Abeer was not only timely and expert in her execution and presentation of documents; she went the extra mile and became first the liaison and then ambassador for the project. Synthesis is currently redoing 2 of my bathrooms, including a master bath, and an addition of a laundry room/pantry at my house. The entire team at Synthesis is an absolute pleasure to work with. From concept to design to construction bidding, their communication and understanding of my needs and desires has been consummately professional and timely. Synthesis, Inc. was a pleasure to work with! They understand and anticipate the questions. This was a complete Home restoration, and renovation taken down to the studs. The front was completely changed from entry and elevator while the back kitchen-great room were moved out to the west and south. We now have a modern, up to date, home with an indoor and outdoor feel.

I purchased a home in Los Angeles without knowing who or how to renovate my rather complicated project. I interviewed several design build firms and I found Sysnthesis to be the most competent and assured in their presentation versus the competition. They have continued to impress me with their abaility to listen to my desires, while also preventing me from making some silly choices for myself in the design. I feel that I could not have made a better choice.

I can not say enough about how enjoyable working with Synthesis was for me and my family. This was the fourth major home remodel I have done with three different architect/contractors at two different houses, so I definitely had a basis for comparison and this was easily the most positive experience of all. Working with Abeer, Jeff and the rest of their team was a joy from beginning to end. They were creative, practical, responsive and thoroughly professional at all stages from planning to completion and follow-up. My children and I lived in the house while it was being completely remodeled (the kitchen and all three baths were completely redone and most of the rest of the house was demolished to the studs) and everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Synthesis was engaged to design a remodel of my 3,800 square foot office that allowed for reducing amount of net square footage leased each month. Abeer and her team were creative, professional, cost conscious and timely in their work. We can't wait to get construction drawings out to bid and see our work environment transformed.

Syn-the-Sis was the GC on the redesign of our backyard. The project included water features, an outdoor fireplace, built in bbq, french doors and a pergola. The project could not have turned out better. Our backyard is beautiful and truly the showpiece of our property. The project itself went very smoothly. Everyone, including the subs, were friendly, professional and very helpful. We would highly recommend Syn-the-Sis to anyone with a major construction and/or architectural project.

The Synthesis team understood what I was trying to achieve very quickly, so we were able to hone in on final design plans pretty rapidly. I really enjoyed the working process and am absolutely in love with the results. I would definitely use Abeer again.

We have worked with Syn-thesis for many years regarding our large project to remodel a mainly derelict warehouse in Los Angeles to a live/work loft space. Abeer Sweis (their primary architect) came up with a great design and was very responsive to our input. Synthesis did a fantastic job of transforming our generic track home to a customized elegant home that we wanted to live in. They were able to find synergy between our track home and what we wanted in our ideal vision. They came up with beautiful designs that both my wife and I liked, then they implemented, everything from an engineered wall, balcony, hardscape, pocket doors, lighting, stone floors, paint, furniture,... 4 years later we are still happy with their work and would use them again in a flash.

We have worked with Abeer on the design of two of our homes, one in Santa Barbara and one in Los Angeles. In both cases we were impressed with her ability to listen to our wishes and respond with creative and beautiful options that met and exceeded all of our requirements. In Santa Barbara, we worked on a steep hillside design. The site conditions resulted in significant technical issues but Abeer solved each problem to our great satisfaction. What was even more impressive was with the way she dealt with a demanding and at times conflicting set of planning requirements of the local Boards and Commissions. We were ready to strangle a number of the board members and planning officials for talking what appeared to be capricious positions. We were astonished with her easy demeanor and ability to develop compromises they accepted but always maintaining our design and budget requirements. In Los Angeles we worked with her on the renovation of a 3200 square foot 1930’s Spanish Revival. The house and garage were in poor shape. Unfortunately, we found they were in even poorer shape after we bought the property and began the renovation. We couldn’t afford to restore the house but wanted to maintain the feel of the period and original design. We also wanted to incorporate modern functional improvements in the bathrooms, kitchen, and pantry/laundry rooms. After only a few conversations we were wowed by Abeer’s vision for the project. She captured our wishes and improved on them. Her design details made all the difference in both the aesthetics and functionality of each area of the house and exterior spaces. The neighborhood is covered by a historical preservation zone ordinance which required Abeer to work her magic on the local Board to accomplish the exterior design, hardscape, terrace, and landscaping changes we wanted. We were living in Toronto and traveling in Europe during this period. We communicated via the Internet, Skype and telephone. Abeer responded quickly with creative and cost effective solutions to the each structural problem as it was discovered. Her close attention to detail and her respect for our tight budget helped immensely to minimize our angst working on this project at such a distance. She and her team worked overtime researching and finding wonderful lighting & plumbing fixtures, tiles, cabinets and paint color options that fit the period and style. They provided us with numerous web sites to review products, took us on site visits when we were in LA, sent samples to us in Toronto and supported us as we wrestled with all the decisions. The most important value added they provided was ensuring that the myriad of choices we were making integrated into coherent whole. To our great satisfaction, we were also able to restore about 50% of the floors, 90% of the windows, the two wooden ceilings and some of the lighting because Abeer found skilled artisans that were cost effective. We are delighted with the result. Hardly a day goes by without a neighbor or visitor complimenting us on our beautiful new (old) home. A few photos are attached but they don’t do justice to the overall result she achieved.

Several years ago we decided that the time was right for a major update on our wonderful, but aging home. Synthesis came in, assessed our needs, wants and ideas. They presented a design that was dramatic, effective, elegant yet simple - and we loved it ! Abeer and her crew managed the construction process which involved some new windows and replacement of nearly every door and window in our 3 story waterfront home. We had three beautiful new bathrooms and finally had a real laundry room, too. The most dramatic changes occurred in the master bath and kitchen, where a minimal footage addition allowed the most amazing and fantastic changes to those two rooms. Even now, after several years, each time we walk into either room, we're thrilled by how beautiful, efficient and striking they are. Our "new" home is elegant, comfortable and relaxing. We love it ! We are so happy with all that Synthesis did for us. From design, planning, organizing the construction process and finishing details, they were always responsive and on top of everything. They are terrific !

We hired Synthesis to re-model our kitchen. I could not recommend them more. We liked them so much we have hired them for some of the smaller jobs at our home. They are professional and take pride in every detail. More important they are a pleasure to have around- which matters when it comes to big projects. One of the things I have dealt with a lot in Los Angeles is hiring people who seem great at first- but then they fizzle out, don't finish the job, or at least never finish the job right.
