Very good product - one of the advantages about buying a kit home is that the bugs have already been ironed out (rather that an architect making mistakes on your dime) as evidenced by the fact that we got through planning consent in three days. The pre-sales care is excellent, but the post-sales customer service was very variable, sometimes good but sometimes frustrating for both me and my builder. Make sure you involve your builder in the pre-sales meetings, and take very good care over the choice of products such as windows, doors, sidings and roofing,

I did a lot of research on design and build firms. I decided on Linwood Custom Homes due to their entire design, materials, support and build process. I am very happy with the entire process. Spending he quality time, not being rushed on the Design - modifying the design to suite our needs and not a designer ideas. The materials used where 1st rate - the lumber quality could not be matched locally. My carpenters could not believe how straight the lumber was and how little waste we had. The project was not with out a few glitches, but Linwood was there to fix them and provided what ever support we needed, either in the design/engineering or in understanding the plans. You will receive some incredibly detailed drawings and any support you may need - only a phone call away. We now have a finished product that is very unusual to my area, but built very well of the highest quality materials and one of the most talked about houses in the area. I would highly recommend them and their process. I do think having the right designer, a person who listens to your needs, is experienced in the building process as well as Linwood's process is essential at being completely satisfied. And lastly, making sure you have the right builder, if you can not find a Linwood Dealer/Builder in your area, then finding a builder who is flexible, open minded and can be a problem solver. At the end of the day, you are the customer and demand nothing less than perfection.

My wife and invested approximately $170,000 with Linwood Homes to build our new home in Michigan. They were great to work with BEFORE the sale, but have been VERY disappointing after the sale. Most recently, they have shown us no respect as clients as we have worked to settle over $12,000 in additional costs, for which we believe they are responsible. In our opinion, expect little service and respect after the sale. We would not recommend Linwood Homes to anyone.

My husband and I built a cottage in Ontario with Linwood 20 years ago. Craig went above and beyond making modifications, combining ideas from various floor plans, and listening to our ideas, all with patience and 100% attention to each and every detail, until we had the plan of our dreams. Linwood packaged everything we needed to make our dream a reality, and Mike and his crew made it happen. We were extremely satisfied with the journey, and the outcome. So much so that 10 years later we approached Craig and Mike about building a home for us in the Yukon. Once again Craig worked with us to create a floor plan, even flying to the Yukon to look at the site so he could provide guidance to best optimize our situation. Linwood's care and attention doesn't end once the package is delivered. Craig and his staff offered assistance to the local carpenters doing the build, and Mike flew to the Yukon to guide them through a more critical stage of the project to ensure everything went well. Once again, we were extremely pleased with the outcome of this second project with Linwood. So logically, when we found ourselves wanting to renovate and add on to the cottage we had originally built with Linwood, who better to turn to than Craig and Mike. Again, awesome experience, outstanding results. After three builds with Linwood I can honestly say that should another build be in our future we would not hesitate for one second to call on Craig and Mike, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to make their dream home a satisfying and uncomplicated reality.

Absolutely no complaints. Designers and Engineers are easy to work with. The cedar and Douglas Fir used in my project is so beautiful. If you choose Linwood Homes you can't go wrong. This was truly an experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend having Linwood Homes design your dream home!

We hired J`Anne to do help us design our interior and she was really helpfull in utilizing every inch of space.We also having permit troubles (BC) and she would help us with time frame for delivery etc and would store it if need be .The whole experiece was professional from the get go purlely positive experience thx Rob

This was our first custom built home and we placed our faith and trust in Linwood to deliver a solid built and well-designed package. Our property has a spectacular view and we were very careful to ensure we built a home that would both complement it and be equally spectacular. It is all we hoped it would be and we are extremely pleased with the results. We purchased our 17 acre property in 2006 and spent several years working over home designs, talking with architects and other home builders. It was a daunting task and each stakeholder had a part of the solution, but no one seemed to be able to offer a complete package. Also during that time we sited the home location, installed the 1000 foot driveway and had the buried electrical services installed. From our first meeting at a Linwood Fall home tour, we felt very comfortable with the Linwood team. The fall home tour was a key element in selecting Linwood to design and supply the package. During the tour we had the opportunity to meet some Linwood home owners, speak with the builders and many of the “circle of tradespeople “Linwood recommends. This gave us the confidence that we could undertake the project and realize our dream of building the right house for us. In addition, we had the opportunity to actually see the Linwood home product during and after construction. The high quality of the Linwood building materials made us confident our money was well placed with Linwood. The final home design was a 4400 square foot post and beam style home with an attached 3 bay garage. Linwood's suggested home builder Mike Parlevliet (Parlevliet Construction) and his crew did a fantastic job of keeping the project on schedule and helped us make some key decisions that arose during construction. Mike and his team were also very accommodating to our requests to make small tweaks on the fly so that we got the best result. A “big” thank you to Craig McFarlane - Linwood Homes, for making us feel we could “do it” and for being there for us at each step of the way, offering ideas and suggestions as the project progressed. That kind of commitment and dedication is a rare thing these days. Linwood and their extended team of recommended builders and sub-contractors helped us create a beautiful home that we are proud of. We’ve been delighted by our many friends and family whose praise and compliments are more than enough testimony that we have created a very fine home. We highly recommend Linwood, and would not hesitate to call them again if we were to build another home.

Excellent company to work with and we had a terrific advisor!! From start to finish we appreciated support from design changes to on going construction advice. At one point, we had a problem with the sub floor material. Linwood (with the assistance of our advisor/designer) immediately took control and rectified the problem WITHOUT HESITATION or additional delay! We are so very impressed with the support and determination to make our project run smoothly to completion and the attention to our satisfaction. There is no other company I would deal with in building a new home!
