I can't help but smile every time I walk into my newly remodeled kitchen. I used to dread making meals but I can't wait to get straight down to task now that I have such a bright, beautiful, peaceful place to work. The folks at Refined Renovation were wonderful to work with from the project's conception, to its wildly thrilling conclusion. I enjoyed every craftsman that contributed to the final product. Communication was straightforward and constant which I very much appreciated.

We have worked with Refined Renovations for two remodeling projects. Most recently we had them remodel a dated bathroom with a shower-over-tub configuration to a low threshold walk-in shower. It involved gutting the bathroom, removing a partial wall and rerouting some plumbing to change a wall mount toilet to a floor mount toilet. They installed a custom vanity, all new plumbing, electrical fixtures and glass shower doors, tiled the floor, tiled the shower surround, and installed in-floor heating. We loved the design concepts they came up with. Their design ideas were well thought out and presented. The bathroom decor flows perfectly with the rest of our house. Refined Renovations is a fantastic company to work with. All the workers who came in our home were professional and reliable. We were kept informed about the schedule as adjustments were made. If any issues arose, Refined Renovations would address it immediately and trouble shoot to get the issue taken care of with minimum delay. During the project Refined Renovations kept the mess contained to the work area; the rest of the house stayed clean. We love the finished bathroom. It is a beautiful space for our guests and family to use. Working with Refined Renovations made the whole process easy. It was great to work with a company we could trust and feel comfortable with in our home. We would consult them again for any future renovations in our home.

Refined Renovation did an amazing job replacing a worn wooden deck on the back of our 1924 Milwaukee bungalow. The 2nd-story eye-sore is gone and in its place a beautiful porch that is a wonderful amenity that truly enhances our home. We love the design, scale, materials, and lighting. Working with Matthew Jahns and his talented team was rewarding from the start. From concept to design to construction, they were creative, professional, and fun to work with. The result was a major improvement to our home, even more beautiful than we expected.

We tasked Refined Renovations to install a full bathroom in our lower level and to expand our sunroom. While the projects took a bit longer than anticipated, the results are amazing (and under budget!). Working closely with both Stephanie and Andrew was a pleasurable experience. The open communication ensured that our concerns were addressed in a timely manner and that our design considerations, which evolved as the construction progressed, were met. We chose RR based on their reputation for quality and an eye for detail. We were not disappointed. Our friends like to say that our sunroom does not feel like a ‘new addition’ but part of the original design when the house was built. A true compliment.

We have worked with Refined Renovations for two major home remodeling projects. They reconfigured and refinished our basement a few years ago and, most recently, completely overhauled our kitchen with a new layout and design. The results are stunning! We were so happy with the initial design presented to us, as it was more creative and open than we pictured we could do with the space! It’s hard to find the words that express how we feel about our new living space. Matt and his design crew brought my dream to life and took it up more than a notch or two. They incorporated design elements that I never would have imagined and those features are what makes our home flow from one room to another. I often have said that I feel like I’m living in a magazine. The process is long, but Matt has been able to incorporate ways to make the process easier for the homeowner to live through it. His construction crews are wonderful, and I felt comfortable with them and their ability. They are very responsive and would go out of their way to make sure we were happy with their work. We have been working with RR-specifically Matthew and his team since 2018. The RR team has demonstrated a strong commitment for making my family's vision for our "forever" home come true. We look where we started and where we have come and are astonished at the positive results we have obtained using RR. We have renovated our entire home, including an addition to our upper level. Despite it being a multi year and multi-phase project, I could not imagine a smoother process. We are especially thankful for our project lead, Andrew Schade. His carpentry is impeccable. His attention to detail on point. He took care of an incredible amount of coordinating subs behind the scenes and generally was 1 step ahead of us throughout an almost 3 year renovation. He was always willing to go above and beyond-helping us with tasks just out of the kindness of his heart. Of note, we appreciate that the individual teams RR contracted to work in our home were professional, willing to mask and socially distance for our safety during the pandemic. Stephanie also took time to get an understand of our taste and budget constraints. She worked with us to meet our needs while also giving us multiple tasteful choices. As we come to a close on our remodeling process, we will keep our ties strong with the RR team. We are grateful for the lovely experience we have in our "new" home.

It's hard to describe how amazing Refined Renovations is, from top to bottom. This group not only does amazing quality work, we feel like we became personal friends with everyone who worked on the house throughout the length of our project, and have kept in touch ever since. True partners in design and construction, wonderful at their craft, and amazing people to share space with (both their core team and their subcontractors). Beyond the initial quality of work, they have stood behind that quality for years, and what small handful of problems cropped up, were happy to come by and address after the fact. The design, project management, operations and construction team members at Refined Renovations were all amazing. We just completed our renovation with Refined Renovations and we can not say enough great things about the whole team! From understanding our vision and bringing every detail to life, down to treating our home as if it were theirs and it truly shows! We had a pretty big renovation which included removal of walls, moving plumbing, re-staining floors, complete gut of the kitchen and powder bath, HVAC relocation, a lot of electrical work as well as a lot of paint. Each trade was professional, timely, trustworthy and experts at their craft. You can tell in the end product that RR has spent the time building such a great team. The team is responsive, you have clear expectations as to what to expect, and they keep you updated with any changes. RR has such pride in their work, and they hold themselves to such a high standard that they expect perfection from each trade which we really appreciate. One thing that stood out to us, was at the end of the project they brought in an unbiased person to walk through the house to make sure each item that was renovated was complete and at their and our standard. This level of care to their work can truly be seen in the end product. We continue to fall more and more in love with our house everyday. It is beyond beautiful and we look forward to work with them again on any future projects.

We are so pleased with the results of our remodel with Refined Renovations. Not only are the results beautiful and functional, the experience we had throughout the process was truly great. We gutted our kitchen, took down a wall to join it with the dining room, redesigned our entryway/mudroom space to be significantly more functional and made cosmetic improvements to our living room to blend it seamlessly with the renovated space. In the design process, Matt & team were able to take our broad ideas and translate them into a design that we loved - down to the details. They led us through the process and made decisions throughout the project quick and easy. They pledged to make the construction portion of the project as painless as possible and they really delivered. Over 3 months of construction of a completely gutted kitchen I think we only had one evening where we did not have use of our sink and stove. Clean-up every evening was great and dust was minimal. Not that there weren't bumps. There will always be a couple in a project of this scale. But RR's responsiveness was outstanding and any "bumps" were handled to our satisfaction. I would (and have) recommend Refined Renovations to friends and family without an ounce of hesitation.

When my husband and I bought our 1926 home two years ago, we knew the first project was going to be an updated kitchen and powder room. We came to Refined Renovations with a series of ‘wish list’ items: We wanted to open the kitchen and dining room into one inviting space; we wanted a bright, modern kitchen that still respects the home’s original 1920’s character; improve the flow and circulation between kitchen/dining room and the den and living room spaces; and fit a powder room into the new open floor plan. Lastly, we asked if them if there was any way to re-imagine our rear entry to the house – a tight set of steps that led to a narrow entry hallway with no storage for coats and boots. The concept that Refined Renovations developed for our home far exceeded anything we could have ever conceived. They solved all our wish list items to maximize space and transform the house into what is truly our dream home. We could not be happier with the result and the process working with the team. They took the time with us (a very particular couple) to find the right design, finishes, materials, colors, etc. The level of design expertise, quality of construction, craftsmanship, and professionalism while working in our home was amazing. We just completed a kitchen and first floor remodel working with Matt and his team. From the beginning, it was clear that Matt understood what we wanted in terms of space, style, and budget. He has an excellent design sense and listens intently to what the client wants, which makes the entire process truly feel like a collaboration. Although we only made a very few structural changes, the affects were profound. We are extremely pleased with our "new" house, and judging from the reactions from family and friends over the holidays, we are not alone! The Refined Renovations team produces very high quality work with a level of craftsmanship that really stands out. Matt and his team at Refined Renovations are truly exceptional. They approach your project like it's their own home -- they really care, ask a lot of questions, get to know you, and keep working until it's exactly what you want. We had a lot of things we wanted to do that were very particular, and they came up with creative solutions that worked out well. We also made some changes and additions as we went, and they flexed as needed to incorporate new thinking or ideas along the way. We had a vendor already in place doing some home automation, and Matt and his team were also very willing to work in partnership with them. Our project was a condo remodel, including flooring, kitchen and bathroom. Condos come with a lot of extra rules and requirements since you have neighbors on all sides. But our project went incredibly smoothly. The team was extremely professional, deadlines were met, everything was kept clean and we heard very few complaints from our building management or neighbors. We also were out of town for long stretches of the project, meaning we weren't supervising or checking in on the work in any way -- and we never worried once. Matt is so trustworthy and dedicated, we'd gladly hand over our keys for another project, and know he would make sure it's flawless and beautiful. We absolutely love our home now, and are grateful to Matt and his team for all their amazing work.

Working with Matt and his team of highly trained professionals was great! We just finished "phase two" of our home remodel. We live in a large very unusual home in Brookfield and right from the start Matt has taken our ideas and helped us create something better than we could have ever imagined. Oh, WOW! We just completed a little reno with Refined Renovations that included tearing off the upper story of our home and rebuilding to provide a master suite and guest suite. The design process with fun and collaborative. They had ideas, we had ideas. They guided us to great solutions and brought it all together to make our home better than we imagined it could be. Everyone who worked on the project was excellent at their trades, friendly and professional. I will definitely ask them back for our next project ... in a couple years!

It is hard to express how great it has been working with Matt and his team at Refined Renovations on our home remodel. They are amazing and the epitome of a professional remodeling company. We felt a trust build almost immediately and thus relied on them completely for design advice; they delivered so much more than we even hoped for. It was a tall task that we gave them, but they were more than up the challenge. They took our dated 1990’s French Tudor, and completely remodeled our entire first floor, making it a more timeless and functional space, yet keeping the Tudor ‘feel’. The entire team of employees and subcontractors were trustworthy, hard workers and delightful to have in our home. Their attention to detail is present in everything they do. We loved the way they kept us informed of scheduling and even handled some things we added along the way seamlessly. We have and would definitely recommend them.

Our 30 plus year old kitchen was in much need of an update. After talking to three remodelers we chose Refined Renovations because of the unique innovative design they proposed. Our main goal was to lighten up the kitchen. This involved a major effort in removing a load bearing wall and rerouting electrical, plumbing and heating. Matt Jahns provided great supervision of the project with managing and scheduling of supplies and workers. He used quality craftsmen for all aspects of the project. Matt was very pleasant to work with. He presented various suggestions throughout the project which allowed us to incorporate special elements into the redesign. Ripping up one’s house is a painful process but Matt and his crew made it as painless as possible. The finished project is a bright, modern kitchen with ample storage space, a redesigned powder room and a laundry room with new counter space. From the first meeting to understand my goals for my kitchen, family room, mudroom and other issues with my home, Refined Renovations was impressive. Matthew Jahns and his team courageously entered a delicate situation because I was dissatisfied with work that a previous contractor had recently done in our kitchen. I had admired his work at my friend Hyndie Steck's home, where the project started after ours and finished before we were complete. Now that we've worked with Matthew, I realize how he is able to dovetail steps in the construction process in order to shorten the overall lapsed time. Matthew was courteous and attentive right from the design stage through demolition and construction. We hired Refined Renovations to remodel our kitchen/ first floor and loved the end result almost as much as the experience of remodeling with them. I contracted with Refined Renovations for design and GC for a complete renovation of my kitchen. I have a 1924 bungalow in Washington Heights and have been doing a project every couple of years. This is one of the best experiences I've had starting with an inspired design from the architect, and a quick and easy demolition followed by an efficient build-out over about a 9 week period. The foreman and entire crew were friendly, professional, respectful, responsive, and just plain good people. I was sorry to say good-bye at the end of the project. I love my new kitchen and highly recommend Refined Renovations if you are considering a remodel.

This is where we met Matt Jahns and his team at Refined Renovations. The number of times we've heard the contractor horror stories of ballooning budgets and over extended timelines made us weary of beginning such a large project (we were planning to live through the main floor remodel by setting up a temporary kitchen is our basement). We were pleased by the detailed project timeline given to us prior to the start of the remodel, and even more overjoyed when those dates were actually held firm and in some cases completed several days early and on budget! Remodeling our kitchen, half bath and utility room was an enjoyable experience. Yes, I said enjoyable!
