responses so we knew exactly what was going on. My husband and I are both very detail oriented (my husband re-created our entire house with each stud location, electric line, pipe placement, etc. in sketch-up) and we’re glad K-Co was as well. While our project grew larger than we originally expected which pushed back the completion date, they finished three days earlier than they projected once the total scope of the project was known. Now that we’ve moved in, we can relax and enjoy our beautiful home knowing that everything was done right. Thank you, Chad, Brian, and Renee (wonderful office staff!) and everyone who worked with K-Co on our project.

K-Co just finished a complete remodel of our kitchen and living area in our Clairemont Mesa home. We had been wanting to remodel our kitchen for years, and had many different contractors come and bid the job. Thankfully we ended up choosing K-Co. Chad, and then Juan or project manager were the best. Having done many remodel projects in the past, I cannot praise Chad and Juan enough for under promising and completely over delivering! Every cost, deadline, and expectation was exceeded by the K-Co team. Their concern for our home, and our comfort in it during all phases of remodel was exceptional. Any future jobs I have, I will just go straight to K-Co, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I could not have had a better remodeling experience than I did with Chad, Juan and their team at K-Co. As a first timer when it comes to major house upgrades, I had lots of trepidation and was not sure what to expect. Thankfully, Chad and Juan made the process seamless. The schedule was always clear and planned in advance, and any necessary changes only made after discussion and approval. While it was definitely difficult to live in one bedroom and the garage for weeks, their openness and guidance made it easier because expectations were properly set. Most importantly, the work they did was fantastic! My entire kitchen and downstairs were transformed, with every detail carefully executed. I was well supported when it came to choosing appliances, counters, fixtures and extras, and blown away by the final product. Even better, Juan has continued to follow up after completion to take care of any and all punch list items, including things that developed after K-Co was done! I was overwhelmed by K-Co’s professionalism and performance, and would heartily recommend them to everyone (as I already have to multiple friends)!

My family was very happy with the overall construction. Very pretty. Easy to work with and answered all our questions in a timely manner.

We had a full-house remodel done last year - down to the studs and rebuild plus a master bedroom suite addition. Chad was excellent at guiding us through our choices and listened to what we wanted done. He and his Project Manager Brian were always available when we called/e-mailed/texted and kept us up to date on everything that was being done. The estimated timeline was 7-9 months, but they finished it in only 6 - even with all of the rain we had in early 2017! Highly recommended!

Chad was key to the development of the concept along with a realistic budget. Brian, our project manager, was a straight shooter and kept us informed throughout the project. Brian was key to developing realistic solutions to the challenges we faced as we expanded the project. We will hire these guys again for our next project.
