We have used McClurg for various projects over the last 5 years - painting, a family room remodel, insulation, carpeting, and a laundry relocation, as well as a number of smaller “handyman” type fixes. McClurg has done multiple projects for us over the years from minor outdoor repairs to a brand-new, modern master bathroom. Each time, they have done an OUTSTANDING job and each employee is a true professional. They work with you from the conception right through completion and will come back to repair or tweak anything that needs adjusting. One thing I really like about McClurg is if they get a product from a supplier that isn't perfect they send it back. They have a high quality control in not only their craftsmanship but also in the products they use. Being a repeat customer is the highest feedback I can provide and we will continue to employ McClurg for our future home improvement projects.

The McClurg Team had their work cut out for them as my new deck and accompanying patio were scheduled for early spring. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner! There were many details to be 'hammered' out, and design needs to determined and completed successfully. I couldn't be happier with the results. This renovation improved the capability of this Bed & Breakfast by 100%. Scott and a different team built this house over 30 years ago, and the McClurg Team is always my preferred company to work with!!

McClurg has been fantastic. Shortly after moving in to our new house we found major water damage that our inspector missed. We needed to replace part of the back wall of our house and our shower. McClurg gave us lots of options and had a team that was easy and enjoyable to work with. The work was done in a good time frame and it looks beautiful. They are now our "go-to" company for remodels and repairs.

Scott and I worked together on a very challenging (and very rewarding) project in NY State where Scott is based. My architectural office is in Charlottesville, VA which is a good seven hour drive from the project house that Scott and I worked on. The distance could have been daunting, but Scott and his team made the process easy- they were a joy to work with every step of the way. Scott had the client's total confidence from past projects they had done together, and Scott did not disappoint with this total redo of a beautiful Craftsman style house.-The quality of Scott's work is first rate, and his tireless good cheer and collaborative spirit made our multi-year project a total pleasure. Jim Welsh was Scott's foreman on the job, and his attention to detail and tireless dedication to the project were a real standout. We hired McClurg to do a complete update on our second floor bedrooms and baths. At the initial meeting the gentleman admitted that they would be higher than most other contractors and explained why. I had read many reviews and seen other work and was expecting this. While they are more expensive, they did not exceed the cost that they told us it would cost. Other than a couple of items that were found after work began and we approved. That can not be said for almost any other work we have ever had done. You can generally count on at least 10% overage. I can not say enough about the lead carpenter. He was very easy to work with, always on time, and listened to us with any concerns. We are very happy with how everything looks. However, for the price we were paying, I was expecting that everyone that worked on our project would be McClurg employees. That is not the case. The electrician was a sub, the plumber was a sub, the painter was a sub, the tile and carpet people were subs. The electrician was fine. The painter did a fine job, but took much longer than you would expect. Plus, because I had not specifically said, paint the inside of the closets in the two smaller bedrooms, that had to be asked for. They did do that for free, but who doesn't paint the inside of a closet when painting the entire floor?? The plumber? It's a good thing that McClurg has a lifetime warranty on the work. I am now waiting for the plumber to return for the third time. All three counter sinks leak. To the point that after the second fix, I now have a water stain in the living room ceiling below one sink and no cold water in another sink due to the plumber kinking the line when he attempted to correct the leak the second time. I'm glad I was in the house for the tile installation as what could have been a garish mislay was able to be forstalled. Would I recommend McClurg to someone else, or have them do additional remodeling? Probably not.
