When it was time to look for a builder for our retirement home, we wanted one that was local to the area we were going to live, but we didn't want some large, impersonal construction company. Jean and Jeff have been amazing from the first time we met them all the way through construction. Their attention to detail was fantastic.... Jean is constantly asking about things we never would have thought about. Jeff's level of craftsmanship is very impressive. The construction is top quality. They are building us the house of our dreams, and even though it isn't quite done yet, we can see the dream coming true. We highly recommend these two!

Southern Image Design Builders (Jeff and Jean) are the REAL DEAL A+++++ Jeff and Jean performed multiple jobs for us as small as re-grouting bathrooms, fixing tile issues, having a glass shower enclosure installed, a stone facade to the front of the house and creating and outdoor addition 3 season room. Their work was meticulous, their communication was clear, and their billing was transparent!! This is not what we experienced with multiple other contractors in the area. I wish we would have originally built our home with them. You will be quite pleased with them.

While this review may be a bit untraditional, it is sincere and the work of Jean was excellent. Having moved to rural Virginia last summer, I'd begun daydreaming about a shared home, a "we" home, for me and my long-distance beau of over three years. (He is the reason for my move.) Rather than buy a home, we'd been brainstorming the idea of updating and expanding his 1990's builder-grade ranch. It is a true bachelor pad, complete with spiders, their webs, dust bunnies, snakes of wrinkled towels and linens in a too-small linen closet, and a kitchen that looks more like a war zone than a food prep area. There is little room to entertain or host a guest, and as an artist, I seek a space to create my work. (There is none here.) So, Jean and I started a dialogue and I shared with her my dilemma about expanding "his" house and making it "ours" without insulting my beau or risking him feeling displaced. Jean's guidance and wisdom were profoundly helpful, including suggesting we create a list of wishes/needs, a budget and timeframe to help our ideas take form. In a very unexpected twist of fate, one of our friends through work knew of a home for sale in our area, and after a conversation with the sellers, we are moving in the direction of a "we" house, rather than updating the manranch. As I have never been involved with a renovation, Jean's input was invaluable and helped us put our big ideas down on paper, making them tangible and real. And THAT was very exciting to see. If our new home needs a hand, you can be sure I will not hesitate to contact Southern Image Design Builders. Thank you, Jean! ox
