Luke & his team did an absolutely gorgeous addition for us just after the birth of our 4th child 2 years ago. They added a new 600 sf master suite to the second floor of our home, along with some much-needed updates to our existing upstairs bathroom and HVAC. Well, we just had our home appraised for a refinance and, despite the fact that we only spent $175,000 on the addition, our home is now worth over $280,000 what we paid for it. I first reached out to Luke a year and a half ago to get an estimate for some odd projects at my house - custom built-ins in the living room and dining room, tile work, reframing a closet, electrical work, painting and a few other odd jobs. I was a bit traumatized from a horrible experience with another contractor but felt great after my first meeting with Luke. After about a year of back and forth design and scope changes, I was finally ready to go. Luke was patient with me through the whole process, was very accessible and was always prompt for meetings. The guys on site each day were also delightful. As with most construction projects, there were a few hiccups, but Luke was quick to resolve any issues. I'm thrilled with how it all came together and wish I hadn't waited so long to start the project.

I highly recommend LS Winston for your building and remodeling needs! I am a kitchen designer and I've worked with Luke and his crew several times. They have been nothing but professional and they do such beautiful work. As a designer, it's important to have an installation crew I can trust. I know that no matter what I throw at them, they'll handle it and they'll make it come to life even better than I imagined. We all know construction projects don't always go as planned. Another wonderful thing about LS Winston is that if you do come across an issue, regardless of who is to blame, they don't sit around and point fingers - they find a solution. I hired Luke last summer to complete a front deck. The deck came out fantastic; however, as the cold came on, things started to shift and there were issues with the deck facade. Luke agreed to come back to correct the issue once the weather warmed up. As promised, he came back, replaced the deck façade, and corrected the issue. I will definitely call Luke for future work.

I spoke to 7 companies. Received 3 quotes and chose Luke Winston. He was extremely knowledgeable about all building issues and was very competitive. Luke Winston - LS Winston Building Co. is the best general contractor I've ever worked with and I've worked with a lot of them over the past 20 + years If you are looking for a good and professional contractor, Luke is your man. There was no BS, he adhered to the contract, made knowledgeable recommendations during the planning phase and once the project was underway, his employees and trade contractors are professional. They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. Our project included: Design of kitchen and master suite remodels as well as front entry remodeling. Kitchen remodel, new master suite with bath and closet, removing a load bearing wall to create a great room (kitchen, living room & dining room), 3 bathroom remodels, new HVAC and new duct work, tile installation on entire grade level floor, replacing tile in kitchen with hardwood, painting inside and out, plaster work, new roof, new front entryway, spray foam insulation, sound insulation, electrical upgrades, plumbing upgrades, new widows, doors and garage doors. And much more. Of great importance to me as a consumer, Luke made recommendations such as moving an electric sub panel from the attic to the basement as well as provided design recommendations. As promised the work started early March and we were able to move in early June. It was a challenging schedule but Luke's team did what ever it took to get the job done. Luke is a n excellent contractor - to me that means the quality of the work is good, it's done on time - as promised, the work is done by professionals, and per the contract. I posted a few of the before and after photos, but there was so much more.

We hired LS Winston to create custom built ins, a new fireplace surround, and install two piece crown mounding around our entire open concept living room and kitchen. From my first meeting with Luke, I knew he was the contractor for me. Luke has an amazing eye for design, clearly has passion, and takes great pride in producing the highest quality of work for his customers. Luke gave us a very detailed (and reasonable) quote and design for the built ins shortly after the consultation. The work began quickly thereafter and was completed within the timeline given and on budget. Luke was there everyday to check in and ensure everything was perfect and up to his high standards. He is also very responsive and communicates with you through the entire process. The lead carpenter is extremely skilled and the craftsmanship exceeded all of my expectations. The attention to detail in every aspect of the project was impeccable. The rest of the crew was equally as skilled, were very respectful, and left a clean space everyday. I consider myself a perfectionist and have very high standards and they still exceeded them. The work came out better than I could have ever imagined. The before and after picture does not do it justice. I would highly recommend LS Winston to anyone looking for a high quality contractor for any of their projects. We look forward to hiring them again for future work including a front porch addition and finishing our basement. You won’t be disappointed!

Luke and his guys were the best! We did a total kitchen remodel (down to the studs), added a half bath and a 12x16 family room. Luke had excellent design ideas and suggestions and did beautiful work. I hardly recognize it as the same space! He was available at all times (weekends, evenings) if we needed to contact him with questions. All of the people he works with (who worked on the house) are all polite, friendly and hard working. They completed a major renovation in 3 months! We went slightly over budget but that was by our choice, we put in new windows and new siding. I highly recommend them for any renovation work you need done!

Luke and his team provided exceptional service and skill throughout this collaborative process. Luke was a great partner during the initial planning phase and was able to adapt to changes we requested. He provided a start date and when this was delayed briefly he gave us advanced notice. He kept constant communication with his onsite team and provided clear explanation on expectations. We love the outcome of our new deck! Has modernized our home and the experience was the best we’ve had with a vendor. Highly recommend and will use for future projects!

We hired LSW to do a major renovation to our 120 year old house. The project included a gut renovation of most of the first floor and a second floor bath. They removed walls between kitchen and dining room, relocated a powder room, created a dining room out of a hallway and bedroom, updated a laundry/pantry and converted an attached doctor’s office (unchanged from the 1950’s) into a master suite with a fully accessible bath and walk in closet. The project included all new electricity and plumbing, new interior walls, changes to the exterior to accommodate additional and changed windows, a new entry and deck. The project was a big one for our family – very little updating had been done in many years so all electrical and plumbing had to be replaced. We also remained living in the house for most of the construction period. They did a very good job of sealing off the project from our living space and kept a clean job site. To accommodate our schedule and to make sure we could live in the house throughout the project, Luke completed the total removal and reconfiguration of the second floor bath in 10 day period while we we out of the country. As they were taking apart the old house around us we naturally came up with lots of ideas to expand the project. Luke gave us a fair price and remained aware of our budget constraints helping us find ways to achieve our original goals and some of our new ones while keeping costs under control. The LS Winston team is very creative. Luke’s original vision for the space included taking down walls and raising the ceiling over a small part of the space. When the walls were open, things got more complicated. Ted, the master framer, was able to solve the problems presented and we ended up with a raised ceiling over a large expanse and the open concept kitchen, family room, dining room that we wanted. We found original hardwood beneath layers of other flooring that they painstakingly moved, patched and restored to provide flooring in 4 rooms. Throughout the space woodwork was built to match the original in the oldest part of the house. Marcos, the finish carpenter, is a true craftsman actually carving corner blocks, building new doors for original cabinets and converting an antique dresser to vanity. He built cupboards, hung antique doors and magically made everything fit perfectly in a old house where nothing is square. We feel very lucky to have found LS Winston Building Company. The crew and the subcontractors were responsive, respectful and reliable. From our first conversations it was clear that Luke immediately understood how to design floorplan changes that incorporated modern conveniences without losing the feel of an old familiar house. He helped us create a design that transformed a dilapidated Victorian with great bones into an open, light filled, comfortable home. We can’t wait to hire them to do the rest of the house!

We hired Luke and his team to renovate our front porch, place a walkway, replace the front door, and landscape the front yard in order to improve the look of our old house. Luke gave a very appropriate estimate and we are very pleased with the work. We still receive multiple compliments from our neighbors several months after the project has been completed. I'll be honest in saying that there were ups and downs along the way, however, Luke was always very responsive. He returned my calls, texts, and emails within 24 hours and would discuss any changes to the plan either in person or on the phone. His team was also very professional and courteous to my entire family throughout the renovation. We are looking forward to hiring them for any future renovations we have planned!
