We just finished a complete, long planned kitchen remodel. Had not planned to use a designer but Midori was recommended and we decided to utilize her services. So glad we did! Midori met with us, quickly got a sense for our (my) aesthetic and ran with it. She made recommendations for materials I had never heard of and was gently encouraging to stretch beyond my comfort level to bring our kitchen design into a completely different direction. I especially valued Midori’s suggestions for floor, countertop, paint color and wall tile options. We unhesitatingly followed all of them and are super pleased with the end product. Midori was responsive, available, affordable and easy to work with..would highly recommend for an infusion of new ideas. Thank you Midori!

Midori has all the qualities we hope for in a designer: she is incredibly creative, adaptable to changing situations, and personally she is a joy to work with. This is the second time that we've used her services. Five years ago she helped us to buy furniture for our house after a large remodel. This time she advised us on furniture and decoration for our brand new house. We realize now that in preparation for this move, we sold all the furniture except the pieces that Midori helped us pick five years ago :) That really shows that Midori's choices stand the test of time. Midori had to work hard to sell us on some of her choices, and with time those have become some of our favorite furniture pieces in the house. Her style has continued to influence and inspire us over the years. We have recommended Midori to friends, and their experience has been consistent with ours. We have complete trust in her and do not hesitate in recommending her services to anyone.

My first opportunity to work with Midori was on a whole house remodel in 2008. She was hired by the clients after the construction was already well under way, when the clients realized that a designer could help them take the project a step further. Instead of simply improving and updating their home, they saw the potential to create a home that really excited them. Midori had to assess the situation quickly, and make major decisions as we were doing the structural work. She got to know the clients and the space – their daily routines, their tastes, their likes and dislikes, their lifestyle, their use of the house, the best views, the peek-a-boo views, the feel of the front entrance inside and out, the changing light throughout the day – and made changes in the first week that would later prove invaluable in allowing her overall vision to be achieved. On that first project and on the others that followed, I have enjoyed working with Midori because of her can-do approach, her constant upbeat energy, her detailed drawings and specifications, and her prompt decision making and communication. Midori is a professional who understands what it takes to make a project successful, on time, and on budget. Midori is adored by clients. Midori has the rare gift of having her own clear vision while being able to listen to clients and to support their vision and their objectives.

Midori has helped to design my house and manage it to completion. She listens to her customers' ideas and try to incorperate them into the design elements. Her design does not only look beautiful, it is also very practical as she considers the everyday usages detail of the client's need. We highly recommend Midori for your next house project, you will not be disapointed!
