Northland worked with us to transform a bathroom to a powder room and main bathroom. Space was limited and Gina’s design exceeded our expectations. Tom’s project mgmt and use of suppliers, sub contractors, and working through the permit process kept things moving smoothly. Workmanship and quality was excellent. Relationships with all involved over a 3 month period were comfortable. Couldn’t be happier.

We LOVE our new kitchen and dining area. It is really beautiful and is functioning much better for my husband in a wheel chair than our old space did. The added windows make a huge difference in the light, which is really nice on these dark days. I know I wouldn't have been able to make all these selections without Alyssa's help. She did a great job of listening to our preferences, and then helping us narrow down the options and make the actual selections. We really appreciate how easy Alyssa, Keegan and your entire crew were to work with. They clearly cared about making sure the job was completed correctly, and that we were happy with everything.

How do I even start. With the first meeting with Gina and Alicia, I knew I was working with family. They are local to Sherwood and have many local ties. Even though I was nervous about all of the logistics and paperwork, once the project started all of the nerves went away. Brian was my project manager and it was like they all were reading my mind. Alicia listened to all of my ideas and she worked her magic. She created a design that met my every need. And because she is with you every step of the way, she made all my decision making so easy. I decided to take a 4 room divided kitchen, living room, dining room with an additional family room, to a new kitchen living room and dining in an open concept. WOW! As the demo started I was unbelievably excited, and that feeling never went away. With each step in the process Brian kept me updated and on track with how the project would go. Then there were all of the workers, they were such a delight. Aaron, Glen, Riley, Gustavo and so many more. Please forgive me for not knowing everyone's names. They were all very hard working, respectful of my space and always left everything nice and clean. My new cabinets are beautiful and well crafted. The new floors are great. They worked so hard at getting everything just perfect. The painter, electricians, plumbers and anyone else I'm forgetting, did such a stellar job. Permits and the logistics went smoothly. I could gush all day about my beautiful new home. Thank you to Northland. I will recommend them to everyone I know. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thanks will never be enough.

We had Northland remodel our kitchen, push out an exterior wall to add a powder bath and pantry, and change a hall entry guest bath to an ensuite bath. From design to completion, we are so happy with both Northland's staff and the subs they contract with. Everything from floors to tile and cabinets were of the highest quality installation. Finally, our house feels like OUR house! Thank you, Northland!

Northland Design & Build did a fantastic job on our Kitchen/Family Room renovation. This was our 1st ever renovation, so we really didn't know what to expect. Working with them was such a blessing. They came by to view our space, and at that initial meeting, we knew they were the best fit for our project. They were so friendly, and no question was off limits it really put us at ease. From there, it was go time, we had several meetings discussing design/budget/time frame, and they moved like a well-oiled machine. The design process was fun but a bit overwhelming for me because I can be indecisive, my designer, Alicia, helped me focus on what I really wanted in the space, and she helped me feel confident about my decisions. She was able to help guide me on final decisions. I truly valued her voice and input because she wanted to ensure we loved the space. Brian was our project manager, and he and his team executed all the designs. When there were any hiccups with the time frame or design changes on our part, they were flexible and made it work. They have such a vast knowledge that I was always asking questions during the process, and they were always happy to answer questions to help me understand what was happening. One of the things I truly appreciated was the team of people always stayed the same, and they were always on time. I knew the people who would be coming to my home, and the work they did was excellent quality. They only worked with the best painters, flooring, and cabinetry contractors, so we trusted that the final project would turn out great. We love our space and have found a great construction company we trust, so we know who to call for future projects.

Northland Design & Build was a pleasure to work with from start to finish of our 2.5 month remodel. Both design and build teams were excellent, from Gina and Alicia who walked us through the daunting tasks of design, then choosing plumbing and lighting fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, wallpaper and paint colors for our 3 baths and laundry/mud room to Brian, Aaron and Riley on the Build team, who kept us well informed of their weekly schedule, were unobtrusive and always considerate of our needs. Most importantly, we love the end result of our remodel! The quality of Northland's work, as well as their subs, is top notch. Northland Design & Build not only completed our project on budget but were over 2 weeks early. We definitely made the right choice for a general contractor and would highly recommend Northland for your remodeling needs.

We have had the pleasure of working with Northland on our home remodel projects. Gina, Rod and crew did an amazing job on our total kitchen, dining and family room reno 3 years ago. They were attentive to our wishes, but also provided professional opinion and guidance to transform our dated home into a modern space. We appreciated their attention to detail, quality of work, and that they do not cut any corners. Since our first project went so well, we decided to have them come back and update our bathrooms, master closet and laundry room. We had a great experience with Northland Design for our kitchen remodel. Our designer Alyssa helped us reconfigure our layout to be more efficient and created a gorgeous modern design. We appreciated the straightforward design budget and timeline. Our project manager Brian was very responsive to all of our questions and kept us informed throughout the process. We were pleased with the work of all of the subcontractors, especially the custom cabinets which are spectacular!

When we were looking on Houzz for a Design/Build firm to complete a major remodel of our home, we read dozens and dozens of reviews for companies. We came across Northland Design and Build and saw all the glowing 5-star reviews and I thought to myself, “Yeah, sure, right! Can they really be that good?” The short answer to that question is, “yes they can!” And in fact they are.” The longer answer as to why they get so many good reviews lies in the details. Starting with the planning phase, Gina (the designer) claims there is fun to be had. And you know what? She’s right. She took us to places we never knew existed, had great suggestions for material and layout and was patient as we made decisions. She respected our choices and didn’t push her own agenda unless we were about to make a really stupid decision. The crew that came to work on our project showed up on time and ready to work. Keegan, Glen and Aaron were all respectful of our home, had great attitudes, treated our old dog with patience and politely answered a myriad of questions from us. Their attention to details and quality of work was top notch and exceeded our expectations. At the end, we were supposed to make a list of things we thought needed improvement and the list was completely empty. The finished project is amazing. The house is full of light and blends the indoor space with the outside garden so well. People walk in and are struck by how beautiful the place is and how well it works. It is perfect for entertaining, yet cozy for quiet evenings at home. I have been told my house is magical and I would have to agree. Thank you, Northland, for proving (over and above) you deserve your reputation.

The Team at Northland and Design are a step above the rest. As we all know having entire remodel top to bottom can be very stressful. Rod, Gina and team made the process very manageable with very little stress. One thing that really sticks out to me with their team is how they completed our project with a white glove attention to detail mind set. All that was orchestrated by Brian and his attention to detail, always looking out for our best interest. Thank you Northland Design for turning our 35 year old home into a modern day show stopper!

Northland Exceeded all our expectations. Gina saw my vision and she and Alicia made all the decision making so easy. We were updated weekly on what was happening or what was coming up and even though we remained living onsite Brian was very understanding and accommodating to all our needs. On top of everything, it all turned out better than expected. I can’t wait for our phase 2!

I have done two projects with Northland and wholeheartedly recommend them. The few unavoidable “hiccups” that come with a project were handled with grace and absolute professionalism. Both on the design side (thanks Alicia!) and the day to day construction process (the whole family, especially the dogs, miss seeing Rip around the house), I enjoyed every interaction with the team. Northland did a wonderful job during a very challenging time to be a contractor. They worked hard to provide us with the best quality and timeline possible. We loved working with Alyssa the designer, and couldn’t be happier with the end result. We felt understood from a design perspective from day one, and and thrilled with our home!

I saw Northland's work at my friend's house. Northland had done a large remodel job for my friend and it was BEAUTIFUL! Not only that, my friend said she would use them again in a heartbeat...and were actually getting ready to use them again for another project. So, we began the process of working with them for remodeling our house. As the process went along, I began to realize that I didn't actually need that level of a remodel and after working with them, we had to let them know that we weren't going to proceed further. But even that went great. They were very understanding. They were wonderful to work with and if we ever need to do a bigger project, they'll be the ones we call.

The Northland team is amazing! We started our remodel dream in the Spring of 2021 and by fall of 2021 we had broken ground. Our remodel included a full remodel on the guest bathroom, kitchen, powder room, as well as updates to our laundry room, flooring, baseboards, paint, lighting, plumbing, and electrical... a new house practically! We fell in love with Gina and Alyssa the first time they visited our home. They listened to our needs and wants and hit the ground running. The design process was so much fun and Alyssa truly nailed it! She was so easy to work with, fun, and had some amazing ideas. She was available to answer questions or discuss design throughout the process and didn't hesitate to make change orders if we needed. We really felt like she had our best interests at the forefront. Her design expertise took our vision to another level and we are so thrilled with the results. Tom was our on-site contractor, dealing with all the details, sub-contractors and inspectors, so we interacted with him often and he fielded all our question and concerns. He was truly the heart of the project and kept everything running smoothly and communication flowing. He was trustworthy, detail oriented, and you could tell he really cared about the final product. Tom went above and beyond, taking great care of our home during the entire project - we so appreciate him and loved working with him! Brian was our offsite coordinator/manager and kept all the schedules and resources in line, materials orders, etc. We know he was constantly juggling it all from behind the scenes and really took the stress off of us. He went to bat for us on a few occasions and knocked it out of the park. Besides our stove being on back order (not Northland's fault), our project went so smoothly and they finished right on schedule. Brian came out after the project was complete and did a detailed walk-through and corrected any areas that needed correcting. Gina and Alyssa also came out a couple weeks after completion for another walk-through and offered design advice which was so helpful to pull the space together. We couldn't be more pleased with the entire Northland team, we sure got lucky with this crew! Our final space is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. What an adventure! This partial remodel (kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room) transformed our modest home. Gina helped steer us toward timeless improvements and had comprehensive knowledge of what was possible and available. NL used the laser Matterport instrument to get precision measurements, which fed into comprehensive CAD drawings. This technology and the resulting renderings were central to seeing the effect of design choices and provided a seamless transition to the construction phase once those choices were made. Special improvements, incorporated in the design, to make the home more handicap accessible will allow us to "age-in-place" without needing to move at a future time. Once construction began, the skills of the workers came into play. To a man, they were careful, and showed the highest levels of professional skill, which made the result something we are proud of. They were always pleasant, very responsive to suggestion, and easy to talk to. Toward the end, we kept a joint "punch list" which kept the focus on the myriad details needing attention. Of special note were Brian, a jack-of-all-trades, who was on site a large fraction of the time and Tom who was very detail conscious. We were quite surprised one day to find Brian working behind the gas range in an impossibly confined space. The subcontractors were equally careful, and skilled, and offered numerous suggestions which led to better outcomes. Of particular note were the tile-setters. This father and son team had an exceptional eye that resulted in attractive tile layouts in all four rooms. The end result of all these contributors is something NL can be proud of and we will enjoy for the rest of our lives.

We had a great experience working with Northland. We had to make some big changes to the initial design due to some structural issues and the associated permitting delays. This slowed things down a bit but Gina, Heidi and Rachel took it in stride and worked with us to come up with a new design that we love. They were so patient answering our endless questions and offering suggestions. We were not living in the house at the time of the remodel but interacted with Jamie and Brian P. regularly. They kept us updated as they were able. Brian L. and Rip spent many days at the house after we moved back in, finishing up last minute items to complete the bathroom and kitchen. Their attention to detail and professionalism was appreciated. We love our new spaces and would definitely recommend Northland to others.

We have been extremely pleased with the results of our remodeling project with Northland. We cannot say enough about the design team from sitting down with Gina over coffee reimagining our beautiful new kitchen to both Heidi and Alyssa’s great help and advice with the design selections, particularly when we added the fireplace to the project. It was a pleasure working with Heidi as our point of contact as she kept the design process going smoothly, even with all the challenges of Covid, and was always responsive and patient with my endless questions. During construction, we really appreciated the finish work and attention to detail from Keegan, the expertise of the subcontractors, and Jamie who kept us informed and the schedule on track.

Northland did a total main floor remodel for us. We love the results. I really enjoyed working on the design with Alyssa. Not sure that I have an actual design style but Alyssa figured it out and the finished design is what I had in my head. The jobsite was always clean. Everyone on the team from Owner Gina to Project Manager Jamie to Judy the Bookkeeper answered all my questions. We would be happy to work with them again!

Gina and her design team were wonderful to work with on our extensive kitchen remodel. We so appreciated the collaborative approach as Gina carefully listened to our ideas and vision and then with her years of experience created a design that captured all we had hoped for and more - a kitchen that is both beautiful and truly functional. Rod and his construction team kept us up to date and communicated well as the project progressed, are highly skilled, and were a delight to have in our home. The entire design and build process was great and we are already looking forward to what we will have Northland back to remodel for us next!

Gina helped us with a significant redesign of our old, small kitchen. She met with us frequently and listened to our goals and aesthetic desires, with strict attention to our budget. She proposed some very creative and successful solutions for resolving several existing conditions that had been concerns to us. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Gina was so patient with us throughout with the design process. I had a difficult time making choices and her advice was always helpful and really fit with the vision I had for our project. The Northland Construction and Design crew are extremely talented and professional. From the first sketches of an extensive remodel to the final stages of the project, they delivered--at budget and on time. They recognized future problems (faulty plumbing from the original build), helped us determine what was feasible, and improved on a design that matched our taste. A major shout out goes to Alyssa for all the energy and hand holding (living through a COVID remodel is stressful), and we thank the entire crew for keeping the job going. Rod and Gina have excellent subcontractors who do professional work and are excellent subspecialists. The whole house seems new on the inside. (Rod, I'll call you about the outside once we digest). Can't say enough- I would recommend Northland to any serious customer who wants to a home remodel.

Northland Design and Build did an amazing job on our home remodel. From the very beginning we knew that we were in the right place! They were wonderful at being able to see the vision that you have for your home and find a way to make it happen! Gina and Alyssa met with us many times at every stage of the design process to help form a design that is functional, livable and beautiful. They had so many innovative ideas and samples to help guide us in the right direction. We loved that they made sure we had all materials picked before construction began to minimize the chances of a delay. The design team is amazing at listening to your style and vision and helping to define it and lead you to the look you dreamed of! We had an idea in our minds when we first met them, but as we went along the design journey – they came up with an enhanced version of what we had in our minds. This was led by their creativity and vision. The renderings looked like more than we could ever had imagined and we were so excited to begin! The house turned out even better than we expected. It looks like something out of a magazine. Rod and his team always go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied. We had a moment early on in the job where the plumbers crossed the hot and cold waterlines in our master bath while working in the kitchen. It was a Friday night and I texted Rod at 9:30 PM to ask if he had an easy fix. Rod jumped in his truck and was at our house in 15 minutes and he stayed until almost midnight getting it fixed. He didn’t want us to have cold showers over the weekend, so he stayed as long as it took to get working. That is the kind of service and quality of work you get from Northland from start to finish. As many customers have mentioned in previous reviews, Rod has a calm demeanor about him. This was very important while mid renovation the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Rod calmed us down and walked us step by step through the project always communicating along the way. Schedules always change, especially during COVID-19, but Rod seemed to always keep things on track while facing tremendous challenges. They had health and safety plans in place to make sure our family stayed safe during this stressful time. We feel like the entire Northland family became friends of ours during the renovation. In fact, their crew even helped our daughter make a ballet bar to use during her distance dance class on their own time when they saw me trying to put something together for her. This is a perfect example of the type of people the Northland family are – they are friendly, kind, meticulous in their attention to detail and accommodating! We will miss seeing them on a regular basis as we’ve gotten used to them being around. I can’t imagine going through a renovation with any other design & build company. Northland was great on our project! They helped us design beautiful Master + Kids bathrooms, and then executed them really nicely. They were extremely responsive to questions or concerns, and they had a great sense of how to put design into action. If an initial design idea didn't work, they always had good suggestions to achieve the same idea - and it often looked better their way!

I'm not sure I even have the words to describe how happy I am that I chose to work with Gina & Rod of Northland Design and Build. We have recently wrapped up the design phase & have moved on to the build/remodel phase of our home project. I know we don't have the finished product yet but I could not wait to share my experience because Gina and Alyssa are an amazing design team & we have so much confidence in Rod and his build team as we watch demolition and build out that has happened recently, too. As the lead designer, Gina's vision is absolutely stellar. She will take what is new and fresh and give you an updated look without making you feel like you are losing your own individuality. When I was stuck and overwhelmed by all the decision making, she guided me through by asking me just the right questions or giving me the time I needed to think something through. I don't know how she knew what I needed sometimes, but she always knew. Gina also has the uncanny ability to help you understand how things will work out when you are facing all of the unknown nervousness at the beginning of the project. Alyssa is a pleasure to work with and has amazing follow through as she coordinated with Gina and the team after our brainstorming sessions. I will miss getting to work & talk with them so often!!! Gina and Rod have a great behind the scenes team, too. Heidi seems to keep everything on track and everyone heading the right direction. Judy got right back to me during contracting and to help me understand the payment structure, etc. I know I am not mentioning everyone but they are all super responsive, professional, and clearly work well together and respect each other... otherwise it wouldn't have been as seamless as it felt. Rod instills a sense of quiet confidence and is always willing to explain something to us in lay people terms. He has a wealth of experience to help navigate the process including ways we can save money on not so fun things like asbestos remediation but still get the issue addressed in a safe and complete way. His calm and reassuring manner brings a certain sense of reassurance to a part of the project that could be insanely unnerving to most of us.....demolition and building. We know Rod has been a big part of the meetings that the design team has had as they were working through the design phase of our project. I got the impression from builders I met with previously that not all builders get involved with the details of the planning in the design phase. Rod, however, was clearly aware and involved from the begining. We are seeing the confirmation of his involvement as he explains to us what he is working on and how it all changed from our initial drafted plans to our final plans as the design evolved to meet our needs. Rod and Gina care that the projects are well planned out and fully thought through. They are detail oriented and want to understand how they can help you in the planning of your remodel. I think what sticks out the most on that topic is how amazingly generous they are with their time & energy to get it planned out right. They are creative problem solvers and willing to jump in and figure out ways to meet the needs of your project. Lastly, I have to express how gracious, generous, & unpretentious Gina, Rod, & Alyssa have all been. We have been working on a budget with one of our explicit goals being the promotion of one of our family members being able to age in place. I had the big design/build company in Portland come in for a consult and they essentially laughed at me instead of explaining what they could do for me on my budget. I had other builders come in and tell me they could do it on my budget but I needed to also find a designer who was willing to do plans and work with them (with additional costs). Gina worked TIRELESSLY to help us define & outline our needs, focus on what we could do on our budget to make our place function as our family needed it to and allowed ME to decide if I could increase my budget or not to meet our goals. She explored our desired options & alternate options helping us focus on goals but also making sure we stayed with high quality options so our project will be beautiful but also stand the test of time. She was willing to have both the exciting/fun conversations AND the difficult discussions....all while making sure we didn't feel like second class clients just because we had a budget. They really love what they do and who they are doing it for and it shows. Gina and Rod take an approach to re-modelling that I have not previously been blessed enough to experience. After working with them for several months it is so clear that when they do a remodel, they want to make sure you not only have a great experience, but that you know you are being listened to and your remodeling needs taken care of during this potentially overwhelming process.

Northland's finished product of our recent kitchen remodel checks all of the boxes that we listed as priorities when envisioning the updated hub of our home. Gina and Rod exceeded our expectations during the bid process reviewing structural limitations of the project and possible layout and design options. Gina's enthusiasm during the design process was great and she (as well as Heidi) were flexible in scheduling design meetings that worked with our limited schedule. When the remodel hit a structural roadblock, Rod worked tirelessly with the engineer to figure out a solution within budget that also allowed for the remodel to proceed as designed. Our 10 week project did end up taking about 6 months starting with a lengthy structural permit delay that then caused delays afterward due to rescheduling subcontractors during the busy summer months. Communication of the updated project schedule was at times lacking and made it hard to coordinate access to the house. Aside from the cabinet shop, the subcontractors were timely and had excellent work. We ran into multiple issues with the cabinet shop that were frustrating but Rod and his team did make sure that these issues were resolved in the end. Brian's finish work and attention to detail were top notch.

We are just at the end of our big project. We bought a 1972 ranch style home in the country that had never been updated. That's right, avocado green and burnt orange throughout. It had good bones on a beautiful piece of property but needed lots of TLC. Gina and Rod were just the right team for the job. Teresa loved working with Gina to develop the design. Gina's vision total transformed the kitchen, living area and master suite. Rod's experience brought the design to reality and is being finished to perfection. His expert advice was great in making decision on implementation. Rod's team is courteous and skilled to finish the job with excellence. They're fun too. We will miss hanging out with them. Our move in date has been moved out a few times but I think that is to be expected in today's construction environment. We simply couldn't imagine a better experience, it's going to be our dream home and can't wait to move in! Thanks Gina and Rod!

We love our new kitchen. It is quite beautiful and functional. We liked all the folks at Northland Design & Build.

My wife and I had decided to undertake an extensive remodel of our one-level home and after much deliberation, solicited three bids for the project. Our first two bids came from firms that were referred to us by friends. My wife insisted we investigate one more firm. Thank goodness we did! Having no other referrals, we turned to Houzz to see if we could find someone we might like. She found Northland Design and Build and was impressed with their renovation experience, esthetics, as well as their Houzz ratings. Gina returned my call within twenty minutes. She and Rod came to our home the following day and we instantly like them both. Gina is very creative and Rod gets it done. They make a fantastic team. After walking through our scope of work, we mentioned vaulting the ceiling. Rod went up and into the attic and discovered that we had vault trusses and that it would be easy to vault the ceiling! Also, Northland’s bid was very competitive with the other two bids we received. The remodel itself went smoothly. We were very happy with the creative collaboration with Gina and equally impressed with Rod’s attention to detail. With our busy professional and personal lives, Gina planned creative review sessions that worked for our schedules while Rod’s team kept the execution impact minimal to our home while we lived in it through the renovation – alerts on when contractors would be on-site, the work flow and cleaning up after a day’s work so we could remain living on premises (except for new hardwood flooring install). Northland was very communicative throughout the process and kept the project on-track. They are responsive, professional and addressed our needs in a timely manner throughout the renovation process. The sub-contractors they used were all very good, especially the tile work. The tile work is exquisite. We now have an absolutely gorgeous kitchen, back patio and bathroom. I would highly recommend Northland Design and suggest including them in your bid process. We couldn’t be more happy. We receive glowing compliments from all of our friends and family on the beautiful design and quality craftsmanship!

I had my kitchen and two bathrooms remodeled by Northland Design and Build and could not be happier with the final outcome! Everyone who has seen the remodel has commented that it looks straight out of a Home Decor magazine! I was very new to the process of remodeling and the team at Northland answered all of my questions even when I was freaking out at later times in the evening! I really appreciate the patience and resourcefulness of everyone on the team!!! The workmanship and attention to detail was excellent and having an interior designer walk me through options and offer suggestions really made all the difference at pulling together a cohesive design that will age gracefully for many years to come!

We bought a *major* fixer-upper home in Sandy, and we knew it would need incredible professionals to pull off the vision we had. They remodeled our kitchen, added gorgeous dark hardwood floors to our living and dining areas, spruced up a guest room and brought our old 1980s staircase into the present day. These guys are smart, creative, fun and full of innovative ideas. Gina saved us money wherever she could throughout the project. Rod made sure the workmanship lived up to his expectations. Any possible issue that came up they took care of immediately! They were a joy to work with and we highly recommend them to all!

I have been extremely pleased with the whole experience working with Northland Design and Build on the major remodel of my kitchen, master bath, and stairway. In addition, they replaced and/or refinished all the floors and painted all walls and ceilings. The results are an essentially new home, with some stunning new features and an overall updated look and feel. Gina worked tirelessly to insure the design ended up as I wanted. She exhibited great patience and offered great incite where and when I needed it. Rod and the rest of the Northland crew are meticulous, yet practical, craftsmen, and appeared to work well together. They diligently addressed issues I might not have even noticed and were always responsive to correct the ones I did. They were always cooperative and considerate, going out of their way to insure my safety and comfort, as I was living in the home through demo, construction, and finishing. We enjoyed working with the Northland team to remodel our 70's kitchen. From our first meeting with Rod and Gina, we were confident they would do excellent work. We bought a modern farmhouse in early 2002. Because we are part of a big family we wanted the kitchen to be the main focus of our home. We have spent many hours around our farm table with our family and friends loving every moment. However, over time we realized our kitchen circa 1996 was incredibly outdated. The white pine cupboards and blue Corian countertops served us well for over 15 years but they were battle worn and we needed a change. We also were faced with a storage challenge. Because our kitchen was oddly shaped with a peninsula island it made cooking with more than one person tough. We researched many different contractors before we selected Northland Design & Build to remodel our kitchen and dining area. Rod and Gina Loewer and their design team stepped up to the job. Northland designed and remodeled my down stairs bathroom this summer. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly what I envisioned. They were totally hands on helping me decide on tile, lighting, countertops and appliances. They were helpful in everyway - they came in on time and on budget!! It was a small space so were able to open up the room and give it the contemporary feel I was looking for. I would definitely recommend them!

There were times during the project where better communication would have helped with some of the typical stress of a remodel. The quality of the subs and the work crew was top notch. I have a hard time providing any constructive feedback on Northland. The company remodeled our kitchen and back entry and updated main level wood floors, staircases and a fireplace. They were on budget, on time and a pleasure to work...which I hear from friends is rarely the case. And most importantly, the final result is awesome! Rod and Gina (& Esperanza) are a phenomenal team. Gina is creative, collaborative, and clearly committed to creating a final product that we would love. Some people might be deterred by the extra expense of hiring a designer, but for two working parents, she was a huge gift and worth every penny. She did the leg work of identifying possibilities and then working with me to refine selections. She has a great eye for detail and knows what she likes but was flexible to consider our preferences and style. Rod was just a steady force. He instills confidence- personable, accessible, professional and kept everything moving along smoothly. His subs are high quality people who were thoughtful and responsive. As we think about starting a phase 2 remodel, we cannot imagine going through it with anyone else.. and in fact, I am actually looking forward to it.

I contacted Gina and Rod at Northland based on other reviews and information I had found and Gina promptly responded with an email and phone call to set up an in person meeting. It's been about 6 months since Northland completely remodeled our master bathroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. Rod & Gina were awesome to work with. It was amazing seeing the bathroom completely re-envisioned. With a very long wish list, Gina was able to create a modern design while giving me all the practical elements I have been needing in a bathroom, even incorporating a custom hairdryer drawer into my vanity. Whether Rod is at the jobsite or not, he is always on top of it and knows what is going on. We had some of the best subs including the meticulous tile company that put down our beautiful tile wood-grain heated floors, our beautiful 3-headed shower walls with accent wall and tile-surround mirrors. As trying as it is to live through construction, and in your own bathroom, everyone at Northland was respectful and focused on getting the job done. I found Northland through Houzz and lucked out when I called Gina and she was able to meet with me. Her design style is collaborative and fun. I got to the point where I let her pick out the chandelier, the drawer pulls, the paint, etc. and it was all spot on perfect. She also halted the order of the glass shower walls, and as it turned out they would not have been right without a second look and an adjustment to the order. It was worth a 2 week delay because I have to look at them every day and they are perfect. I feel really lucky I found Northland, they turned my bathroom into a spa!

Rod and Gina did a remodel on my house before I moved in and did a wonderful job. When I decided to add a master suite on they came up with a wonderful design that I loved. As managers of a newly blossoming vineyard in Willamette Valley, my husband and I were (needless to say) very busy with getting equipment ready for harvest, contacting potential grape buyers and keeping up the multiple houses, outbuildings + 10 acres of ornamentally landscaped areas. Prior to Northland Design & Build, the garage was pretty basic and uninspiring -- a one-car garage attached to a 600 square foot low-ceiling storage room. When it came time to choose a company to remodel this structure, we were looking for someone that had the know-how to work with the existing structure + foundation as well as help us reach a potential look-and-feel that set us apart in the wine industry. Northland Design & Build did extensive and beautiful work on the garage/storage house--inside and out--they took the roof off, vaulted the ceilings, enlarged and tiled the bathroom, replaced floors and added a kitchenette, bedroom and living area. It was amazing how they turned such a small space into a light + airy retreat house, fit enough for a my husband and I (as vineyard property managers) to take intermittent stays there as well as entertain potential grape buyers. We opted for the full-decor package and were so glad we did. Gina's decorating touches from the art on the walls down to the selection of the towels in the bathroom set the tone and created a Wow-factor. We received (and are still receiving!) rave reviews from clients who enjoy the space. Northland Design & Build went on to make the property more accessible by creating a wraparound driveway that allowed easy access to the vineyard and houses for various vineyard contractors + guests. Sherwood Complete Kitchen Remodel - Spring 2015 This project went well from start to finish. From the start Northland saw our vision and worked to make it happen. They presented an understandable plan and estimate. There was minor confusion regrading what was included and not on a couple of items but they were quick to get these resolved. They provided new CAD drawings as we tweaked the design several times. They made great recommendations for some things we did not think of. Northland accompanied us to select materials and appliances and helped in negotiating prices. Also they worked very hard to make a couple of alterations which were logistical problems. For example, making the vent hood work with our unusual roof line and still keeping it centered properly over the cook top. The subs were craftsmen, quality work, and easy to deal with. The project was finished on schedule and on budget and they cleaned the job site completely. Northland was great to work with. We are very happy with the results and would recommend them highly.

Gina & Rod did a full kitchen and master bath remodel for us. The master bath was an add on that we weren't expecting until we opened up the ceiling in the kitchen and realized we needed to do something about the structural engineering upstairs! Even with the unexpected additional project, they still completed everything on time and were very cognizant to stay within budget.! Both Rod and Gina, as well as their entire team (both at Northland and subcontractors) were truly enjoyable to work with. They were very responsive, got what we were looking for and came up with unique solutions to some of the challenges within our space. Rod kept the project ahead of schedule and settled for nothing short of perfection from his sub-contractors. From the beginning, Gina listened to all of my ideas, then designed the kitchen of my dreams. We still walk into our kitchen everyday and can't believe the transformation. We loved working with Northland Design and Build. They redesigned two bathrooms and added a closet in our bedroom, making the rooms much more usable. Gina's advice and ideas were brilliant. She picked out tiles and stone that created just the look I was hoping for. And she even found a way for us to have heated floors in both bathrooms while keeping it within my budget. She chose the paint for the whole house, and I often get compliments from guests about how beautiful the colors are. I've recommended her to several friends. Gina was there for the whole remodeling process, checking to make sure everything was going as planned. She even had the painter repaint the whole fireplace wall when she saw that the color was not quite what she wanted! Her whole team was so helpful and everything was done on time. It was a pleasure to work with her.

Northland provides thorough support from the start to the end of the project. They are a team of professionals that you get to know as extended family. Their attention to detail in the planning phase will reveal itself during the construction. Our experience with Northland was wonderful in every way. Gina is great and very fun to work with. She respected my ideas and gave me so many more of her own. Between the two of us we came out with a beautiful new kitchen and bathroom. Rod is amazing as well. All the work he and his team did was beautiful and of the highest quality workmanship. We purchased a home built in the 80's that needed extensive remodeling. Our real estate agent recommended Rod and Gina at Northland Design & Build. They gave us a ballpark estimate of the work we wanted done which helped us make a competitive offer on the home. This was a 12 week project. They gutted and remodeled the kitchen, two bathrooms, created a new laundry room , converted a room into a 4th bedroom. We spent a lot of time with Gina designing the home. Once the work started, Gina was very involved making minor adjustments along the way as the project unfolded. They stayed on budget, on time and there were no surprises. I can honestly recommend Northland Design and build with no reservations. Great to work with.

Gina and Rod Loewer, owners of Northland Design and Build, are fabulous to work with. My husband and I worked with them on a complete redesign/relocation of our kitchen and family room. The experience went very well, from start to finish. What is unique about Northland that they have both design and build experience in one place. Gina works on the design and décor elements, while Rod focuses on the contracting/construction elements. The combination was great as it eliminated the need for a 3rd party designer/architect and cut down on costs and hassle. Gina has a great eye for design. She focused on the wow factor we were looking for in our kitchen and worked with us to make sure we were happy with the materials. We are often complimented on the amazing details and we love the outcome. It was truly a one-of-a-kind design that you don't see everywhere--we appreciate that. Rod is the guy on the ground making sure the work gets done on time and with quality. He answered all of our 10,000 questions and was a stickler for the schedule. He kept us informed of all the issues that are normal aspects of a remodel as extensive as ours. During our project, we encountered a snag with one of the aspects of the design, and Rod and Gina worked with us to ensure things were corrected and to understand the delay. They really wanted to ensure we were happy with the end result. Even more impressive was that the schedule was kept within the projected timeline! We have since recommended Northland to several families. I will recommend them in the future as well!

The gang at Northland did an AMAZING job, start to finish! Our kitchen was done on time and on budget. From helping me choose materials and appliances, to expert craftsmanship and installation, we were absolutely thrilled with the entire process. I can't wait to have them do more work for us. Rod and Gina are incredible! They brought everything to the table that I could have hoped for in a design build team. They helped create a vision, design and remodeling plan for a house that I was buying. Ultimately the purchase fell through, so the remodel did not end up happening, but that being said, throughout the process of design and bidding I felt like I was in such good hands. Their experience is unprecedented and creativity is endless. They were able to come up with an incredible plan that fit within my budget. Words I would used to describe Northland would be fun, creative, experienced, FUN, reliable and trustworthy. My only hope is that I can work with them again in the future!

Northalnd Design and Build made our home remodel a great experience. Gina, the designer, quickly grasped our vision and directed our search, making it fun and productive. She showed excellent ability to take our vision and turn it into something even better. She was very receptive to our ideas and "monkey wrenches." We had just the right amount of control over decisions to not be overwhelmed and to have an end result that was truly ours. Rod, the contractor, took everything we threw at him and made it work. They finished on time, to the day. There were no surprises along the way. Any issues that we identified were dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. The workmanship is top notch. The subs were professional and did an excellent quality of work. Our herringbone back splash is the "star" that everyone compliments. The whole team at Northland Design and Build is fantastic and we could not have asked for a better, more trustworthy group to remodel our home.
