My husband and I hired Talmadge Construction for a full house renovation of our tired 1980s townhouse and they turned it into a modern and awesome place to live - photos of the kitchen are available above (Contemporary Condo Kitchen Remodel). This was our first time remodeling and Jeff Talmadge held our hands through the initial planning and budgeting phase and remained available throughout. The design process was very smooth, every inch of space was considered, rooms were re-imagined and the perfect finishes were chosen. During construction, our project manager was great: everything ran on time, we received weekly updates and there were no surprises. The craftsmanship was everything we hoped for and the team followed up with us until every detail was perfect. I recommend Talmadge Construction to anyone looking for a contractor in Santa Cruz county – they are friendly and helpful and will do anything to make sure you are satisfied with their work.

Our project manager was unfailingly professional, did a great job keeping the project on track and kept us up to date. The site was cleaned up each day and despite the size of the project, there was no added dirt or dust in the rest of the house. The project was more complex than simple cosmetics or even just fixture replacement. One end of the bathroom was partially extended to allow moving the toilet back and adding a door for privacy. The room, shower, vanity were gutted and rebuilt from the floor up, including reinforcement in the garage below for the tub's weight and a recirculating pump to conserve water and enable near instant hot water. The workmanship was impeccable with our project manager often identifying small issues and fixing them before we could say anything. The county inspectors who approved each phase of the project said that this was the best work they'd seen in a long time.

Talmadge did a bathroom/bedroom remodel for us this year and we enjoyed working with them from design all the way through to finished construction. Every member of their team was clearly engaged in helping us get what we wanted out of this renovation, contributing skills and expertise and thinking ahead to help us through all the necessary decisions. We were particularly impressed by the tile craftsmanship which transformed our space and was done with great artistry. They all went above and beyond for us, were always considerate of our needs, and were generally a pleasure to have around. I count this as the most satisfying project I have ever done, and Talmadge is the reason why. Fully recommended.

I am thrilled with my remodel! I have an older home that had some structural issues. I decided rather than just fix what was broken, to go ahead & remodel the bathroom, and basically rebuild that corner of the house. I am so glad I chose Talmadge Construction! Every aspect of the project was beyond my expectations. They worked with me to design exactly what I wanted (but way better than my original vision). Before I had to make a final decision, they had the timeline and the costs for everything in writing. There were no bad surprises. There was no stress...Amazing! Talmadge Construction is comprised of highly accomplished and professional, architects, designers, managers, and subcontractors; all led by the consummate professional, Jeff Talmadge. Our house project was a complex one, involving passive design, unique construction elements and smart technology. There were many challenges and they were met on head on with research, discussion and ultimately, outstanding results! Communication, therefore was important to us, and Talmadge delivered in a VERY big way; regular meetings, updates, and current timelines were part of this aspect. Additionally, we were consistently apprised of budget, changing or evolving costs, all with our understanding the facts. Our approval was always sought. We felt we had "eyes wide open" at all times. The job itself, was run very efficiently in that Jeff was constantly working on the sequencing of all the trades, making them efficient as well. Also, the jobsite was always in order. What needs mentioning here is that said tradesmen not only provided quality results ( Jeff would have it no other way ) , but were all great people and a pleasure to be around. This is a Grade A construction company. You will be treated fairly, respectfully, couteously, and they will do what they say in the time and price frame they give you. Quality work and service. Have used them for 30 years and have always been happy.

Top notch service and completion. Jeff Talmadge picked up a project that was 70% completed by a prior contractor. He did a great job taking it through to completion with good quality and solid subs during a period when the subs are very busy. Kudos to his site lead Mike.
