Nest Design and contracting

Steve of Nest Design and Contracting has singlehandedly restored my faith in humanity. My family and I have worked with many contractors on house renovation/building projects, and Steve is by far the most capable person we've worked with. We met Steve in 2020, and the first project we worked on together was a tricky basement remodel (framing, insulation, drywall, windows). He approached the challenge with curiosity, dug deep to understand our motivations, constraints, budget, and desired outcomes. He then researched potential solutions and found a modern custom solution to a technical house construction problem that checked all our boxes. He put together comprehensive work orders and estimates that were straightforward and detailed. He scheduled and executed the work quickly and efficiently. When there were design choices to be made or tradeoffs to be considered he consulted with us as to our preferences, offered options and his recommendation. The quality of the finished job was impeccable, on time, and on budget. We were hooked. We've worked on several more projects with Steve: adding a bathroom (framing, drywall, tile, shower enclosure installation), decks, interior and exterior staircases, fireplace surround with custom clay finish, window wells, foundation parging, baseboards and more. When we do come across some specialty that isn't yet in his wheelhouse (like plumbing or electrical) Steve gives referrals to equally capable people. We feel so lucky to have found Steve. He is the contractor friend we always wished we had. One who listens to our dreams and hopes and helps us figure out what we actually want, how to get it done (and then does it.) It's so refreshing to work with him. I know this is a relationship that is gonna last. Can't recommend Nest Design enough.
