Our entire experience with Koncept Design was fantastic! Ken is committed to building a top company that provides premier service, creative designs, and top quality craftsmanship within our budget. Their team is equally as committed and made our experience better than we had even hoped for a large addition/renovation project. From the initial design to the final punch list item, we were continually impressed with the quality. It’s the little details that make a difference! For example, we had contemplated various architect’s designs over the years, but Ken’s team is the first to truly create a design that worked with the neighborhood, our needs, our desire for something special, and finally something within budget! Some of his team are full-time employees, and some are subs. All were excellent in their trade! We had to adjust a few brick walls and openings. His team matched the mortar perfectly - hard to do with 100 year old brick! And, their interior trim guy... I am still admiring the beautiful trim around the doors and windows! Their Foreman, Paul, had solid control over the project from the beginning and was always there to help us with questions. As you select a company to partner with you on your home renovation journey, you will need to find someone you can trust. Ken has an amazing personality that allowed us to easily get on board with trusting him and his team with our once in a lifetime renovation. He did not disappoint and we love the results!

Ken and the team at Koncept did an amazing job with our massive renovation. They helped turn our tiny Cape Cod into a home that we can live in for the next 20 years. From sketches to plans to permits to framing and finishing, we could not have been any happier with how our project turned out. His entire team was professonal, responsive, knowledagable, and fiscally responsible. Ken also recommend great vendors for us to work with on flooring, and kitchen design which were 2 of the most important things to us. We are not HGTV people, so we were really starting from scratch on most of the design aspect. It was great to work with people who were prepared to patiently answer all of our questions and get us on a good path. Our project came in on budget and on time and we have already recommended Koncept to friends and neighbors.

Going into a design and build project on your home can feel overwhelming. We knew we loved our house and location - the guts of it were great but we needed more space and modern finishes along certain aspects to make it our forever home. Ken was first among the d+B companies we found on Houzz to reach out, to answer questions, to come by and gives us a genuine and honest perspective. He was also the one who 'listened best' to what we were looking for and added his valued input after hearing us out. We chose Koncept after meeting with three firms in total, mostly because of how easy it was to communicate with Ken and the ideas he brought forth. After a 6 month project where we temporarily moved out completely - we have nothing but the best of things to say about how Koncept executed everything for us. From Ken himself to the architect Pat, to the PM Paul and the rest of the team including Roberto. They were always available during the 6 months for us to talk to, text with, ask questions of. They scheduled periodic meetings with us and walked us through portions of what was going on. There were no surprises and the level of communication was amazing. One other thing that I didn't expect - through Koncept we met with designers for our kitchen and bathroom upgrades that gave us incredible ideas and elevated our own style to the next level. Though portions of this process seem overwhelming because you never know what things will look like in the end - I am thankful to the whole team that made the house so beautiful and just what we had been hoping for all along. Every room feels refreshed and like it's ours. We are so happy to be home and thank Ken, Paul and the entire Koncept team for making it REAL. You guys are great!!

After reaching out to several potential contractors, I chose Koncept Design + Build because Ken was able to articulate a design and process both affordably and quickly. Ken and his team at Koncept Design + Build were amazing. My wife and I wanted to make our single family home built in 1937 a modern farmhouse in Arlington, VA. He and Patrick (His designer) gave us designs that blew us away. Ken's process was easy to understand for first-time renovators. He made us comfortable through the entire project and managed (Paul, his project manager) everything so my wife at the time who was pregnant didn't have to worry or stress. His team always communicated with us on progress and the plan ahead on a weekly basis. Made things right when there were issues and was flexible with us. Ken as the owner would also frequently visit the project site which is key (ensures his vision is implemented). Ken updated our home and gave us a remodeled master bath we always wanted. We also ended up doing a 2nd project with him to add a screen porched that is almost done. Would recommend Koncept Design + Build to anyone and will reuse again for any further project that we endeavor on.

We hired Koncept Design + Build to do a full home remodel and 3rd level addition. Due to our scope of work, the entire process beginning with the architectural design phase, took just over a year to complete. Ken Marzullo was consistent with the completion date the entire time, which is nearly unheard of with builders. I am a very detail oriented person and I really appreciated how much care Ken took in making sure nothing was missed or brushed over. He is extremely honest and upfront about everything from cost to extent of work and how long it should take to complete. During the first month or 2 of work, my husband and I found out we were expecting our second child which made timing tight with moving back into our home. Ken and Paul, his Project Manager, were amazing in trying to get us back in before baby arrived. I interviewed at least 10 different companies (from design build to architects and contractors separately, etc), but there hasn’t been a day throughout this process that my husband and I haven’t been very thankful that we chose Ken with Koncept Design + Build. His pricing is mid to high range and you get what you pay for from impeccable quality and attention to detail to Ken being easy to work with, honest and trustworthy. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

Bottom line, we are extremely pleased with how our renovation turned out. I was looking for someone to manage this project from start to finish and Ken did just that. Ken was very helpful in understanding how best to get everything that we wanted out of our budget, while also helping us realize what tasks would yield the best return on our investment. Ken's design process was extremely thorough and the fact that he is also a certified architect allowed us to have confidence in the design that we ended up selecting. Once construction got underway we were impressed by the quality of the craftsmen that Ken brought to the project. We were concerned about quality and Ken did not disappoint. Ken's attention to detail is what everyone should want in a contractor. Of course, there were change requests and Ken managed those with ease. Even our "outside the box" request to heat the shower bench to match the headed bathroom floors was accommodated.
