KJID is a multifaceted luxury boutique firm specializing in both residential and commercial projects. Katharine Posillico McGowan, the firm's principal, oversees the planning of each project from the start of construction through the finished product.
Katharine and her team establish and maintain direct client relationships throughout the entire project, listening to the needs and vision of the clients. The result is a unique design that reflects each clients individuality and taste.
Katharine's attention to detail, ability to mix finishes and materials, has led to the creation elegant spaces that are functional and stylish for a variety of projects throughout the tri-state area.
Katharine has been involved in the design world for over 20 years. After graduating from Lehigh University, Katharine began her career as a fashion buyer, then a product designer, developing her keen eye for unique style and function. From there she studied at the New York School of Interior Design, there after she launched her own design firm, Katharine Jessica Interior Design in 2003. Her work is featured in many regional and national publications including New York Spaces magazine where she was recognized as one of the "10 New Designers Under 40 to Watch". Katharine has also been featured in multiple Mansions & Millionaires Designer Showcases and received the "Notable Designer," award of 2008 from Distinction magazine.
She was also recently featured in a Newsday article on All-Star Interior Designers.
