LD&A

LD&A was brought to our attention by a neighbour who had recently completed a kitchen renovation with LD&A and had a very positive experience with them. Our 5-month long kitchen/main floor renovation experience was similar. From our very first meeting with Neil, to design and concept work with Lindsey, to the actual construction under the oversight of Darrel and our site-supervisor/carpenter Tyler, we felt we were dealing with people who genuinely cared about this project, were proud of the work they do, adhered to high standards, and made sure all our needs and concerns were addressed both during construction and after completion. The attention to our needs was prompt and always resulted in satisfactory solutions. The only bumps in the project related to the painters (sub-contracted by LD&A). Some of the paint crew lacked professionalism, attention to detail, and were not considerate that we were living in the construction space. While LD&A was very good at resolving issues, some of the issues should not have occurred in the first place. We were told the painting company was unusually stretched by the high demands in the construction industry and, thus, were working with some new (and obviously less trained) team members. Despite this hiccup, all painting requirements were eventually completed to LD&A's consistently high standards and our high expectations. We highly recommend LD&A, and would hire them again in a heartbeat for any future construction or design projects.

I hired LD & A to spruce my house up and get it ready to sell. From exterior painting, facia repairs and replacing, ceiling texturizing and interior painting I couldn’t be happier. Everything went smoothly and on time. Thank you Neil and your team!

We have hired LD&A twice for projects in our home. The first was a bathroom reno in our 1912 home. Everyone we worked with from design and project management to construction and sub-trades were experts, personable and had the utmost care for our project and our home. We had them back to complete a full basement reno/finishing for our old home which had lots of challenges given the age of our home and layers of "Mr Fixit" over a century to contend with and cleanup. They were never afraid to tackle the issues and ensure our home was beautiful but also safe and have the best construction behind the walls. There has been attention to every detail and the restult is a beautiful, bright, and functional space we spend lots of time in. We are converted basement dwellers who never thought we'd use our basement beyond a "kids area".

This was our second renovation with LD&A. Once for a bathroom and the most recent was a full kitchen reno. Both times we were impressed at how professional the team was from start to finish.They laid out the process and communicated with us every step of the way. If we hit a bump in the road the team was always quick to come up with alternatives that would work within our taste and budget. At one point a fuse went in our electrical panel and we were in for a long cold night with young kids when the furnace went out. We contacted the team and they had their electrician in to fix it within the hour. Every member of the LD&A team were approachable, knowledgable and friendly. The crew was on time and the worksite was always clean at the end of the day which was important to us having young kids at home. LD&A pride themselves in what they do and it shows in their workmanship. From the high quality tradespeople they employ, to the email at the end of the project to ensure everything is up to our liking. We now have a beautiful kitchen that is everything we wanted and more.

This is our second extensive renovation with LD&A. It was once again a pleasure to work with the entire team. From design to construction and completion, our project was executed perfectly. The design team was creative and innovative. They payed attention to our ideas and came up with both a beautiful and functional space. They were patient and always available to us. We couldn’t be happier with the design and appreciate the effort that went into it. The construction team was a pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail and unwillingness to compromise quality or take shortcuts ensure every corner of our home is perfect. In addition, they maintain a tidy work site at all time. They are genuinely kind people who took the time to chat with our kids and say hello to our dog. Their communication skills are superb and we were kept informed throughout the project. The design and construction team work seamlessly together to ensure project is executed correctly. We would highly recommend LD&A and would use again... although they have pretty much done our whole house already!

This was our second project with Lynn Donaldson, the first was over 20 years ago. When we decided to renovate, there was no question that we would call Lynn again. Once again, we were totally impressed by LD&A's professional approach starting with the initial walk through to the final touches. Every detail was addressed up front, and every deficiency was corrected by the end of the project. Their concepts for design were thoughtful and always kept our needs in mind. LD&A crew showed up on time when scheduled. Because of the length of our project and the fact that we lived in our house through the project, Sean became like a member of the family. We found Sean to be an excellent craftsman, thoughtful to our needs, as well as efficient & tidy. The trades that were hired by LD&A are the best in their areas of expertise. LD&A's guidance through design and construction with practical solutions, the use of quality products, the supervision and excellent craftsmanship, provided us with a home that is comfortable, beautiful and was designed just for us. We would highly recommend LD&A for any project.

This is her second time using LD&A and we were thrilled with the results of this project. As always LD&A listened to our requests, concerns and answered any questions we had during the project stages. All the contractors that they used were professional, courteous and respected our home. I highly recommend LD&A and I will be calling them back for our next renovation in the future.

LD&A built out a 6000 sf medical clinic for us at Innovative Sport Medicine. It was a complex renovation in an old building with lots of building restrictions. They handled all of the challenges and our clinic is absolutely beautiful, better than I could have imagined. They have a high attention to detail, came in right on budget, right on schedule, with timely communication. They have a really friendly team - everyone in design, trades, and their accounting department. I highly recommend LD&A for any residential or commercial project you may have. Neil and Darryl are the best!

Since the first project we worked on together, I've been very impressed with their designs, knowledge, organization, and their other sub-trades. They are detailed oriented professionals with high regard for clients satisfaction.

Extensive kitchen and main floor renovation - completed on-time and under the budget estimate. From start-to-finish, a textbook case of how a home renovation should go. Project Manager and on-site Supervisor were accessible, knowledgeable, understanding, and pro-active. The trades they hired were excellent - workmanship was first-rate, particularly the carpentry. Small "hiccups" during the process were dealt with quickly and professionally.. Would I use LD&A again? In a heartbeat. Would I recommend them? Absolutely.
