Mike and his team guided my wife and I through an extensive and challenging home rebuilding project in 2019. Over 13 months, our entire house was gutted (including exterior brick removal) and rebuilt, doubling the square footage and changing the entire envelope and style of the home. Mike was part of the process almost a year before we started and his team was exceptional throughout the project. Every home construction project has challenges and no project will be perfect. It's important to surround yourself with a team that you can trust and people who will step up to meet the challenges of your project. We now have a unique and truly custom home.

Mike and his team are professional and hardworking. We would recommend him for any building project you have. He took an uninhabitable turn-of-the-century Victorian and made it into something special. Once we moved in, he still took pride in making sure we were happy with everything.

We had concerns about building a custom house, but Mike Miller was able to totally handle a unique architectural plan with some unusual roof lines. He was responsive to our questions and concerns during the construction process, and easily accommodated some custom changes to the floor plan as we actually saw the spaces develop. We were pleased that he would personally answer our calls, texts, or emails. He seems to have developed a good working relationship with quality subcontractors and employees. He has also been attentive to any of our concerns after occupancy.

We picked Mike Miller Building Company to build our 2nd custom home (3rd new build). We had him build from a set of plans that we developed with an architect prior to selecting a builder. We found Mike and his team, includes the trades he uses, to be extremely responsive and helpful. They were always there whenever we had a question or issue that needed attention. His communication skills are first rate. He was very informative throughout the entire building process and always kept us informed regarding the status to our budget. Mike Miller was the builder we hired for our dream house that was completed in Dec 2016. We had no prior relationship with Mike, but he came highly recommended by several families in the Northville/Novi area. While building a house is very stressful for almost any homeowner, he made this process very easy with no surprises, and we are more than pleased with the final result. Mike stuck to the timing, budget and quality of work performed. He has a great work ethic and would rather get the job done right than doing it very fast. Also, his familiarity with building codes and attaining permits and inspection was a hassle-free process for my husband and I. Finally, although Mike Miller's overall bid was not the cheapest, I am absolutely confident that he delivered the best quality work for the price. You will not meet a more considerate, punctual, and knowledgeable builder. Through the years we have done many renovations on our current house, thanks to Mike.. Never once have we been disappointed. We have added quartz floors to our front screened porch, added a gorgeous new stairway going upstairs and down, have completely renovated our entertainment center so that is is modern and sleek and blends so well with the existing pieces that you would think it is all original, and we have added a stunning Jeld-wen exterior door--just to name a few of our projects. When you meet Mike you immediately get a sense of his trustworthiness, excitement and dedication to work with you. This feeling doesn't change throughout the building process or after the project is complete. There are still dedicated craftsman out there and Mike's company is one of them. I would build another home with MMBC and have recommended him, without hesitation, to any of my friends or family that are in the market.

Mike Miller is an exceptional builder. His reputation among his customers, trades, and around town in general is sterling, and it is well-earned. We found him when we were shopping for existing homes in Northville, and noticed that the houses that we liked the most frequently had 'Mike Miller built...' in the description. We called him well before we were even sure we wanted to build a house. From the start he was upfront about the build process and the costs involved. As the project progressed, he helped us at each step, making the myriad decisions involved less overwhelming. Every build has it's share of issues, and we had our share, but Mike and his people were right there with us, getting issues resolved and keeping our stress levels down. For example, he negotiated with DTE to get our electrical hookup reduced to 25% of the original quote. If something didn't meet expectation, either his or mine, it was fixed or done over until it was up to snuff. The trades that he uses are share the same view of taking care of the customer. The finished product was worth the time, effort and expense and has exceeded our expectations in every way. And any time I've had an issue after moving in, he always responds the same day. I can't recommend him highly enough.

When I met Mike Miller, I liked him. Later we became friends and even later I learned that this was common with his 'customer.' I think that says a lot. The Mike Miller houses in my area POP off the street as the nicest and most beautiful, yet they also blend into our community which has many historic homes. Mike Miller has relationships with the highest quality artisans-- the subs (roofers, framers, drywallers, electricians, hard wood floor guys, etc. etc.). I told him I have a 'friend' that has a wood floor business and another who does kitchens/tile work and that I wanted to use them in the build. I was met with no resistance by Mike. He worked well with them/accommodated them/ helped them--- In the end, 'my guys' slowed the project down and ran into problems (that Mike fixed quickly). I wish I just used Mike's people. I know now it would have been cheaper, faster and better. I went to an architect that I knew. I had two meeting with him and some sketches. done I was shocked at the price. I ended up using Mike's people for literally 1/3 the costs. One of Mike's best attributes is his ability to stand at a project site and suggest changes along the entire way of the project for the optimal livability-functionality of the house. These suggestions and changes along the way were gold. Example: my original plans had my garage totally attached to my house. You came through the garage into the laundry room and another door from the laundry room went out to my back porch. From talking to me on many previous meetings, he knew I had two motorcycles. While standing in what would be the laundry room he stated, "I think this will be a little crowded. The two doors are a little close. There's not much wall space for other things. The space functions like a mud room too so will probably have a bench- need to hang coats, etc Let's push the garage over 5', move the one door there, creating an alcove now between the house and garage except where the laundry room is. You put a small industrial light in the alcove and back one of your motorcycles in like a show piece. Then a small wrought iron fence enclosing it and the alcove is like a display area." Without that change, that area would be cluttered and way too small for all of its purposes. Mike did this type of thing many many times the entire course of the build. He also made sure I did not do things that I would regret--- skimp on the sub-floor, basement height, windows. While showing me where it was okay to try to save a little money. Sure there were problems. I've built two houses. There are always problems. With Mike they were small, contained and not costly. He is not one to over promise; he is one to over deliver. I'd use him again and have recommended him to friends.

Literally could not have been a better experience. We wanted a new built home in downtown Northville and Mike had a good reputation in the area so we decided to work with him. Mike helped find us the lot/teardown for me, so not only was he the builder but he acted as a realtor for us as well. We found a small home, they tore it down, and built us our new home. it took about 12 months from start to finish which was a couple months longer than expected, but the wait was well worth it. Mike and his team were incredibly responsive and were able to do anything and everything we wanted. There wasn't one request we had that they couldn't get done. Whats been even more impressive to me is whats gone on after completion of the house. If I need anything, they have somebody at my front door within 24 hours. Ive already been referring Mike to friends and family looking to build and will continue to do so in the future.
